Northeast Social, in Minneapolis, crafts modern American cuisine with French inspiration and technique in its contemporary and inviting restaurant. The spicy mussels with miso barbecue sauce and the French baguette with garlic butter make warming and sharable appetizer selections. Some of Northeast Social's most inventive entrée dishes include the seared tile fish with ginger polenta cake in a fish fume, the pumpkin gnocchi with butternut squash, chestnuts and cranberries in a sage cream sauce and the grilled young chicken in rosemary creme and blueberry glace served with wild rice, all of which are perfectly seasoned. Sandwiches, such as the braised pot roast with carrot-horseradish sauce on a pretzel bun and the half-pound beef burger with cheddar fondue, are superb for a more casual option.
Should you wish to end your dining experience at Northeast Social on a sweet note, enjoy the decadent dark chocolate bread pudding.
The market fish special was delicious and I had the Para Mi Amor drink and it was delectable and refreshing! Three generations loved every bite and and the noise level was loud enough to be cozy and soft enough that my grandma could hear everything we said.
The food was excellent. Very very good rack of lamb. Service was also excellent. Only problem was the noise level. I hadn't seen my friend in awhile and we had lots to talk about but we had to keep yelling at one another.
The waiter was excellent. The food was very good. Wine list is a bit small but was adequate. I like that this place is in the Nordeast. It's a good place to go.
A great standby that I often forget about but am so happy that I rediscovered! The atmosphere is great and the food is really outstanding. I am planning on going back ASAP to make sure I get another serving the the mussels with the miso-barbeque sauce. Seriously outstanding.
Excellent steak and Mushroom Bruschetta. Decent crab sandwich.
Ahi Tuna special was unpleasant mishmash of flavors, warmish fish atop cold puréed too sweet corn and cold chunks of cooked celery and onion. Arugula salad mostly lettuce with no sign of the accompanying ingredients. Both dishes felt way overpriced for such amateurish fare.
Our group at a great time at Northeast Social. Service was friendly and prompt. Food and drinks were excellent. The space is very inviting and comfortable. We will be back.
The food is always deliciuos here, I think it is pricey though, especially for the amount given. I like to dine outside; at this establishment, I feel crowded. It is not cozy at all. I don't want to hear other conversations, or have others hear mine! The inside dining experience is a sensory overload as to the loudness. Can be super loud and hard to hear person I am dining with. The other day when we went, it was wsrmwarm outside, but to sit inside was unbearably cold!! The woman's bathroom is too dark; maybe change the decore....
Fantastic food and great service. Start of a great night. Highly recommended. Long time customer.
Excellent food! Wine list could be improved. Duck appetizer was amazing.
Scallops are amazing
Strong Bloody Marrys and typical brunch food make this a Northeast Minneapolis gem.
Not the first time there nor will it be the last. Food was very good as always. Our server was outstanding, as always. I forget how noisy the place can get, especially when there is a large group of young women celebrating something or other with a liberal amount of beverage fueling the enthusiasm. My business guest, who is Brazilian now living in Spain, loved it, including the noise level! I like taking guests to this place to showcase a unique neighborhood in Minneapolis when dining with a client who is not local.
Charming neighborhood restaurant with a cozy and welcoming vibe. Had their delicious burger with caramelized onions and cheese fondue topping, along with a side salad with roasted veggies. Everything was very, very good and we will definitely return to Northeast Social! Yum!
My wife had their hamburger - it was outstanding with perfectly caramelized onions. The fries are the thin crispy kind perfectly fried and salted. I had one of the small plates - two lamb chops with a potato and artichoke hash. The chops were delicious - well seasoned with quite a bit of garlic which I love. They have a really good selection of wines by the glass - I had the Spanish Rioja that went very well with my chops. We would definitely come back.
Interesting menu at first glance but it was over-engineered in my opinion. Their Bloody Mary tastes like it has a full spice rack dumped in it -- which is true as they proclaim it to have 16 different herbs and spices (about 8-10 too many). We had brunch food which we found fair and nothing special. With all the great options in the metro, I don't see myself going back.
This is some of the best food I have ever had. If you try this restaurant and like it I highly recommend their sister restaurant eat street social.
