Underwhelmed with food selections. Some of the options took too long to get refilled for the buffet.
My husband took me to Notch 8 for my birthday. We absolutely loved our experience. The service was flawless without being stuffy, our servers were friendly and attentive in just the right amounts. We’ve eaten in many fine dining establishments over the years and this is by far the best prime rib anywhere in the world we have ever eaten. The Yorkshire puddings were also beautifully done, better than any we have ever had back in our home country of England. Highly recommended.
We often stop into the bar for a quick cocktail after a hard day of city shopping and that too is always a delightful experience. Some of the most delicious drinks in town. Thank you for a wonderful evening. See you next time.
It was nice!
This was the worst service I've ever received. The server came to serve us coffee at 8am and never returned until 9am to take our order.
Always wanted to try Notch8 and got the opportunity to do the dine out special with them. Our server Danny was phenomenal! He was very helpful and knowledgeable and caring. The food was amazing! Everything tasted fresh! I highly recommend the cauliflower side dish. The only downfall was that drinks are quite pricey. Also the table/booth we sat in had “adjustable” back pillows but weren’t very comfortable. I will probably only dine again here for dine out or a very very special occasion due to it being very pricey and not my favourite ambiance.
I celebrate my bday dinner in Notch8 with my family. The ambiance of the place is perfect, our food service is very nice and good. We ordered food and i got disappointed. My husband ordered a medium rare duck it is so bloody, he couldn't eat it. My appetite is down right away especially after tasting the onion soup with cheese in the top. I got stomach ache after i ate My tenderloin,
It is kind of hard like a gum. Maybe it's just depend on what kind of food you order. The dessert is very nice with taro powder. But overall i can only give 2 stars with my experience.
It has been in my bookmark for a while, finally had the chance to try it out. The dine out food was surprisingly good. And the service was excellent. Had a great dinner experience. I would like to come back some other time!
My food was fine but my husband’s was ice cold and had to send it back and our friend’s duck dinner was rare and she asked for medium cooked.
Great food, Good Taste
When we arrived at the restaurant, the hostess invited us to a table right next to the fireplace. We were both happy because it was a cold Friday afternoon. We ordered our selection of soup and entrée. I ordered a French Onion Soup and Notch 8 Club which would be very filling if the soup is a regular sized one. The waiter explained that to me and suggested a cup instead of a bowl which I agreed. My co-worker also ordered a cup of soup in addition to an entrée. She was also very satisfied with the service and the food and would highly recommend this restaurant.
Great overall dining experience with friends. I would go again.
Please bring back the Tomato soup it was spectacular.
My duck was very chewy and I had a hard time getting through it. Everything else was good though, especially the bread.
Excellent service and amazing food which was attractive and plentiful
Very good meals Prime Rib was huge, Lamb and Sable fish very small needed to order extra potatoes and mushrooms. Flavor was very good for all meals. Originally had table at entrance, bad spot, moved to outside booth, much better. Only issue was quoted $30 for corkage and charged $40, that’s really high most places charge $25.
Great spot, reasonable prices for high end.
Amazing brunch from the team! Highly recommended to check them out for any dining.
Maybe the worst Pinot Noir I had ever taste. The burrata was more a mozzarella soup than a burrata ........ since we arrive the person in charge of seatting guests was no willing to help anybody..... maybe the night before nye was too much for that restaurant.......
Food and service was fantastic. Would definitely return and recommend.
Food arrived cold.
Great buffet! Good food and lots of selection. Nice environment and the server was helpful. Hope to come back next year.
Everything we hoped it would be. Not a single complaint! Looking forward to Christmas 2020!
Late seating for Christmas dinner, the service, food and ambiance were excellent. I would highly recommend this experience.
pretty expensive for quality & quantity. Would have opted for a buffet had one been available, in preference to a set meal.
Attended the Christmasnday buffet and had a reservation at 1pm. Their hotel lobby looked festive, inviting and staff was friendly. Food looked amazing and tasted good. They kept running low on oysters but other than that everything was fine. Food stations were abit messy but other than that, we had a good time. Service was great.
Christmas brunch was fabulous
We had Christmas dinner at Notch8 and both the food and service were impeccable.
Haley was great and professional. Our server was good too.
I never received my 100 points via open table
Lovely festive lunch. Visit each year with my friend
GREAT buffet! GREAT Service! Thank You. We'll be back NEXT YEAR!
Birthdays Lunch on the Christmas Buffet. It was excellent. Fresh seafood. A variety of smoked and cured fish. Charcuterie table was beautifully arranged with an assortment of amazing cheeses and cured meets. Particularly please with the creamy blue cheese. I didn’t get the name to my chagrin. A whole strip loin at the carving station a perfect medium rare. The carver cut a fatty piece at my request. Tender and juicy, rested perfectly it didn’t drop all it moisture onto my plate. The skill presented by the kitchen was a pleasure. Also at the carving station was a ham. Turkey and all the fixens a fabulous gravy. Desserts were to notch also. I enjoyed my lunch and the cupcake and birthday champagne were a pleasant surprise. Service was on point also.
Very good breakfast despite the fact I came for the buffet and it was for some reason the only day there were none due to an event happening. I would have loved to see the update on the website so I would have come another morning. Steak Bennie to die for though. Ambiance is great as always Fairmont properties don’t disappoint.
Dennis is an amazing chef! Notch 8 is hands down my favourite restaurant in Vancouver
Our meal selections surpassed our expectations .. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was exemplary and the booth table was very quite and other diners were spaced far enough apart to enable easy conversation at the table.
Food and ambience was next level
Great place for business lunch. Bring back the Tomato soup!!!
Went for the festive brunch. Came out to 178$ for 2. Super overrated and not worth the money.
70 minutes wait for the food and when it’s finally came it’s not hot, just like warm
Even their signature bread and French onion soup it’s not hot, it’s disappointing for this price it charged
Services was great and I can tell she is very very busy running around and try her best to be attentive
This used to be one of our favorite restaurants and it’s sorry to see it went down
Breakfast was a disappointment. We have had brunch here which was fantastic. Breakfast though had a poor selection. There was only one slightly chewy egg bennie left. There were only replenished only after another person complained and took too long to come out. If you do have breakfast here skip the buffet and order off the menu.
