We were a group of rambunctious parents who had all ditched our kids for the evening, meaning that we were loud, drinking a lot, carrying on, and generally only maintaining the barest veneer of being adults. Our server tolerated it all with a smile, serving quickly (save for one item from the bar out of something like eight separate orders) and graciously.

The food was VERY good, though not outstanding in any particular aspect.

All said, our visit was a solid four stars.

One of the reasons we like NYAJ's so much is the consistency of the food - it's always good! Also, being able to make a reservation at the last minute and being seated right on time is great.

The noise level is extreme and we will try to avoid going on a Saturday night.
We had a party of 6 and could hardly hear the conversation at our own table.
Other than that we always enjoy our meals and have made it our place to go since
it opened in Norwell.

Excellent food especially for the price and one of the best German Octoberfest Beers ever, Paulaner (sp?) Octoberfest on draft and their mustard crusted chicken is one of the best chicken entrees one could get.

My husband and i went on a Saturday night at 7:00. I love that we could make a reservation for 2 on a Saturday night, no waiting at all. It was pretty crowded. Food was really good and service is always great. Although my husbands dinner seemed a little skimpy, mine was great. The sangria special was awesome. It is a little loud but we were just there to have a bite to eat, not an occasion or to linger. It seems great for kids even though ours werent with us. I love this restaurant and would go back.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time at NYAJ's and love that we could make a reservation for rou group. We were seated promptly and the service was great. What a nice surprise to find out that we received 15% off our bill because we were attending a show at the Norwell Company Theatre! Awesome and we will surely return!

We were warmly greeted when we walked through the door, by both the hostess for the dining room and a waitress offering to seat us in the bar (where there were 1/2-price appetizers). We opted for the dining room, where our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu, super-attentive and very friendly. Ate 100% off of the Octoberfest-specials menu - really wish the pumpkin mole chicken was a normal menu item (very tasty, but could have used a little more sauce). Not a lot of options in the immediate area, so Joe's is a welcome sight right off Rte 3.

We love NYAJ's and also love their birthday program - free dinner for your birthday which you can use a week prior or a week after your birthday!

Pumkin Mole Chicken was just okay. Everything else was great!

When we arrived our reservation table was ready and everyone was very accommodating. Service was excellent and waiter was very attentive and friendly. You serve a variety of food for everyone. The steak tips and specials were great! We were past closing time but no one hurried us out and we could finish up our evening at our own pace. The only thing I wish Not Your Average Joe's had were round tables. This would make it a bit warmer and easier to talk to a party of 16. Thanks for a great evening:)

Love this place. The food is amazing. Especially enjoyed the Oktoberfest short rib stroganoff, but virtually everything we have ever ordered here tastes like it was prepared at a culinary institute. Outstanding service that was quick and friendly even on a very busy Saturday evening. Top it all off with reasonable prices for the quality offered and it's a tri-fecta in dining out. Ok, just so you don't think I've got a financial interest in the restaurant, I will deduct 2 points for a Caesar salad that was on the bland side. NYAJs still gets 98/100 and we will keep coming back.

There were four of us and everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. I can only say that what I ordered, crab cakes, were very good but the greens that came with it were not. A very musty taste like it was bagged in plastic or whatever. However that will not keep me away from Not Your Average Joe's. We go with family and friends as often as we can. Good meeting place.

We have been going to Not Your Average Joe's since it first opened. The food and service are always great, which is why we keep going back. The only complaint that we have is about the noise level. I know it's great for business that it's always packed (Saturday night it was just jammed!), however it makes it difficult to have a conversation unless you're shouting at each other! Even with this unpleasant aspect of the dining experience, we'll keep going back... we love Not Your Average Joe's!

I am always most impressed with the outstanding customer service. From the time you walk in until the time you leave someone is always asking if everything is to your liking with a smile. The food and wine is never disappointing but to me the friendly service is refreshing and never goes unnoticed.

As usual with your establishment, your food was perfect, service great and I had a terrific birthday celebration. We can't say enough about Joes and we were happy to introduce friends of ours who had never been to a Joes to your restaurant--they loved it and will most certainly return with friends of theirs.
Once again, thank you so much for a great birthday celebration!!

PS: We drove from Salem, NH to have my celebration there and our friends live in Falmouth, Ma--we have a second home in Newburyport, Ma where there is also a Joes but love your spot!

I lived in Germany for four years and still love their cousine. When I saw the ad. for Octoberfest specials I had to go (We are regular diners anyway). Everything was great except the potato. My advise is to offer another potato choice for next Octoberfest.

I have visited this NYAJ location many times. On this last visit, service was spotty and rushed. Our entrees arrived while we were eating our salads. Server never offered to refresh our beverages. Both my dining partner and I chose entrees from the Octoberfest menu. Entrees good but not memorable.

I have to say I eat here often. I ordered the chicken picatta and my husband ordered the turkey kabobs. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, him...not so much. He didn't like the rice, I told him he should have asked for a different starch, say maybe french fries. He did however, love his tomato basil soup. The bread and oil which was prepared by our wonderful server, Ian, was the best we've had there so far. He serves it a bit different than every other server. It comes out rolled into a ball and then he mixes it up in front of you. Did I say our server, Ian, was wonderful, well he was the best, attentive server we've had lately. He packed up our leftovers, meals we ordered to go for the kids, and extra bread and oil.

I usually like NYA Joes but this night I got there an hour before my 7:15 reservation, checked in when I got there, they assured me my reservation was there in the computer, and told them we would be waiting in the bar. At 7:15 a fried went to the reception desk to check on the reservation and they told him they had no reservation under open table for me and gave him a buzzer for a new reservation. At 8:15 the hostess came in to the bar and seemed perturbed that we had decided to eat at the bar! All the while one bartender was talking about the other bartender in a critical way to the rest of the staff that came and went. It may have been a bad night but I was not pleased with the experience.

This is only our second visit. The food is excelent and I would say unique in a way in that it is very well presented. Service is very good, friendly but not intrusive. Just right. I like the decor also. We plan to go more often.May I suggest a better sign We drove past the restaurant as it was so nondecript. I suggest a much larger sign, contrasting colors, emphasize the JOE!

Overall always great food, 2nd time there this summer. Was a little disappointed the "special " menu was the same as I was
Craving some fall flavors.

The meatloaf is always a favorite of someone at the table and I love it as well...

Had a great meal with my daughter and her friend to celebrate my birthday thanks to a special coupon from Joe's. Excellent menu options to accommodate the 3 of us, including 1 vegetarian. Food is freshly prepared, ("Over the Top Shelf") margaritas are generous and the Peanut Butter Thing is to die for! The 3 of us split it and had a chunk left to bring home!
