As always, a great experience. Our Open Table reservation was for 6:30 and we arrived at 6:30 and were immediately seated even while many people were waiting for tables. Superb reservation management and much appreciated! The service from Brian was as friendly and properly attentive as usual - we were well taken care of throughout the meal. The food was great and we were able to take advantage of the Company Theater discount, as well as a couple of coupons we had. Love being on Joe's list for special offers.
You just can't do better for a dining experience that meets and exceeds expectations consistently than to dine at Joe's.
We have usually enjoyed our dining at NYAJ's. But this time the food was overcooked and poor. The service was unusually slow, but not the waitress fault.
However, the Restaurant was extremely busy. We, and many others, dined prior to going to the Company Theater.
We usually get a small booth when we go before our play. However the person in charge would not give us a booth because he said we had to request it. However there’s no place to request a booth on OpenTable. He seem to be less inclined to make an exception we will think again before going back to this restaurant
had tickets to a show at Norwell Community Theater which is 5 minutes away from restaurant. Best Ahi Tuna Won Tons my wife has ever had. Steak tips perfectly cooked, juicy and tasty accompanied by home made mashed potatoes and under cooked green beans. Great hand crafted cocktails, nice wine list. Perfect for a before or after show meal. Appears to be in an old Ground Round building right off of Rte 3, exit 14, in Norwell.
I have been to this location several times and I keep going back. Glad it is back on OpenTable. My review for this visit is somewhat split. We were seated right away which was great. I ordered the chicken piccata entree which was very good. My friend ordered the double thick pork chop which was served with a risotto and arugula. The pork chop was ordered medium cooked which is the restaurant standard according to our server. I would always order pork to be cooked medium. The center of the chop was very pink which concerned me. It clearly was undercooked in the middle. Since we had waited close to an hour for our entrees my friend did not bother sending it back. Also there was barely any risotto on the plate. I estimated there to be about a tablespoon and 1/2 of risotto with a scant sprinkling of arugula. The chop was large and dominated the plate. Initially I thought there was only the chop on the plate. It was a very busy night. Our server was doing the best she could considering the business and other than the long wait for our entrees service was pretty good.
Great restaurant for our pre show dinner on girl's night out to the Company Theater in Norwell. Service was excellent and we all enjoyed our entrees as well as ooooohhhhh that bread/oil/cheese and seasonings, highlight of the meal. Good food as well as diverse selection and service that was prompt and got us out and to our show in plenty of time.
Friends and I had lunch and then headed over to the Company Theater to watch a musical and we received 15% off our meal for having theater tickets there which was great. The meals are always delicious there no matter what you get, I had the Shrimp and scallop Fettuccine .
I always enjoy going there.
The food at Not Your Average Joe's is consistently good. The atmosphere IS average. The service is always a bit slow. It's the kind of place that is comfortable and enjoyable without being over-the-top fabulous. Take the family or go with good friends. It truly is a neighborhood gem.
Excellent meal. I chose the seafood fettuccine entree. It was very good with an abundance of scallops and shrimp. Sauce was perfect. Large portion. My dining companion enjoyed a harvest pork chop with rissoto and arugula. The chop was moist and flavorful and the dish was a beautiful presentation. The restaurant honored my friend's veteran status by providing a 50% discount on his meal which was appreciated.
We had a nice lunch. I was a little disappointed in the key lime pie. We always get it because we love it at Joes, but this time the crust was overdone and the filling was pretty skimpy in comparison to the amount of crust. Everything else was good. Our entrees were great and so was the waitress. It was quite loud... but then it always is. We'll be back because we always like Joes.
Great Service - as usual, reservation was honored immediately; our table was waiting for us. Service from Veronica was great, food mostly great, but my entree disappointed somewhat. It was the "preview" of the new barbecue meatloaf item. My wife's entree of the tuna salad was great, according to her assessment. Aside from the meatloaf entree, this experience at NYAJ's was superb as always!
Our waiter, Gerald, was excellent. We asked for specific dietary needs and he made sure we were accommodated. He also had the bar remake our cocktails, since he could tell we were not quite satisfied, even though we didn't complain. He was so attentive, that we felt as though we were in a gourmet restaurant.
This is one of my favorite spots, but our waitress was a little off her game. She was very nice, but a couple of orders were not as ordered and she forgot the dressing in my leftovers. We substituted mashed potatoes for my father's meal and it didn't come that way, so an order was brought to us, but we were charged for it. It was a very pleasant evening, however, and I would return in the future.
I also mentioned in making the reservation via Open Table that we were there for an anniversary celebration. I'm not sure if the restaurant gets that info?? No one said anything and it was my parents 61st!!
My Husband ordered steak tips, mashed potatoes and green beans. the steak tips were over cooked and tough. the mashed potatoes were not edible.. they were like a brick. I ordered the FRUTTI DI MARE, it was very basic and not alot of seafood for the price. it was bland and mediocre. on top of the poor food the service was slow... we watched tables turn over twice before even getting our food. our waiter walked over and check on us and ask how our meals were and we had yet to get them. we have come to this location before and had a good experience.. it is time to find a new go to place.. as this used to to be it.
Food is usually quite delicious, and a little different than standard restaurant menus. Particularly applaud Oktoberfest entrees. Bread has often been served ice cold, so I ask for it to be heated, but this time it was room temperature, so it was fine. We often make a meal of many appetizers, and one of their delicious salads, but the apps are not so interesting on the current menu. Wish they'd bring back (lamb?) sliders, or pork belly, etc. Love the atmosphere of tables in bar area. But tell me: why is it so hard to attract attention of servers here? They should be trained to keep making tours of their tables, and stop the incessant chit-chat at the back of the bar!! And don't EVER ask if we are still WORKING! We are dining, or eating. Hate that trend in server lingo. All told, definitely a restaurant worth returning to again and again.
