We dined outdoors due to COVID restrictions and it was about 37 degrees. It was a challenge but we got through it. It wasn't exactly the experience we were looking for but the service was good, the food was great, and there were all kinds of people and critters running by to keep us entertained.
The food was decent. For a previous Michelin star restaurant I expected a bit more or a bit better. Overall it was good.
One of our favorite restaurants in the country. Everything is perfect-the food, ambiance, service. we can wait to get back to North Pond!
The Tasting menu with paired wines was excellent; the server, was very good
Great we always enjoy dining here
The setting and food are second to none. A beautiful restaurant.
Absolutely phenomenal!
The food was good but honestly not SPECTACULAR. The service was good but having to keep the mask on all the time even at your table when not eating, I could’ve done without. I understand putting it on when staff is around but going overboard makes the experience slightly unpleasant.
The wine tasting was good. The place is VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND especially for visitors to Chicago and at night. There really should be a sign on the street since this place is hidden on a hill in a park.
The service and setting were superb. The food out of the kitchen was beautiful, but a little uneven. One or two dishes that could’ve use the acid had virtually none; at least three of the dishes were a bit oversalted - and this is coming from someone who loves salt; the halibut was significantly overcooked. Of the eight dishes we tried, perhaps only the sunchoke custard dish seemed to get just about everything absolutely right. I say “just about” because even that dish could probably have used a little acid. Otherwise, the flavor profile, textures, and presentation of that dish were spot on.
I was sincerely wowed by the brunch menu. The coffee and rose cocktails were also superb. We can't wait to go back!
An utter gem and a very special place. So happy they're surviving.
It was the best experience! Food and service were great! My wife definitely enjoyed it. We’ll be back for sure.
please return to an a la carte menu; serve lunch on weekdays--
Everything was good just took a lil while to get drinks ... and it was a bit cold inside the restaurant but other then that very nice
Go here. Everything tops
We had such a great night at North Pond! The food is incredible and the service was amazing. We will definitely be back.
Didn't feel the food was worth the price. Nothing memorable for food or wine. Mask rules and enforcement made the dining experience unenjoyable. Needed to put on a mask for waiters to pour water at the table. Normally from my experience masks are only worn until you are sitting versus every time the staff approaches your table. And all of them were wearing their own masks.
Despite the pandemic and the retirement of iconic chef Bruce Sherman, North Pond hasn’t missed a beat. Amazing food, great service and an absolutely beautiful space makes this a perfect celebratory experience.
My wife’s fish was over cooked. Service wasn’t as friendly or attentive as it should be. All in all it was very good but not what I expect from a Michelin restaurant.
For my wife and I's first date night outside home since the pandemic began, this was an absolute treat. They do a great job with distancing and covid-protections, and the service was impeccable. Our waitress was a delight. Most importantly, the tasting menu was perfect. We each made different selections so we could try it all, and there wasn't a single dish that could've been better. HIGHLY recommend going before it's too cold to sit outside!
Good food, small portions, accommodating of allergies!
We were seated outside (by request) and our meal took 3.5 hours for 5 courses. We had to go inside to get help three times from our server. Crazy disappointed in the service. The food was amazing, as anticipated and the price was very cheap for the food quality. Over priced for the service.
The chef is positively inspired. His cuisine is refined, imaginative without being gimmicky, and exquisitely presented, perfectly cooked. I've come back four times since July, to introduce different friends to his brilliant takes using ingredients rarely seen lately. I cannot find enough superlatives to describe the experience. It was not always like this...and I stopped going for many months, if not years.
Good but were sat in the very back like we were being hidden or something
Amazing. Best dining experience ever!
North Pond is a gem in Lincoln Park. Walking up to the building reminds me of Central Park. The food and service was amazing. I can't believe it took me so long to go there. I will be sure to return soon though.
We live nearby but have never had a meal at North Pond. We were missing out. Food and ambiance were great. We are outside on the patio and felt very safe with servers and neighboring tables. Everything on tasting menu was great, and paired wines really hit the mark. We will be back!
Post engagement brunch. The staff came out and said congratulations with champagne to celebrate and also provided a congratulatory message with the final course. Food was amazing and the staff was outstanding. It’s a fantastic place.
What a hidden gem in Lincoln Park. If you have a special celebration, the staff will make sure you enjoy it. The food and service were excellent.
Perfection. Our waitress Kelly was knowledgeable and attentive. Thanks to everyone for making our anniversary special. The food was the best!!!
The food presentation was very good, taste was delicious
Thank you for perfect birthday celebration 🎉
We loved everything
Loved it, beautiful atmosphere, great food and service
The view is wonderful. The food was absolutely amazing. The portions are small, but incredible flavor. Service was excellent including personalized menus and dessert plate for our anniversary. It is quite expensive, but worth it for a special occasion. They have also always accommodated my vegetarian diet with wonderful meals.
North Pond has a relatively new chef, but the food is still top notch, and of course the location can't be beat.
We had an amazing time for our anniversary dinner. The service is excellent and the food is worth every penny. Although we don't go frequently, it is absolutely worth the price for a special outing.
The service was excellent. A very quiet, professional atmosphere. The food was exceptional. All in all, a wonderful dinning experience
Added a surcharge for our cocktails due to higher volume of liquor needed (Manhattan & Cosmo)?? I have never heard of such a charge. Absurd.
My favorite restaurant in Chicago. Always wondered and never disappoints.

We had such a wonderful time! We have been here several times in the past when Chef Sherman was the chef. The restaurant has a new chef, Chef Cesar Murillo and not only was his food was amazing, he even comes with the crew to serve the food with them & explains the ingredients. We did not know he was the chef until we asked if we can ask him about some of the ingredients. He came to our table again and we even took a selfie with him. Such a down to earth guy! You can definitely feel and taste the difference. His food was exciting and amazing! Best foie gras I have had! The staff was also amazing! Shout out to Debbie who made our night so wonderful with her dessert and wine suggestions. We cannot wait to go back. Cannot wait to see what Chef Cesar Murillo and his team are up to next! Thank you North Pond!
