The appetizers came out with the meal - some of the hot food was cold - there was a pungent seafood smell - I have been to seafood restaurants many times and have not had such a visceral reaction to the smell ever before. The waitress was very good and really tried but the overall experience will not have me or my friends back to the restaurant.

Our dinners came out exactly as ordered. I had a deconstructed pulled pork sandwich as I didn’t want the roll. It was delicious snd perfect. My husband had a burger with cheddar and caramelized onions. Cooked medium just as ordered. Newly trained Corey checked back with us frequently. The only negative was the torn seat covers in the booths. One was worse than the next.

Hostess was clearly doing other things & was bothered by having to check us in - we came in earlier than our reservation & wanted to have a drink in the bar while waiting for our friend. Bartender Kaitlyn was great!! Super knowledgeable & made great drinks. When our friend came went back to the hostess stand to ask if we could have a table in the bar….she was again busy making a table for a large group & ignored me. Finally someone else came up & helped us. Rating would have been a 5 if not for ether hostess , actually probably should have been a 3 overall, but we liked the bartender.

Waitress was very thoughtful and attentive, even brought a separate cheese-less bread dipping sauce for my wife without our asking. I had the fish and chips, which were somewhat overcooked and quite “bready.” When I was done, my plate was filled with fried dough that contained no fish. This is a quality restaurant, and I’m sure they will do better next time.

My visit was not my best dining experience. I had the Impossible Burger. It came without trimmings -- no tomato, no lettuce, etc. Not worth the premium price. The draft beer was good. The service was fast and attentive. The restaurant decor was pedestrian -- it reminded me of a museum cafeteria.

Below Average Joe’s! I really wanted to enjoy this meal. Unfortunately the fundamentals just weren’t there. The disappointment begins as soon as you walk through the door as you are greeted with unpleasant smells. While difficult to describe it just smelled unclean. What did NOT greet you was a well staffed hostess stand. Walk into many other local restaurants (Bonefish, Coalfire, Outback, etc) and you are immediately greeted by one if not two smiling hostesses. At Joe’s the hostess seemed to be a manager who was absent. Back in the kitchen or busy managing something else. A properly staffed and managed restaurant knows the importance of not having a ‘jack of all and master on none’ trying to mismanage and disappoint. Next, the host asked us to wait while he insured our table was sanitized. Much appreciated. Except the table was sticky and didnt seem clean. My son informed me there was something sticky next to him in the booth. The table had a pronounced slope so the waitress cautioned us to be careful with our drinks so they don’t slide on the floor. She wasn’t kidding as throughout the meal we noted our glasses slipping towards the edge. Speaking of floor, there was a hunk of brick hard dried table bread under our table too. We went to the restrooms to wash ‘the sticky’ off my sons fingers and that was the end of any chance we would be returning. The bathroom was what I would expect from a downtown bar at 2am on a Saturday night. Smelly an unclean. It left you feeling as if the whole restaurant was dirty. The food itself might had been tolerable provided everything leading up to it wasn’t so repulsive. In real estate the 3 rules are location, location, location. In restaurants the 3 rules are presentation, presentation, presentation. The plating of the food was okay. But the restaurant itself did not present well. Smell, cleanliness, bathrooms, booth quality, the whole experience was bad. Overall the food was unremarkable. Waitress was superb!!!

Sold out of all corned beef specials for St Patrick’s Day by 6:00 p.m. Out of Guinness, out of wine, out of fish. Poor, slow service—waited for check in excess of 20 minutes after asking for it multiple times and finally retrieved server from kitchen to pay it. We used to frequent NYAJ’s almost weekly for happy hour or as a family but feel that the quality, menu and service has declined steadily over the pandemic and not bounced back. Super disappointed we chose to go here for the holiday after a marketing email.

I am not one to write a bad review, however, our experience was not good. I made a reservation for St Patrick’s Day, we met another couple for dinner to celebrate, drink a Guinness and have a corned beef meal. My husband and I arrived first, we were greeted by a nice server, we told him we were waiting for another couple. We sat there waiting, hoping he would come back and ask us if we would like to order a drink while waiting, no, that didn’t happen. when our friends arrived, it was at least 10-15 mins before he came over ( restaurant was not busy) , ok we thought now we can order some drinks, we all asked for a Guinness , he politely looked at us and told us they were out of Guinness, seriously? Then he proceeded to tell us they were out of the corned beef dinners! Really? It’s St Patrick’s Day! So we left, it wasn’t the servers fault, he was a nice young man. Aside from all of that, the table was sticky and smelled like a dirty dish rag. We won’t be returning. I know that it’s still a tough time for restaurants, I just don’t understand what happened to that location, it use to be a place we looked forward to going to.

Our server was fantastic and the food was really good as well, but their front door doesn't work and every time someone came in or out, we got an arctic blast. We did move a bit farther away and squished five of us to a table for 4 which made the temperature a bit better, but we still got cold blasts and it still was not a relaxing eating experience.

The food was first rate. Their New England Clam Chowder is as good as it gets, and my Tuna Poke' bowl was super. I think they're having trouble hiring wait staff because we did have to wait a bit. But, all in all, excellent.

The restaurant was called when we arrived. Our appetizer came out timely but we asked the server to take her time in placing our salad and dinner order. I think she did however the kitchen delivered both salad and main entrée simultaneously. We were under the assumption that they would be staggered.

The room was cold. The cole slaw and green beans did not have much taste. The cocktails were full of ice with little drink. The price seemed a little high. Overall, not a great value. I expected more from a place in the Kentlands.

Good place and casual. Food was good. However, vegetarian options are extremely limited - no vegetarian/vegan appetizers and only one item on the menu for vegetarians. A bit pricey for the portion sizes. Good one time place for us.

Not Your Average Joes is a "go-to" spot when dining with my three teenage boys and a group of 6-8 people. The drink menu is great and the food menu is expansive. It also has a vibrant bar scene for when I'm not with my boys, complete with a number of TVs for watching sports. Although I haven't dined in their heated outdoor section, there are TVs there too, so I assume it's great for groups during sporting events.

NYAJ in Gaithersburg is usually a solid choice for us, and this visit lived up to expectations. Service was good, food was good and came out quickly. No complaints. It's been a while since we've been there, but we did note that the menu seems simplified with less choices overall. We easily found something we both wanted, so more of an observation vs a complaint.

Joe’s is still a good option, but with the smaller menu and without the good crowd vibes, it’s just not as much fun right now. The Buffalo Chicken pizza was great and so was my Maple Old Fashioned. The side salad and chicken Parmesan were ok but a bit pricey for what you got.

I know servers' jobs are difficult, but our server was not having her best night. It was in the middle of the week in the middle of the winter so the restaurant was not busy. That said, she was not very attentive, e.g. I asked for another napkin but never got it, I asked for water and she never brought it, and she gave us an incorrect receipt. She just seemed harried and not too organized. We gave her a 20% tip because where you get seated and who your server is a just a matter of luck and it is possible she was being asked to do more than she could handle. Most importantly, the food was delicious though and that is why we chose the restaurant.

The gluten free mustard chcken was terrible. The dish looked so bad it should not have been sent out to the table. Their excuse was that they had to cut it up to put in the pan. It was also so overdone. If they can’t make it right it should be taken off the menu. No one there would take responsibility. They had so many excuses. I cook gluten free at home and my chicken cutlets doesn’t look like that!
