Northeast Social, in Minneapolis, crafts modern American cuisine with French inspiration and technique in its contemporary and inviting restaurant. The spicy mussels with miso barbecue sauce and the French baguette with garlic butter make warming and sharable appetizer selections. Some of Northeast Social's most inventive entrée dishes include the seared tile fish with ginger polenta cake in a fish fume, the pumpkin gnocchi with butternut squash, chestnuts and cranberries in a sage cream sauce and the grilled young chicken in rosemary creme and blueberry glace served with wild rice, all of which are perfectly seasoned. Sandwiches, such as the braised pot roast with carrot-horseradish sauce on a pretzel bun and the half-pound beef burger with cheddar fondue, are superb for a more casual option.
Should you wish to end your dining experience at Northeast Social on a sweet note, enjoy the decadent dark chocolate bread pudding.
The market fish special was delicious and I had the Para Mi Amor drink and it was delectable and refreshing! Three generations loved every bite and and the noise level was loud enough to be cozy and soft enough that my grandma could hear everything we said.
The food was excellent. Very very good rack of lamb. Service was also excellent. Only problem was the noise level. I hadn't seen my friend in awhile and we had lots to talk about but we had to keep yelling at one another.
The waiter was excellent. The food was very good. Wine list is a bit small but was adequate. I like that this place is in the Nordeast. It's a good place to go.
A great standby that I often forget about but am so happy that I rediscovered! The atmosphere is great and the food is really outstanding. I am planning on going back ASAP to make sure I get another serving the the mussels with the miso-barbeque sauce. Seriously outstanding.
Excellent steak and Mushroom Bruschetta. Decent crab sandwich.
Ahi Tuna special was unpleasant mishmash of flavors, warmish fish atop cold puréed too sweet corn and cold chunks of cooked celery and onion. Arugula salad mostly lettuce with no sign of the accompanying ingredients. Both dishes felt way overpriced for such amateurish fare.
Our group at a great time at Northeast Social. Service was friendly and prompt. Food and drinks were excellent. The space is very inviting and comfortable. We will be back.
The food is always deliciuos here, I think it is pricey though, especially for the amount given. I like to dine outside; at this establishment, I feel crowded. It is not cozy at all. I don't want to hear other conversations, or have others hear mine! The inside dining experience is a sensory overload as to the loudness. Can be super loud and hard to hear person I am dining with. The other day when we went, it was wsrmwarm outside, but to sit inside was unbearably cold!! The woman's bathroom is too dark; maybe change the decore....
Fantastic food and great service. Start of a great night. Highly recommended. Long time customer.
Excellent food! Wine list could be improved. Duck appetizer was amazing.
Scallops are amazing
Strong Bloody Marrys and typical brunch food make this a Northeast Minneapolis gem.
Not the first time there nor will it be the last. Food was very good as always. Our server was outstanding, as always. I forget how noisy the place can get, especially when there is a large group of young women celebrating something or other with a liberal amount of beverage fueling the enthusiasm. My business guest, who is Brazilian now living in Spain, loved it, including the noise level! I like taking guests to this place to showcase a unique neighborhood in Minneapolis when dining with a client who is not local.
Charming neighborhood restaurant with a cozy and welcoming vibe. Had their delicious burger with caramelized onions and cheese fondue topping, along with a side salad with roasted veggies. Everything was very, very good and we will definitely return to Northeast Social! Yum!
My wife had their hamburger - it was outstanding with perfectly caramelized onions. The fries are the thin crispy kind perfectly fried and salted. I had one of the small plates - two lamb chops with a potato and artichoke hash. The chops were delicious - well seasoned with quite a bit of garlic which I love. They have a really good selection of wines by the glass - I had the Spanish Rioja that went very well with my chops. We would definitely come back.
Interesting menu at first glance but it was over-engineered in my opinion. Their Bloody Mary tastes like it has a full spice rack dumped in it -- which is true as they proclaim it to have 16 different herbs and spices (about 8-10 too many). We had brunch food which we found fair and nothing special. With all the great options in the metro, I don't see myself going back.
This is some of the best food I have ever had. If you try this restaurant and like it I highly recommend their sister restaurant eat street social.
Place is great!
Great food! Great drinks!
