NYAJ' s is one restaurant to which I keep returning. From the minute that Phyllis greets me and my companions as old friends to Marlo, one of the wonderful waitstaff, it feels like home. The food is consistently good, reasonably priced, and very tasty! I've yet to have a meal I dislike there. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed!
One of the few places that offers gf bread that is really good!
We had Corey for our waiter. Friendly, informative on all the dishes available and checked on us often for beverage refills as well as our meals. Wait staff has alot to do with a good meal. He said if it is not done to perfection I will make it perfect to please you. Thats a good waiter!!!
I must eat gluten free and love it here... great menu
My husband is not GF, so we get the best of both menus
We always enjoy eating here and we always request the same server Marlo. Great food seasonal menu choices and the staples on the menu are consistently fabulous
We go to NYAJ’s on a semi-regular basis and it’s always a great place for casual dining. The food is excellent, the service is very good, and the prices are reasonable. What more could you ask for?
one of our favorite restauarants . We enjoy the food, the service and the friendly atmosphere.
It was great. Celebrating birthdays
We were there around 5:30pm on a Tuesday. Family of 4 with 2 small toddlers. The staff didn’t hesitate to make sure the kids were happy. When I made the reservation, I commented that we were celebrating a birthday and if there was anything that didn’t involve singing, that would be great. The manager presented us with a gift card! We were definitely planning on coming back based on the food and service, but that was unexpected and awesome!
It was Easter Snday with the family. We typically would go to "3" in Franklin usually on Easter however we had a bad experience there with there lamb so we chose to change it to Joes this year and will probably go there again next year for Easter and a few time more in between. We went to Joe for Valentines day this year and it was perfect.

It was very quick with no waiting
Love the food
Service was efficient and pleasant
Very consistent and reliable
Everything was great. Delicious Bloody Mary’s. Service was excellent. The Manager bought my 90 year old Dad his meal which I thought was awesome. Really nice experience!
We met family from another part of the state for a pre Easter afternoon dinner. The service and food were excellent. At the time we were there it was not busy and the music was too loud. It was hard to have a conversation with older seniors in attendance who have a difficult time hearing. Other than that it was great! I've been to 2 Not Your Average Joe's restaurants and the food has always been delicious.
We enjoyed our regular visit to Not Your Average Joe's. Good meal, good service as always. Wedge, Buffalo Chicken Pizza and Back Yard Burger never disappoint. My wife said the Tomato Basil soup tasted different (not as good) but my daughter liked hers. Thumbs up overall.
NYAJ is our "go to" place for dinner! Nice high top table seating in the bar area, delicious food, nice wine list and good selection of beers on tap...would like to see a few more local brews on tap! We enjoy our "date nights" as well as dinner with our big family at NYAJ!!!
good drinks and good gluten free food options , good location and easy to meet friends there
It was crazy busy, we were seated shortly after our reservation time, but food took an hour to come. Made for a long night with 2 hungry kids. Wouldn't go back on a weekend night....
I made a reservation but they were not turning tables so my 7:15 reservation turned into a 7:45 seating. Drinks and dinner came really slow. Quality of the food was average. Value was average. My server was super nice and she was attentive. The backup was in the kitchen.
We had a reservation and we didn’t get seated until 20 minutes after the time. Totally understand that this can happen but it quickly went downhill after that.
Our table was crowded next to another table and two people in my party kept being hit by patrons and servers walking by.
The service was crazy slow. Took forever to get our food.
Server never checked in on us after meals were served.
My meal was tasteless- spaghetti squash dinner - and we had two orders of steak tips that were over cooked.
Empty glasses were never cleared.
We sat with our finished meals for a while.
The only thing that was quick was when we asked for the check.
Never going back.
As always the restaurant is always accommodating food wise. Our server Tim was the best!
Great place to go with little kids!
The seafood fettuccine (shrimp, scallops in lobster sauce) tasted wonderful. My wife's haddock also tasted great. The fresh baked bread was warm and chewy, just the way I like it. Only quibble was that the sauteed spinach side dish with my wife's dinner was incredibly salty, which was unusual as every time we eat here the food is uniformly good.
I have been eating/ celebrating birthdays at NYAJ for many years and have always enjoyed it. My experience there last Saturday evening was definitely sub par. My husband ordered the grilled steak. It took forever to arrive and when it did it was already sliced up and cold. The fries with it were hot and the only thing that saved the meal. My entree Waldorf salad was bland and tasteless. If it wasn’t for the NYAJ bread I would have left hungrier than when I arrived. I will not return to this location for a very long time.
