Always a good Meal at NYAJ. My husband got the corn beef special for St. Patrick's Day and really enjoyed it. Our waitress was very nice.
I was supposed to get $10.00 off my bill because I went thru Open Table but that didn't happen it wasn't offered.
I had the Haddock with a crust on top. The piece of Haddock was so thin it looked as though it had been frozen and then thawed out. Exactly what I have seen in the super markets in the frozen food area. The cole slaw was very good as was the mashed potatos. The bread as always was delicious with the dipping . The wait staff was excellent as always.
Great all around eating establishment in an easy to get to location.
Disappointed in the Spaghetti squash Bolognese. More like a stew.
Scallops were good & the carrot cake was excellent. It was ok for me on business however, ambiance is more of a “Friday’s” type establishment.
Came here for a mid-day weekend date with my husband prior to seeing a movie next door. As always, great food and drinks! Price is a little high but standard for the area
We always enjoy having lunch or dinner at Not Your Average Joe's because the food is great and the service is usually great too. If you make your reservation on Open Table though you may want to confirm with the restaurant directly. I had the confirmation from Open Table but the restaurant never received the reservation. They said I was the second person that had happened to that day. They got me seated close to my reservation time anyway, but if it is super crowded they may not be able to do that.
The clam chowder was horrible. This is the 2nd time I had it there. Word that comes to mind is rancid
Food was very good. It got busy quickly and consequently our service was a bit slow. Other than that we enjoyed it.
I have been to NYAJ many times and always had a good experience and decent food.
Friday the service was very lacking. First, I ordered a side salad that had blue cheese crumbles and came with a horseradish dressing. I asked for no blue cheese and a substitute ranch dressing. Neither request was met and there was a hair on my plate. I noticed immediately when the waitress set it down, and let her know. They brought me another salad, but the requested changes still were not met. At that point it wasn’t worth sending back, I just skipped it and ate the rest of my meal. They did comp it, so that was nice. My friend ordered a second drink and the waitress came back with it as we needed to leave for a movie, 20 minutes later.
It wad her first time there and these things didn’t make a good first impression for her. I’ll be back, but hope to have a better experience next time.
I was surprised no one mentioned the birthday I was there for since when I booked the reservation it asked me if it was a special occasion. The menu doesn't seem to change much, i was looking to try something new but ended up getting the same ole steak tips which were somewhat bland. I do like this restaurant and will come again.
The food was outstanding. I had the meatloaf and my husband had the shrimp fettuccine. Both were excellent. The service was on point. Our server Kayla was very attentive and personable.
The drinks were also very good. Overall a great time.
Goat cheese on my salad would be better warm. The bread is incredible. Over all one of my favorite places to eat.
JOes is always great! Tim our waiter was great, food was great as always. Hostess staff weren’t as friendly as other locations I’ve been too as well as bathroom was really not clean!
My first time eating at Not Your Average Joe's and wasn't impressed. The bread with oil was good and so was the service, that's about it. I ordered clam chowder and a Caesar salad. The chowder didn't have any clam or potatoes, just chunky pieces of something (not sure what it was) and the Caesar salad had absolutely no dressing or taste to it. I'll definitely go elsewhere next time for my pre-movie dinner.
My food was outstanding. The Vday menu was wonderful, espically the "burry me in bubbles" drink. Both myself and fiance love NYAJ. It is our go to date place. We drive about 45 mins just to go.
We had dinner reservations on Valentine's day. Considering how busy it was, the service was great as was out meal and the staff. All around awesome experience.
Went to dinner on valentine day and our server Timothy was unbelievable. He was on top of everything and made sure we were all set and kept checking on us to see if we need anything. Food and service was great I will be going back again and bring some friends
I like Not Your Average Joe's. We go there regularly. It's a little on the pricey side, but not crazy. Drinks are expensive, but I rarely drink anyway. I ordered off the simply grilled menu. I got chicken and it was a little tough. They gave me two very thin breasts and overcooked them. Not so much that it was inedible or that I bothered to complain. The seasoning was very good too. I'll be back, I just might get the salmon instead. I like that to be a little overdone.
