Not Your Average Joe's Glen Mills Ratings and Reviews
Took son for his birthday (27). He enjoyed his pizza with leftovers for lunch. I am celiac, and was provided bread (warm) and my own dipping plate. Excellent GF chicken parm. with GF pasta. It's a drive for us, but well worth it to eat a meal with others and not be worried about cross contamination. #glutenfreefindgoto
As a gluten free diner, it is nice to find a restaurant that has so many menu choices. The gluten free focaccia bread is wonderful and the staff is attentive and sensitive to food allergies. This location is outstanding! We have visited another location that was a letdown in comparison
Best gluten-free bread I've ever had (they get it from Gillian's in MA). Outstanding jambalaya. Lots of gluten-free options. Menus is extensive, and everything is very good. Our servers were attentive, and the manager, Logan, was attentive also. Will be going back again, and again.
Although our waitress was lovely, she was over the top “attentive” which drives me batty!
We tried to tell her nicely we wanted to chat a bit before we ordered but she ignored our request. She seemed experienced enough, no diners were waiting to be seated...oh well.
Our service team of T and T was amazing. The girls did a fantastic job on service and didn’t miss a single beat. Impressive since their section was full and included two larger parties. I was really impressed with their efficiency and friendliness. Such a pleasant experience!
The food this visit was just ok. We come here often and particularly look forward to the seasonal menus, which we always try to order off of. I tried the Seafood Alfredo and there really was no flavor to the dish. On paper it had potential, but I was very disappointed. It needed salt...and I never add salt to my food. It just seemed off. The shrimp was tough as well. I would not order that dish again! I wish I had tried something else. My husband enjoyed his meatloaf, but didn’t enjoy the cooked carrots it came with. They were a bit chewier than he was expecting for cooked carrots. This was a seasonal menu fail for us, but we’ll be back to try our regular menu favorites soon.
I recently went to Not Your Average Joes for a friend's birthday celebration. Our server was fantastic, she was right there when we needed her, knowledgeable about the menu, and had lots of great recommendations! The food and drinks were incredible, and there were lots of options for everyone. Would definitely recommend this place!
I have been here often because they have a gluten free menu and are very knowledgeable. This time around, I was very disappointed with my salad. All lettuce and not enough “stuff”, and very small. My shrimp with mushrooms in lobster cream sauce was good. Could have used more shrimp and mushrooms. The value this time was not satisfactory
Food was fantastic! The bread & dipping oil are absolutely amazing!! Service is always great, as the servers are so attentive and want you to be happy! By the time I had bread and an appetizer, I could barely eat my meal, I was so full! But our server and the manager were so concerned that I wasn't happy with my meal, that they sent me home with a free meal! Awesome place!!
Great get-together place with friends. We went on a Monday night for their "buck-a-shuck" oyster promo and were disappointed/not. Great call on the restaurant's part NOT to serve oysters that were deemed spoiled on receipt. We'll try another night for that promo. Ahi tuna appetizer is great, especially on cucumber as an alternative to crispy wonton (tried both). The new scallop entree is really good, but we miss the braised pork shank from their previous menu. Attentive but not intrusive service. One of our go-to casual local restaurants.
My daughter and I enjoyed our visit here very much. Love the complimentary bread and oil and the portions were large. We both brought almost half of our food home for a second meal. The only thing to be aware of is that the lunch menu is not offered on Sunday.
My husband and I went to NYAJ's for an informal lunch for my Birthday. I just wanted something simple to eat this year and recalled their NACHO AVERAGE NACHOS.............the last time I was there. They were good this time, but not great like the last time. I have noticed this before there does not seem to be quality control on some things. My husband tried the Pork Chop. He said it was good, but a little too dry for his taste. Overall this time food was just good. Not outstanding. Our waiter seemed like a fairly nice guy, but really had no personality and often was not in sight because it appeared that he was taking care of too many tables all over the restaurant. I passed on dessert. We would go again, but my expectations have come down a notch or two.............
J.t. was an amazing server and is very good at his job, smart thinker in the aspect that he saw my friend had a gluten free menu and immediately said ill go get you gluten free bread without hesitation. Im very picky with restaurants and never fill these out but he deserves it. Collin the busser was also very nice.
Did not have our high top table for 2 as reserved and confirmed upon arrival for set reservation. Took 20 minutes to have our wines served. Dinner came out before our appetizer . When app came out it was missing the dressing. Overall the waiter was accountable for the serve and apologized. Manager and General Manager made a table visit. I had a birthday discount to apply to the bill they gave us the entire meal for free. The entrees were absolutely healthy and delicious! We will give them another visit.
Atmosphere and location is great! Server was attentive and apologetic. Chicken parm was brought out twice literally burnt. Sweet blue burger sounded great but had no flavor. Food was huge let down especially when my home cooked food is better. Couldn't help but wonder if someone there actually tastes what they are serving but it was obvious they do not. A true disappointment.
Service was great, friendly staff. Food was completely average or below average. First time here for all four of us and very doubtful we will return. Although the bread and oil combo was extremely tasty, it's an expected per appetizer.
As an example, the sirloin tips were seriously a joke and ripoff, tough, chewy and way too peppered.
We always have a great experience at NYJ but today the food wasn't good. Service was great, but I do not recommend the Tuna Niçoise salad, way over-dressed and the tuna was poorly done (like it was made a day ago and refrigerated so it was dark in color not the pretty light reddish pink a perfect seared tuna should be). Go for the Greek salad instead, I shouldn't have tried something new.
Not your average Joe's has a nice menu selection which will satisfy many tastes/requests/needs. The food was all very good -- and the bread served with the meal is excellent, and the dipping sauce provided is even better!
Good bar selections, and nice atmosphere for many occasions. Price is reasonable for the quality of food/drink received.
My husband and I ate an early dinner last friday. Lots of gluten free options. I appreciated that, even though it was dinner time, they gave me the lunch portion price bc I only wanted a smaller portion of steak. The chicken lettuce cups were really fresh and light and a generous portion to share. The steak, cooked medium was tender. My husband liked his jambalaya. We went to the one in Glen Mills. Would definitely go back.
My mom has celiacs and she was so excited to get tomato soup! Sounds lame but she hasn't had it in years! Then she found out they had gluten free carrot cake and was overjoyed! She said it was delicious! And the bread too...she wants to get the recipe because it's so much better than what she makes.