We were early for our reservation, but were seated immediately! Our server was prompt and made sure we had everything we needed! Food was good with a generous portion!
Mike is a great waiter with even better management dealt with a couple of off dishes
We have frequented Not Your Average Joe's on many occasions, but it had been over a year since our last visit. Some changes: The menu prices seem steeper and the food is not as spot on.
We started with the Ahi Tuna Wantons, which were ok, a couple of the end pieces were overcooked, but otherwise, love the concept.
We usually order larger entrees, but were craving burgers and had heard NYAJ's were really good. So, my husband and I ordered the Sweet Blue Burger, medium rare. Mine came out totally raw and cold and was skimpy on the cheese; the French Fries were warm, not hot.
Even the normally luscious focaccia bread with garlic dipping sauce was just ok. The bread was not warm and a bit dry. Sad, since I have dreams about that bread.
Will I hurry back? I'm a fair person, so I might give the place another chance.
Our server was enthusiastic and attentive.
NYAJ's best feature is their consistency! Every single time I have visited the restaurant the food and service are consistently excellent. Our server, Marlo, is great - always happy to be in her area of the dining room. She makes you feel so happy to be there with her attention and friendliness. I have a lots of allergies and I am a very picky eater and the chef will always alter meals to my needs/liking. I was here twice last week to celebrate my birthday, once for lunch and once for dinner, and I will return again soon!
The salmon -- while quite good -- seemed to be a rather small portion. I'm guessing it was 4 oz, which seems a little light for a dinner entree priced at $21.
My dining companions both had sirloin tips, which they liked, though one commented on them being rather salty.
I've always had good experiences at this location and others of this chain, so I'll give them another try, but they need to win me back. Right now, I'm skeptical.
Not Your Average Joes is always a great place for a casual dinner.
Food was delish as always and waiter was amazing and accommodating to our 5 year old as well.
Another very good meal at NYAJ’s. They never disappoint.
1ST time i was disappointed with NYAJ. Ordered Sangria that was not sweet at all. 3 sips and done. Ordered Lobster bisque that didn't taste like it and 2 other tables sent it back also. The main dinners were fine.
Excellent food and service! We were seated quickly
WE WENT TO LUNCH FOR VALENTINE'S DAY AND IWE STARTED WITH THE FRESH BREAD AND OLIVE OIL FOR DIPPING WHICH IS ALWAYS THE GREAT START TO A DELICIOUS MEAL. I ENJOYED THE SURF N TURF SPECIAL WHICH WAS COOKED TO PERFECTION AND MY HUSBAND HAD THE HADDOCK SANDWICH WITH FRIES. THE BEEF WAS JUST PERFECT AND VERY TENDER AND THE LOBSTER RAVIOLI'S WE JUST RIGHT. THE DESSERT WAS EXCELLENT TOO.
Very good food, excellent service and atmosphere. Was a very pleasurable experience.
Three of us (husband, wife and adult daughter) dined at NYA Joe's in order to try the special Valentine menu and we were all pleased with our selections. The lobster bisque was excellent - and I am not easy to impress with seafood bisques and chowders. The heart beet a& goat cheese salad was enjoyed by my wife. She also ordered the surf and turf special featuring filet medallions and lobster tortellini which was excellent. My daughter started with the Thai chicken lettuce wraps - one of her all-time favorites , then ordered the herb-roasted statler chicken breast and loved it. My entree was herb-crusted haddock and it was exactly to my liking. We barely had room for dessert so split one order of
Love in a Glass," the Valentine special dessert, which we all loved.
Our dinner was on a busy Saturday evening but despite how busy it was, our waitress was attentive and gave excellent service.
I usually love NYAJ but the food at this location doesn’t compare in taste or quality to other locations for some reason. Great menu variety and good service, but I won’t be rushing back to this location.
Servers just took wayyyyyy too long, the food was good and came on time, just the service was bad
Great experience! Booked the reservation .... we walked in the door and checked in and viola we were escorted right to our table!
Food quality has gone downhill in the past year tonight medium rare steak tips were well done roasted brussel sprouts tasted like char no seasoning same with the fish no seasoning. While the sautéed spinach was extremely salty. The Caesar salad came out with the entree instead of before.
After years of being regulars will not be back again.