When we arrive for our 6:30 reservation there was a line out the door. They said they were so sorry but all the tables were seated and they had multiple booked reservations as well as call ahead seating tables. Absolutely not acceptable to participate in a reservation system when you actually don't have tables to seat the people with reservations. There were at least 60 people who were expressing a frustration. All the hostess could do was shrug your shoulders and say I'll do the best I can.
We had reservations and still waited half an hour to be seated
We've yet to have a bad experience at NYAJ. Everything was delicious and well prepared. I do have to say however, that the forno pasta was a bit on the bland side. Other than that, another great experience.
Even though we had reservations we had to wait in a crowded entryway for 20 minutes. We were seated next to the bathrooms in a booth that was squeezed in, not enough room for 4 people to sit comfortably. Our waiter was very slow. When the food came it was good, however. I probably won't go again on a weekend, though.
THE HERB-CRUSTED HADDOCK. WAS AMPLE AND VERY TASTY, ROASTED CARROTS AND SPROUTS COOKED WELL BUT A BIT BLAND. THIS WAS MY WIFE’S ENTREE.
I LIKED MY PESTO SALMON WITH THE PECANS BUT THOUGHT THE SPROUTS WERE TOO FIRM.
WE BOTH USED TO THINK JOE’S FOOD WAS TOO HIGHLY SALTED BUT THAT SEEMS NOT TO BE THE CASE ANY LONGER. THANKS FOR THAT.
IS IT MY IMAGINATION OR HAS THE MENU CHANGED. THERE SEEMED TO BE FEWER APPETIZERS TO CHOOSE FROM.
NEVERTHELESS, WE REALLY LIKE JOE’S, GO OFTEN EVEN WHEN IT ISN’T A BIRTHDAY, AND LIKE TO SEE NEW DISHES SEASONALLY. THE WAITSTAFF IS ALWAYS PLEASANT , EFFICIENT. AND ACCOMODATING. WE’LL DEFINITELY BE BACK.
Took us early, didn’t expect that although was certainly appreciated. Great service. Food is always excellent. Love it!
We had a great time celebrating our Daughter’s 21st Birthday.
Great experience!!!!! Our server was wonderful!...Food was delicious!
Menu is great and has plenty of different options. Great atmosphere and great for any occasion.
Great food and service, reasonably priced, friendly atmosphere.
Love the Scallops! Other favorites also.. but this dish rivals what you'll find at upscale seafood restaurants!
Great food as always! Good delivery was slower than normal. Not sure why the delay. And my husbands beef was nearly raw not medium.
We usually have a good experience here. This time it was a mix. We waited for 35 mins despite having a reservation The host appeared to be seating in order of walk-ins versus reservations. Our waiter was awesome, very attentive and personable. Food presentation was good. Scallops were delicious
Great food, NYAJ's menu has some unique dishes that you just don't see often.
I recommend you make a reservation. Place is always packed.
I made the reservation through open table and was easy as can be.
Food is always good!
The server was outstanding as he enthusiatically described the dishes. Food was very good. Atmosphere was nice/modern. We had a business holiday lunch and NYAJ was the perfect choice.
Always a great time at this establishment
Love that they now have a few vegetarian options
Mustard crusted chicken was outstanding. Pasta al forno was good but amount of food for value was under. Went for a birthday dinner which they acknowledged on check-in but waitress never mentioned it. Drinks were pricey for amount given.
My usual place to bring my kids for dinner when I can't decide what I want to eat, specially their huge selection of kids menu which is usually my final decision on deciding where to eat.
Don't come here. They purposely over book or what I call profiteering at the cost of the customer experience. While sometimes that works for this place it doesn't. Even the hostess walked off the job - I am not kidding you. Service was rushed and disingenuous. There are other option in that area. Look elsewhere.
