Notaro Ratings and Reviews
Visited this restaurant for an early dinner, following a spa day. It was empty when we arrived( they had just opened for the evening ) but the space was very nice, felt very cozy . Only tiny problem I had was that it was cold in there, but they do have a nice fireplace in the back-wish it was on lol. Other than that, I loved it . The food was great, nicely seasoned. And the staff was attentive. Will go back to visit again.
We wanted a good restaurant to meet with relatives that would not break our budget. Notaro got good reviews so we decided to give it a try. It was wonderful! The food was great, the service was outstanding, and it provided an atmosphere that was pleasant and allowed good conversation. (Nothing is worse than meeting with friends in a restaurant where it is so loud or echoey that conversation is really difficult). We will definitely add it to our list of regular restaurants to visit when we are in the area.
I usually go to Notaro about once a month. The Champagne Romance drink is terrific. The pacing is slow (happened the last time I was there as well) but the drink and food are delicious. I would recommend this restaurant for those who want to sit back and have a meal that is not rushed.
We waited about 30 minutes just for our drink order to be taken. then about 75 minutes for food. It was just a long wait for simple food. One positive is that it was GREAT food once it came out so if you are looking for a 3 hour dinner this place was great.
I ordered the shrimp scampi, which was so so. However, my husband had the veal fillet siciliano which he highly recommends. Meat was tender and the sauce which included mushrooms, onions, sausage and onions were very tasteful. We will definitely visit Notaro's again!
We had a 6pm reservation and when we arrived we were the only people in the restaurant. There was only one waiter and he was also the bartender. Even with only one table, service was slow. By the time a second waiter arrived, at 7PM about 6 tables were occupied and nearly everyone was complaining about something. The food was good and the overworked waiter tried hard and was very pleasant. We will give Natoro another try.
The wait staff was very friendly and did always check to see if I needed anything else. The food was very delicious. My only issue is that the pacing wasn't the best...took long time between finishing the appetizers and getting the dinner and then took another long time between finishing the dessert and getting the bill.
We had an early dinner reservation at 5:00 so we were the only diners in the dining room which gave us a quiet dining experience. We ordered the 3-course fixed priced meal for $24.95. Everything was delicious and portions were fair. I would definitely go back there again!
Nice smaller restaurant with a few outside tables. We were graciously greeted and offered a table just inside the door with a nice view out to the sidewalk., just in case it rained. The servers were great and our food was quite nice. They have a prix-fixe menu for $22.95 which changes every night and is a great deal. It includes an appetizer, main course, dessert and coffee or tea. They also have a very nice wine list featuring wines from around the world.
During my visit to Notaro I had very poor treatment given to me by my waiter. He ignored my girlfriend and I as we spent close to three hours at the restaurant. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks. The waiter did seem interested in communicating with me as he directed most of attention to my girlfriend. I will never go back. The food was ok but why should anyone be treated rudely when you are trying to enjoy dinner on valentines day.
I must have walked passed this restaurant a thousand times and this was the first time I stopped in. The food was excellent and the service was very good. There's a fireplace in the back of the dining room which made for a nice atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. A great place for a pre or post movie dinner.
We had dinner there the evening of a huge storm and the restaurant was pretty empty, hence the Quiet noise level. It was our first time there. but definitely the last. Everything was very good. I'd like to try it again when it is busier and would hope to have the same review.
About 8 of us were trying to find an Italian restaurant at the last minute at 8:30 on a Friday night. We were able to get a table here and thought we'd give it a shot. Staff seemed a little frazzled upon our arrival, but they were extremely accommodating. We were sat quickly and the waiters and busboys were attentive. Food was not fabulous, but it was good and served quickly - everyone enjoyed!
Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a decent Italian option. Atmosphere was very homey and warm, like being at grandma's house.
Prix fixe dinner offers a nice choice with decent food at a reasonable price--the eggplant and pasta were good; however my chicken was bland and a bit dry. The staff was very attentive and let the 4 of us sit for 3 hours without feeling rushed. Wish the ladies room wasn't down a long flight of stairs.
We had been to Notaro many times and found good food, competent service and a terrific value. This visit there was a stand-up and sit-down party going on next to our table. We did get our table moved. It took several requests to get butter with the bread although the olive oil was there. When asked to substitute a vegetable for a pasta on the side we were told there was a $2.50 upcharge. We settled on a side salad with no upcharge. It is still an excellent value with good food. They could improve their customer relations.
