   Overall, it was a fair experience. Though, the front desk needs help. Apparently, when you make a reservation, you are listed for a specific table. If the previous diners linger, you have to wait. It is not appropriate when you have a reservation and have plans afterward.

   Great service and fairly pleasant atmosphere. However, the food was some of the worst I’ve had while eating at a restaurant. It looks good on paper - something like new American/farm to table leaning - but it’s prepared like your average 24 hr diner: from breading and deep frying most appetizers while somehow still managing not to season anything, to not understanding how to prepare fish. If you are looking for a place that’s a bit more upscale, that understands the ingredients and sources quality, this is not it. Hard pass.

   Had a lovely Easter dinner as a family last night. The service and quality of food had the feel of a fancy restaurant without the steep price point I would expect for a meal of this nature. It was a wonderful meal.

   Always a great experience at here. My only suggestion is it would be nice to have a few chairs with arms available upon request. north star is so accommodating I think it would be just another plus. So many older clients love to go out but the lack of arms on chairs really make it tough. If one could request arm chair in reservation I know it would be successful. Anyone with Parkinson, MS, arthritis or just old age understands this.

   Unfortunately, they tried hard to fix the problem but ended up making it worse. The fish and cole slaw were delicious. The potato pancakes we ordered were substituted with fries. Then someone came and told us they were out of the pancakes. The manager offered something else to make up for it and we agreed to have a dessert. The dessert never came. In fact, we never saw our server again. After waiting an inordinate amount of time, we put cash on the table and left.

   Had dinner at North Star last night. Two of us. Overall a good experience. For the most part the food was good, the service as well, and the ambiance / noise level was very good for having a quiet dinner conversation - so rare in restaurants these days. We shared an appetizer fried eggplant and zucchini that was presented in a nice “Jenga-like” fashion. It came with three dipping sauces. A marinara, a horseradish cream and an aioli. Sadly either the cook rushed it in the deep fryer or the fryer temp was too low as the batter, which should be crispy was rather soggy and oily. Of the sauces the aioli was by far the best. Marinara is marinara and the horseradish cream only had a hint of horseradish and therefore was a bust. The aioli was excellent - I’d just get that if I were to order the appetizer again. Skip the horseradish. For mains we had a beet and goat cheese salad with a topping of salmon that I heard was quite delicious and very well prepared. I can say the exact same for my chicken parm risotto with the breaded chicken done to perfection while the risotto had the right creamy texture and some flavorful mushrooms. I’d absolutely get that again. The place was not full but didn’t seem overly busy either. I suspect our server, who was nice and professional may have had most of the tables in the place as she did not check back after serving our mains until it was time for the bill. My companion mentioned that it looked like she had most of the restaurant, although I did see at least one other server and there was a greeter. Could tighten that part of the process up a bit. The restaurant is smallish with about half the space taken up by a bar. Not quite a supper club feel but leans in that direction with private booths and decent separation between tables. The design of the floor walls and decor lends itself to having a normal conversation - no shouting over the music the patrons or any TVs. I really liked that. This is a place I can recommend.

    This was our first time eating here. Overall experience was good. Good variety of cocktails and goat cheese spinach salad was delicious. Food came out very hot. I would recommend.
