Only the second time I have eaten at NYAJ’s and was comfortable coming here while visiting Hyannis. Waitress was very pleasant. Great decor and quite busy for a very stormy Wednesday night. I use the My Fitness Pal app to record my food and most everything on their menu is in the app. This is extremely helpful when traveling and trying to make the healthiest decisions
Waiter Brianna was perfect! My lunch was okay. Hubby says his was great!
Great as always
Items on the seasonal menu are always worth a try. Bread and dipping oil are the very best. Service is always wonderful.
Great! Will be back!
As always everything was great!
I love NYAJ Hyannis. I have tried several others, but they don't compare. That said, after more than five years going there occasionally, I found minor faults this time.
The lovely foccacio used to be served warm. Cold bread doesn't do quite as well.
The servers used to automatically ask for lemon with the iced tea.
The waitress did not respond quickly to our requests, probably because she was just too busy. She said that her asthma was bothering her because of the smoky atmosphere - from the grill.
The Burgers were good and well cooked. The fries got cold quickly.
I didn't feel as "special" as I have in the past.
I didn't see any manager on duty, perhaps they don't do Sunday brunch?
Picky? You asked for it.
Love this place & all the gluten free options!
jo e,s has been up &down sense it opened. wait staff very well trained, but the cooks are not consistent. sent back dinner twice. very disappointed on feb 14.
Yes, it is in a mall. Yes, the food is always excellent as is the service. They are EXTRA careful if there is a food allergy or preference. It is one of the best run restaurants I have eaten in.
Given that a majority of the patrons on a weekday lunch are either business people or retired folks, NYAJs could turn down the music volume to minimal. There is little threat of patrons lingering for hours who need to be driven out by the irritatingly loud music. If half the patrons are wearing hearing aids, they won't need the loud music. Excellent food and service every time we go, and we've bought gift certificates.
The food is always excellent. Very tasty. Absolutely love the bread. However some of the vegetable are not cooked enough. I have a hard time chewing them. Also some are the tables are too close together especially for a handicapped person. The staff is always friendly and the service great.
Great food and drink as always.
But they completely disregarded the note I put in the Open Table special instructions, asking that they bring something with a candle in it at the end, since we were celebrating my mother-in-law’s 81st birthday. No reason for them to miss that, since the place was empty at 3 in the afternoon.
Fantastic service with a very pleasant wait staff. Just a few minute wait for our table. Yummy food!
Always consistently good!
My family loves this restaurant! So many options to choose from, something for everyone!
The food was fine and the Waiter was the best. Great cocktails.
Went for a friends' get together & special occasion. Enjoyable dinner. Waitress was friendly. Made reservations for 4pm. Atmosphere was relatively quiet then picked up by 5/5:30pm. Great selection of food. Have dined here several times before for special occasions and will keep coming back. Definitely recommended!!
Everything was good except for veggies were not cooked and cold
The food, service, and ambiance is very nice. Our waiter did start off a little cold, but as the meal went on he became more friendly. I would say go there you'll have a good time!
FOOD AND DRINKS WERE GOOD. THE WAITRESS WAS EXCELLENT.
Joe’s is average. Good food at the mall. Salad and half sandwich is a good choice.
Great food and staff management always comes to see how everything was.
NYAJ never disappoints. Food and service are always very good. It's a comfortable place that you will return to many times.
Great food and service. Heather was very friendly and attentive.
Food, service, atmosphere were all great. We were seated right away, great spot by the window. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We had a seasonal appetizer that was very good. The carrot cake was divine!! I only wish there were locations near our home. We were in Hyannis for vacation. Will definitely try another location when we come across in our travels.
The service was really good and Me and My
Friends really enjoy ed our dinners. I ordered the veggie burger and it tasted great.
Good food, good service. The menu has some unique items on it that you won't find at other restaurants. They also change the menu on a regular basis, so there are often new dishes to try.
We have gone to Not Your Average Joe's many times. We were in Hyannis for a quick trip around lunch time and decided to go to have their tuna wontons which is an appetizer. This is definitely large enough to share and one of our favorites. That with two glasses of wine was a perfect lunch.
One of our favorites on the Cape. Never disappointed with the food or the service. Menu adds seasonal items throughout the year, so it's never the same-old-same-old.
Me and My friend both started off with the side order of the Cescer salad, it was the best I've ever had.For My Entrée, I ordered the Sweet blue burger, My friend ordered the pasta Fornue with four cheeses and sausage. Both dishes were really good.Took home leftovers.
Not for formal dining, but always a great choice for a good meal and lively atmosphere. We love to head over for happy hour and half price apps. Wine list is good and bartender is always very friendly.
I made a reservation and I was seated promptly. The food was delicious and the noise level was fairly low for this type of restaurant.
Only problem worth noting here is the fact that the staff was unable to redeem an OpenTable gift certificate
Food was very good, service was very average at best.
Similar to TGI Fridays...
The Hyannis NYAJs is attached to the Cape Cod Mall so patrons tend to be families more so than the other NYAJ restaurants.
The food prep was good, but also not as good as The NDartmouth site. Their usually delicious bread was slightly undercooked and over salted.
The chicken picatta was flavorful but the pasta texture was a bit rubbery. The chicken was very good. Our waitress was friendly and efficient although she was very busy.
I'll save my visits for the NDartmouth site. Overall our dinner was just okay.
Always enjoy NYAJ! Love the bread and dipping oil. Their oysters are the best!
Usually we have been highly impressed with the food, but this time the fish obviously was cooked some time before serving, the mashed potatoes were dry - Probably prepared long before serving or left on the warming table too long. The cole slaw had an unfamiliar and unflavorful dressing - the waiter promptly returned with substitute vegetable that was very tasty.
Best part about NYAJ...is that they comp you when things go sideways. And almost everything did this meal. Apparently, as the hostess/manager explained, "we went from a $9,000 hour to a $16,000 hour in about 90 seconds." OK, thanks for sharing your financials - TMI. What she was referring to was the fact that the restaurant, and consequently kitchen, was deluged with orders in a very short window of time, and evidently, most of those orders came into one station. So a meal that otherwise would have been at the table in 10-12 minutes took nearly 40, and one of the dishes - fried chicken - was grossly overcooked (or perhaps overbaked under the heat lamp while the second part of the order caught up). Thankfully, we had a wonderful young waiter who was glib and funny and kept us entertained. He ended up (with management's approval, I'm sure) comping our dessert and removing the chicken from the bill. So at least the experience - flawed as it was - only cost the price of a burger and a handsome tip.
Look, I'm not out to ruin businesses unless there is genuine rudeness or seriously bad food involved, and neither was the case here. But I write reviews like this to inform this particular restaurant - both in Hyannis and at other NYAJ locations - that they have some logistics issues they need to address in order to bring fresh, hot, properly prepared meals to the table in a timely way. That said, I commend them for their policy of making customers whole when problems interfere with a full enjoyment of the meal.
