North Star American Bistro-Brookfield Ratings and Reviews
Not as good as it's been in the past. Good but certainly not great.
We both have a different salad to start and both we're very good but certainly on the small side for $9.00.
I was disappointed that they didn't have any Vegetarian options. They did oblige me and made me a plate of steamed broccoli with some red peppers and sautéed mushrooms on the side. Nice but not very creative or exciting. I can certainly make my own steamed broccoli easily at home.
My husband had the skirt steak and found it not very flavorful and was quite disappointed overall with his meal. He found it pretty bland
Our service at the bar and table was good but the food was just ok.
My wife and I come here on a pretty regular basis for the Friday Fish Fry. The food is always fantastic and the service is always great as well. We had our rehearsal dinner here as well a couple years ago and they were extremely accommodating for that as well. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great fish fry, or a great meal.
An employee showed us to our table. This individual, Jessica, also was our assigned as our server. Before we even took off our coats and were actually seated, she attempted to
take our drink order. The service was otherwise efficient, but Jessica has a loud and abrupt
demeanor. This put a damper on our overall lunch experience. Training needed here.
We like this place. The food quality is very good and the prices reasonable. The ambiance is quite fine especially if you are along the wall or in the back room.
The chicken Parmesan risotto was outstanding as was the butternut squash soup. Not too fancy but quite delicious nonetheless.
Having dined here probably 10 times over the years I can honestly say every experience has been good. This restaurant has staying power.
We really like this place and dine here about every month or so. The dinners are always great. This time the family and I went for brunch on Sunday and it was a hit for all. I tasted the Eggs Benedict and the corned beef hash and liked them both. I had the Southwest Skillet and it was great.
I heard they had a great Friday fish fry and it was spot on!! The fish was delicious and they know how to make a good potato pancake (It's not thrown in a deep fryer). The fish I took home tasked great reheated and wasn't greasy at all. We all truly enjoyed our dinners and hope that you do too. Give it a try.
Our experience was great. The food was exceptional. I had an omlet on special with Swiss cheese, asparagus, tomato, and lox and hollandiase on top. It was truly delicious. The service was great and our server was very helpful at answering our questions and meeting my sisters vegan accommodations. Also, the scones were very yummy!
The waitstaff was very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food selections were varied and extremely tasty with reasonable sized portions. The initial bread tray, while being light on quantity, was very good. The bruschetta was somewhat different from most places and very good. And who wouldn't like banana/chocolate chip bread pudding for dessert?
We celebrated my husband's birthday and everything was wonderful. When we first arrived the temperature in the restaurant was VERY cool and when we asked if the air could be turned down a bit they complied immediately. I love the menu because the dishes are creative without being too off the chart. We will definitely be back!
