Service. slow, food not has hot as it should have been, tasty but Luke warm .
Mother' Day reservation for 5 at 6pm. We didn't get seated until 6:30pm which is understandable. One of our burgers came out medium when we requested medium well. The mixed greens that came with it were wilted and rotted but we couldn't tell our waitress because she didn't come by to check on us until 10 mins after we got out food. Other than that, the other food was good and the restaurant had a nice ambiance.
Service was slow, but it was Mother's Day and the place was packed. Got the Vegetarian Eggs Benedict and it was pretty good, albeit not very filling.
Great local place for great food and service!!
Grilled salmon was poor....strange, chicken breast shape with little or no flavor....diappointing
Since my group of 3 was coming from different areas I was worried we would not be seated until everyone arrived. Not the case! Two of us arrived at the same time and the 3rd came after 15 minutes but our server was very nice to seat the two and then didn’t hurry us at all despite a busy restaurant.
I gave 5 stars for every category except food because I was surprised the spaghetti squash bolognese was tasteless. I added hot pepper and salt and it helped. I’m not sure what I should have expected for 360 calories but this was disappointing. Yes, fresh, quality ingredients as always. Just no taste.
The other area I gave a reduced star for was noise level. No help for it but you asked.
I love Joe’s. I return often and this does not discourage me. In fact, I love that you try different things.
FYI- those at my table loved the roasted Brussels sprouts and the couscous veg side dish was a big hit!
Good food, good drinks, good service. We enjoyed our meal.
Nice place, did not realize it was a chain restaurant but that didn’t matter, the food & service was great.
Always an enjoyable dining experience at NYAJ in Arlington!
Our server never checked if we were enjoying our dinner or ask if we needed anything after receiving our meals.
Not one of the best places to eat and the menu is very limited and those steak tips and boy do not have dentures are really tough and I have a full set of teeth.
Want be eating their again just no variety, but I gave three stars for the lemonade flavored drinks that's about it.
the coconut encrusted shrimp was fantastic. the haddock was cooked perfectly. the rasberry sorbet was a perfect end to a meal. the only complaint was that the coffee at the end of meal did not taste fresh. tasted like it had been sitting for some time and reheated. left a bad taste in my mouth.
the server was pleasant, friendly and attentive.
Very lovely meal with attentive server. Highly recommend the house margarita and the generous gluten free menu!!
Great little spot for a delicious and resonably priced meal. Our waitresss was fantastic. Very attentive but not over bearing. I had chicken piccata and my husband had scallops. Both meals were great and the peanut butter ice cream pie thing was also worth the splurge. I would definitely recommend restaurant.
Great meal before live theater, bread and almond crusted goat cheese salad with chicken was excellent. Unique selection of mixed drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Will be back again!
Once again it was a great dining experience at this location. Server was so nice and totally efficient and professional. Management was on top of their game, as always.
I appreciated the fact that they are donating 15% of your check total to the Boston Gay Men's Chorus during the month of March - just tell your server you're there to support the Chorus - simple as that!
The waitress was very good but the food was below average. We had meatloaf, fish, chicken and pasta, vegan dish and chacolate cake for dessert. The fish was okay but the other dishes were kind of awful.
We are regulars to the Arlington location, but it was very noisy and packed with babies and kids on our recent Friday night visit. This added to the excessive noise which didn't make for a relaxing meal. My favorite Waldorf salad was missing pecans and our server decided not to investigate or apologize for the over site.
Another simply perfect dinner here in Arlington - my favorite Not Your Average Joe's location even though I love them all. The new shrimp specials for Lent are amazing. I had the scampi and it was perfect. Service was superb and it's always nice to see manager Lauren who is never to busy to stop by and say Hello.
By the way - they are running a fundraiser during the month of March for the Boston Gay Men's Chorus. Tell your server you're there to support the Chorus and 15% of your check will be donated to them.
Food was yummy. Got Thai lettuce wraps as appetizer - generous portion and lots of flavor. Service was a bit slow, although maybe because th3 waitress was training a new waiter. I’d definitely go back and recommend to others
Joe's was very crowded and they were running behind on reservation times being able to be met. This trickled over to slower service and a couple of our entres' had to be sent back because they were cold.
Food was good.
We always have the best wait staff and the manager is very kind. Food always good.
Always good, always consistent. Love this place and the food preparation looks so fantastic.
A consistently good meal for a reasonably price
Food, service and great time were appreciated thank you.
Lovely ambiance for a very fair price. An easy Friday night out for a nice meal with friends.
Great food, great vibe. We love it for "date night" every Friday. Thanks! And thanks for your generosity last time we were in!
A spontaneous gathering with friends. It was all fine, food a little over-prepared. Server very professional.
Third time is not a charm. This is the third time I've given a benefit of the doubt. Big mistake. This is the third time I have had the most appalling meal at Not Your Average Joes, Arlington. I mean, how can a Greek Salad be so bad. I hope this gets posted someplace where folks will see it and avoid being terribly disappointed.
Family birthday dinner. Anna is an incredible server. Farro risotto was a little dry and chewy, but good flavor.
Booking the reservation was easy. They were ready to seat us on time. The service was excellent as well as the food being excellent. It was a perfect place for our family gathering. Would definitely recommend people going there as well as looking forward to our next visit.
First time there for many in my party, and they all enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Great place to meet for a family visit!
We were looking forward to our Saturday lunch at Joe's, when upon being seated and handed the new menu, realized that starting very recently, Joe's offers only the dinner menu all day Saturdays and Sundays. Which translates into very high prices for lunch entrees and apparently they are now dinner-sized portions at lunchtime. This is not a good idea for customers' pocketbooks or waistlines, and frankly it's pretty disappointing. So we ended up ordering a pizza, which was excellent. Joe's, are you trying to reduce patronage at lunchtime on Saturdays? Because if there is no Saturday lunch menu, we'll just stay away.
This is a local chain restaurant, but quite good. They serve crusty sourdough bread hunks with an EVOO dipping sauce unmatched by any Italian restaurant. They have a seasonal rotating menu of specials as well as old standbys and holiday specials. They also have a full line of brick oven fired pizza that is superb. This time we tried some of those specials and they were very good. At the Arlington location, parking can be a problem. There is curbside street parking as well as a public lot behind the restaurant that is always filled during the lunch period. No parking problem at night. Reservations during dinner hour via Open Table or their website is a good idea.
We LOVE the warm focaccia bread and oil . . . and the chicken piccata is my personal favorite!
All great thank you
I had a reservation and still had to wait almost 20 minutes to be seated and then another 10 minutes before any one approached our table for service. I realize it was busy but what is the point of making a reservation? The hostess was telling people who had no reservation that there was a 25 minute wait.
Enjoyed another pleasant dinner with server Rebecca and manager Desmond. The food was "off the hook" - Pork Chop extra delicious and Buffalo Chicken pizza can't be beat
I have been going to NYAJ of-and-on for 10+ years. The quality of the food has declined, and the price has gone up some 70 percent. It is clearly not worth the money anymore.
Fosso family atmosphere