Place is great!
Great food! Great drinks!
Good food at a reasonable price. The small plates were big enough to be entrées, so a small plate and a salad was perfect for about $24. The place was pretty noisy -- all reflective surfaces. Service was really good. Overall, though, not an exceptional dining experience.
We have been here numerous times and keep going back because the food and the service never disappoint. There is always something truly special about the "specials" (unlike places that try to make something out of whatever needs to sell before it expires). The staff never ceases to make us feel welcome and appreciated. We just went with family and every one of us was delighted with our food. The gnocchi is ridiculously good, as are the mussels AND the rosemary panna cotta! But don't go, because I would like to continue to get in without a reservation from time to time ; )
We loved the food at Northeast Social, from the delicious roasted vegetable salad which our server generously split for us to the gnocchi which was not split for some reason. We ordered a side of French bread as no bread basket is provided.
Our only complaint is the noise level. Because we both have some hearing issues, noisy restaurants are harder for us. I asked to be seated in a quiet corner but instead we were put in a table for two between two very loud parties. They came later, so we didn't feel we could ask to move. We had thought about going back for dessert after our concert at the Ritz next door, but decided against it because of the noise.
Very loud which leads to not having a conversation. Other then this the drinks and food are amazing! Staff was excellant!
It is a small intimate space and the service was great. I loved the scallops with a pea and mint puree. It was on the small plates menu- 2 LARGE scallops that were presented beautifully.
Great place to relax and enjoy good food.
if you enjoy outside dinning, this is a place for you. There is not a lot of room inside but it is still a great place.
We went here for Mother's Day brunch. It was great. Our food was excellent. $7 mimosas and $10 bloody mary's. They also have homemade soda for kids for $4 (I do wish there were free refills on those). My son loved his ginger, hibiscus, lemon soda and slurped it up really fast! I also wish they had a kids menu but they have a simple menu with something for everyone. My son found a basic breakfast of eggs, potatoes, toast and bacon (he doesn't eat meat so he gave that to my mom) for $8. I had a veggie skillet which was absolutely delicious. I do tend to like cheese on everything I can but they don't have shredded cheese available. I ate about 1/3 of my meal (which is about the norm for me). When I heated up my meal the next day and added some cheddar cheese, it was perfect! They even sent over a complimentary panna cotta for dessert! Heaven!
We shared 2 appetizers of scallops and lamb chops and 4 dinners including burger, pasta, fish and beef - all were outstanding! A casual neighborhood restaurant with sophisticated menu and drinks - we will be back!
Perfect summer vibe here with the open windows and additional outside seating. Part Nordeast and part Parisian bistro we had a great time. Interesting cocktail menu and their homemade sausages and fabulous great could be a meal itself.
Wonderful menu, fantastic service and charming atmosphere! Highly recommend!
So glad to have a spot so near Theater Latte Da's new permanent home that we will love to dine at again and again.
Service and amabiance was excellent. The old fashioned was the best I've ever had and the burger was the best in a very long time. The scallops and salad were also excellent.
We will be back.
It was such a wonderful experience, the cocktails, the care, the food - everything was topnotch. We even met the owners who once they learned we were celebrating brought us special cocktails. I absolutely love the NE social club.
Excellent Old Fashioned! The mixology is good. My companion has a special seasonal drink that was also great!
Love the place!
We couldn't have had a more enjoyable dining experience. Fantastic vibe and fun neighborhood. We were fortunate to have a warm spring evening and decided to eat outside, which made the experience even better. Three of us each ordered something different, and each of us were fully delighted with our meal. Excellent place to eat before a show at the Theater Latte Da. I am looking forward to return soon!
pre-theater dinner. it was perfect. festive atmoshpere. carefully prepared, attentively served. actually can't wait to go back.
Standard amazingness...Thank you!
Cocktails (Old Fashions), yum. Radicchio salad, yum. Seafood soup, yum. Red grouper entrée, yum. (No room for dessert.) We'll be back, yummmmmmmmmmm!
Food was very good... Not necessarily outstanding but good, solid quality.
Service was excellent (we closed the place down, and waitstaff was incredibly patient, refilling our water glasses continuously and not rushing us).
