After 11 years at this location, Joe's is closing down in Landsdowne. While there is now a Reston VA location, we will surely miss having this one right in Loudoun County. We came here on the last day it was open and still had the usual great meal at an unhurried pace. Sad to see this place leave!
I have always enjoyed their bread but it was too doughy. Several appetizers we ordered was not tasty at all. It was either too well done or under done.
Great place but Landsdown is closing Nov. 29. There is a reston location still open though.
Food wasn't up to the usual standards of Joe's, but the service and beer were excellent. Shame that the Leesburg location is closing, as it was one of my favorite restaurants. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
When I arrived, the area near the hostess was crammed full. I'm so glad I made a reservation in advance! We were seated in just 5 minutes. I was really sad to see the sign that this location is closing in just a few days. I'm not sure if it was happenstance, or my request for a quieter spot (in my reservation) was the reason. The wait staff was very attentive. The food was excellent.
We are so sad to hear this location will be closing at the end of this month as it's been one of our favorites for years. We celebrated finding out we were pregnant here, had many date nights, Mother's Day brunches, dinners with friends, wine dinners and endless fond memories. Food and service is always impeccable. Truly will be missed!!!
I I was disappointed and the service this time. They had just released that morning that they will be closing November 29th. So we decided to use our gift cards to have a nice dinner. The server was inattentive and not social at all. My husband had to ask for drink refills several times. After being told it would be 5 to 10 minutes for bread it was close to 20 and then we never got a bread refill. This was definitely an unusual occurrence as we have dined there many times over the past 11 years and have NEVER had an issue with service before.
Our waitress was rude and seemed not readily available to anyone. Many tables she was waiting on had the same experience: we all didn’t get service for refills, we had to ask for bread, and she acted very out out when we reminded her that we needed refills. Her attitude was apathetic and almost rude.
Food was cold, bland and the food servers were confused as to what order went to what table.
We will be hard pressed to go back here. We’ve had good luck before but this visit made us rethink returning.
Great service and good food. Seasonal menu and cocktails were fantastic.
Previous visits have been better. Servers were busy and rushed; food was just average. Hope it gets back on track
Salmon was burnt, the Manager was quick to replace it which was good. However the chicken tenders were very bland- rice pilaf would have been better out of a box, and the service was very slow. Based on this experience I do not believe we will go back again.
This place has a great menu made of fresh local ingredients. Most menu items are available gluten free, and they have more than a few vegetarian options. Food is always fresh and tasty. Highly recommended.
Fun place, great service!
Had a pleasant dining experience. Service was outstanding.
Don't even ask it was that bad
The food is good and we've been a handful of times. Ask for Rodney - he is great server and offers great customer service
The service was OK. However, the meal took forever to get to us. After a long while the manager came by to say that the di9sh I had ordered (their barbecue meatloaf) had to be redone. When my meal finally came, the two sides were cold apparently because they had just sat there while the new meatloaf was being prepared. My wife's fish was also only warm and was a very small portion with some very ugly fries that looked like they came from the bottom of the fry basket.
The manager came by and asked how we liked our meal. We expressed our displeasure. He offered to not charge for my wife's meal, which we accepted.
All in all a very disappointing dining experience.
We enjoyed the atmosphere, the wait staff was great, but the food was mediocre. Might try again to see if different menu items would be better. Typical chain food based off of what we had.
NYAJ's never disappoints. The food is always good, portions big, and service is great.
Consistently a very good meal with equally good service. Always makes things right, if there is an error or oversight. Nice friendly atmosphere. Welcoming.
Being gluten free it's hard to find restaurants that have Gluten free options. So it's great to know NYAJs provides that option. But they don't need to take away the seasonings. Otherwise the GF bread is amazing.
We are regulars and live local - we're there every month, maybe more now that you're back on Open Table. Tonight, as usual the food was awesome, the service was terrific, but the fruit flies made the evening almost unbearable. If you do not take care of those and fast you will lose 2 dedicated customers.
