Not Your Average Joe's Watertown
Not Your Average Joe's Watertown is located on Main Street in Watertown, MA. We are steps from the Watertown Free Public Library, and minutes from the Arsenal Mall and Charles River.
We are conveniently located up the road from Athena Health's expansive campus, the Perkins School for the Blind, and Watertown High School. Nearby lodging includes the Super 8 Watertown/Cambridge/Boston Area, Crowne Plaza Boston -Newton, and the Residence Inn by Marriot Boston Watertown.
We enjoyed our food, beverages, desserts and the service.
Great place to gather with friends and family of all ages.
I love all of the NYAJ locations, but especially Watertown!!! Wonderful gluten free foods, that’s what keeps me coming back. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Had never been to bruch at Average Joe's before, quite excellent! Great selection of food in a comfortable atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
Great tasty American-style food with a really terrific menu design that makes putting together a healthy meal incredibly easy -- wish all restaurants put the calories up there so clearly and had such great sections for bowls (Veggie bowl is amazing!), salads, reasonably sized protein only entrees. Service was great and atmosphere was happy, casual, and great for conversation.
Server was terrible but food was great.
As usual NYAJ did not disappoint. My family specifically has special meals out here because they are so accommodating to food allergies. All my children who have multiple food allergies are able to enjoy a meal out with no worries. Thank you once again for such a high level of service and accommodation.
Poor service wrong food delivered to our table. Prime rib cooked more than we ordered potatoes over roasted all in all amediocre meal!
$1 oysters was a great value. And yummy, too!
Waitress never brought us bread, checked in way too much, rudely dropped a huge to go back right in the middle of the table between my date and I, even though we had a whole other 2 seater table next to us where she could’ve left it. She didn’t seem very thoughtful.
The food was good, the service was wonderful. It was very crowded due to holiday after work activity. The staff was very pleasant.
Service is warm, friendly, prompt and obliging. Food specials for the Holiday were excellent- mahi-mahi for me with smashed potatoes, French green beans and tasty tomatoes. My partner had prime rib, cooked to the right temperature, medium rare.
Best service of all the not your average Joe's in the area.
Our server was excellent- attentive and got all the complicated parts of our order correct without issue. He was friendly and casual.
The woman who seated us was rude. She sat us at a table where it felt like we literally were in the laps of people sitting at neighboring tables. Their conversations were loud enough to become our conversations. We asked to be moved to an open booth, to be told by this host that ‘that is for a reservation’. Yes, I said, we had a reservation. I just told you that. She said- No. That table is not for you. What? Ok, so maybe someone reserved a booth- something I was not aware one could do on OpenTable but perhaps by calling the restaurant. That’s fine. But seriously? I felt like a 3rd class citizen. Why make a reservation at all in an open restaurant to be seated on top of other people? I’m sure they loved it as much as we did. 😒
We can always count on getting a well prepared and delicious meal at Not Your Average Joe's. While the restaurant is sometimes a bit loud, the food and service are always good.
Everything was good but it is getting pricey fir every day dining.
Most restaurants are pretty good. This one is pretty good. Prices are reasonable. Food was good. Service was good. Portions reasonable (not obesity inducing). Only down side was decaf coffee -- which was pathetically weak. But that's a very minor complaint in the whole scheme of things. I would go back and feel confident ordering the same or different items.
Great food, good service and a fun location. Not Your Average Joe’s is always good!
Always good food! Atmosphere is loud but not unbearable.
We had a lovely meal out with three other families. The service was very good.
The food was very good as usual. We waited at our table after we were seated for too long a period before anyone came to welcome us, take our drink order, bring menus, bring water, etc. Probably a miscommunication between the podium and the server. They apologized when it was brought to their attention.
Best NYAJ I've been too. Great food server, excellent food, but still too noisy.
At first I was disappointed because you have a new menu and the items I always got were not there. Once I looked the menu over again, I found a salad that was perfect and enjoyed it immensely. My mom and friend were with me and we all enjoyed our dinner. The waitress was wonderful, Caroline, maybe? A young lady. I will return again and continue to try new items on your menu. Thank you!
Overall it was fine however the server was over sat so he was a bit frazzled rightfully so making the service see a bit slower than normal. I would suggest maybe staffing more servers at lunch especially through the holidays, just a thought. It’s not fair to the server.
NYAG is a great spot for dining or drinks. Service is great @the Watertown restaurant. Bread basket &olive oil dip is hard to resist! Seafood entree is well-prepared and generous. Looking forward to returning soon!
Always great food. Had Kendra for the second time and was a pleasure as she’s well informed and efficient. Mustard crusted chicken is my go to.
I love NYAJ. Very seldom have any problems. Food is great with seasonal changes.
I always love Bot Your Average Joes.....outstanding food, many gluten free options, great cocktails, great ambience. I am a regular!!!
The food is always good, however this particular location is always very noisy. If you are looking for a quiet vibe this is not the place for you, but if you are looking for an energetic scene with people of all ages this is definitely the place for you.
Burger was excellent, I could barely finish it after stuffing myself with the yummy bread and dip!
Tried their Octoberfest special and the food was good. Brought back memories of living in Germany, even if it's not exactly the same, they certainly captured the spirit of the dish.
We celebrated a birthday with a party of nine. From the time we arrived to our leaving, the staff was top notch. The German appetizers , the salads and the meals were very good. It was truly a Happy Birthday !
I was disappointed in limited menu for brunch. We wanted the regular menu and went for lunch at 1pm, but they were serving a very limited selection.
We were frustrated because I THOUGHT I did all that I was supposed to do to get the $10 reward from open table, using 2,000 points that have disappeared. I printed the red $10 coupon (which is what I thought I was supposed to do). When I tried to use it I could not. I must have missed a step in the printing process at home since no barcode printed with the $10 red coupon. They told me without a bar code I could not use it since it had to be scanned. Please help. I could not use the coupon and I am out 2,000 points. Please contact my email address or call me at 857-222-4777 (cell) so that I can either get 2,000 points reinstated or be able to use the $10 coupon the next time we make a reservation at an open table restaurant.
Reliable. Great selection, value. Aside from the one bad experience at the Randolph location, we’ve enjoyed many other NYAJ’s.
We are regulars at NYA Joe's. The new bartender made my favorite Pomegranate Passion Martini perfectly, even though it's not on the menu anymore. (Maybe change that?) The Pumpkin Apple Soup was delish!
Outstanding as always! Love this place, feels like home with my big, loving and loud family.
All four of us were very cold. Kept our jackets on the whole time.
The nachos only came with 10 chips. Staff is nice
Always well prepared, excellent food. A menu that will please kids and adults. Great service, fun experience. Our youngsters were entertained by the pizza chef.