We had last been to Joes in Wilmington, DE area shortly after it opened there. It was good, but much different from now. We decided to try it because we live close by, and now they have several locations in Northern VA. We were very pleasantly surprised. Great menu selections, nice layout, reasonable prices and outstanding service by Sheila (Sp?). Food was excellent. We will be back.
The service was great! We had a party of 7, complicated orders, and everything came out right and they did a great job of keeping on top of our drinks.
Salad portion was very small. Service was outstanding. Good for lunching with a friend. Food quality is oneven. Sometimes it is very good and other times it is just okay.
Great lobster dinners! Everyone in our party of 7 enjoyed their meals. Service was terrific. We had a person that was wheelchair bound and they made every accommodation possible for him to enter/exit the building and be seated near the entrance. We have eaten in the Landsdowne restaurant for many years and have always found that they are consistent with the food and service.
Outdoor seating area is very nice. Excellent server, attentive manager. Very accommodating with food allergies!
This particular NYAJ/Lansdowne was great when it first opened but now it seems to have slid down a few notches. My dinner was good but my husband's dinner (chicken caprezzi) was very drab. Didn't have any taste and there was hardly any pesto to speak of. Our other dining partner's meal (pork chop) looked tasty.
I think the Reston location is probably a bit better. It's fresh and the menu seems a bit different.
Still the best part of meal I love about NYAJ is their bread and olive oil/cheese mixture. THE BEST.
We had a very good bottle of wine(winesday), good dinner and wonderful bread! Service was very good!
We love this place for their menu variety and especially because it has lots of gluten free options. Always good service, friendly and good food.
Lobster Roll excellent, much better than Ford's Fish Shack by far. My wife's haddock was also very good. Just don't sit next to the kitchen area, it is very noisy.
You are a great excuse to meet with friends and do something fun, innocent and good for us!
The food was terrific...most pleased! Service was friendly and timely...and patient! ( with four friends busily talking away! )...Your "birthday card" is a lovely way to treat oneself - and to encourage more business...because who wants to eat alone?!! ...one brings friends along with them! I appreciate the Not Your Average Joe's in Lansdowne, VA...so glad you are there!
I've been going to this particular Not Your Average Joe's for several years. Between my husband and I, we've tried nearly everything on the menu. There is nothing we don't like. The menu changes every three months to feature seasonal items. We definitely take the time to see what's new. My husband's go-to meal is the Chicken Enchiladas. Mine is the Sirloin Tips. I'm so excited they brought back the Carrot Cake for dessert. Though I don't need gluten free selections, it's nice to see a gluten free dessert that isn't a flourless chocolate cake. (Don't get me wrong, I like a good chocolate cake, but I know it's hard to find variety for those who need a gluten free menu. BTW, Joe's has a good gluten free menu.)
I like this particular location because of the wait staff. Everyone is friendly and upbeat. When I can't decide what I want, there are a couple of waiters I've simply asked them to surprise me. They'll ask a couple of questions about what I like and don't like, then bring me the dish when it's ready. I'm always pleased!
We had a father's day brunch. The service was great and the food good.
Quick service, delicious food, close by. Sunday nights are a great night to go if you don't want a wait for a perfect restaurant experience.
our visit was great, the manager made us feel special, kudos to him, we will return
Server was great! He was wonderful! The food was terrible. The restaurant smelled like fried food and stale oil. The wood floor was greasy.
We were disappointed with the burgers....rolls were soggy fries were soggy and tastless.
Great place for the whole Family to grab a bite. Various item on the menu ranging in all Categories.
Very disappointed! My meal was very tasty (chicken enchiladas) but it was served cold! Two of us at the table ordered the same thing and both meals were cold.
The other problem...restaurant was very noisy. Loud music, clanking dishes heard from kitchen, waiters talking, loud group next to us.
Finally, we were seated at a round table that was a square made round by lifting up these extensions that were under table . The problem was these extensions were not level with table and the dishes, with your dinner on it , kept sliding toward your lap.
So, this is why it was not a good dining experience for me and my party at Not Your Average Joe's.
