Outstanding in every way! This was our first visit and is now one of our favorite restaurants. We look forward to returning!!
Great place, food and service was outstanding. Definitely coming back soon!
If I could give North Pond a six star rating I would. Everything from the wine pairing to dessert was excellent. One of the best fine dining experiences my wife and I have had in a long while. This is not an inexpensive meal but its worth every dollar. I highly recommend trying North Pond.
This is a great place to celebrate a special occasion. For my husband's birthday, they created a custom menu with his name and wrote his name on his dessert. In addition to the most attentive service, the food was amazing.
This lunch was delicious, ample, and elegant. As usual. Since my friend and I are seniors we really appreciated being placed at a table which was quite distanced from other guests. The size of the servings is never too large - very European. One doesn't lose the ab slitty to taste from overeating.
North Pond is always awesome. We had a fantastic time celebrating my friend’s birthday
Beautiful setting with incredible food
Food choices too limited and it seems that ingredients are chosen to be creative instead of satisfying. I am a foodie and enjoy going to nice places but North Pond seems to be tryig too hard for their Michelin status and not enough on pleasing the patrons.
To the chef: Consider focusing on making good food better not on creating unusual concoctions.
In a word; Amazing! Our server, Jeff, was a joy to have and due to an scheduling snafu on my part when making the reservation and getting my dates mixed up, Loretta called to verify the reservation and although it was the day prior, she found a table for us and was more than charming. Food was just fantastic and the wine pairings spot on.
Great converted space hidden in Lincoln Park with superb food and service. The staff was intuitive, knowledgeable, and engaging. The first bite set the standard of sensation to the tastebuds. Patio season can’t come soon enough to enjoy the outdoor space.
I was blown away by Chef Cesar Murillo. The tasting was everything I expect from North Pond. The flavors and textures were perfectly executed.
Food was great as usual. Desert was terrible. Both desert options need major improvement. The third was the cheese plate which we did try. Chocolate was like a dry browny
Really lovely brunch. Good food, good service, lovely setting
Simple yet effective proposal in a beautiful setting. We had the Sunday brunch which is probably one of the best value for money proposals in the City. Very good food.
Service got a little erratic at one point, nothing serious but it wouldnt be fair to give it 5 stars.
In general I only refrain from giving 5 stars because I think thats for outstanding ones but this is a place to visit and come back to without doubt.
I just didn’t think the food was that good- especially for that price. We had brunch. My main course (cod) was not at all good- very salty and the fish was mushy and soggy. I think the food options were perhaps too much like dinner options. I don’t want to eat fish at 11am. Service was excellent- perhaps dinner might be a better choice. Location is very special.
Our first post-vaccination fine dining experience. Service was first rate. Tasting menu toggled between excellent and very good. Wine list a bit punk (we did not do the wine pairings), but we managed. Very happy it was open, and very happy with the overall experience.
Really, one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Chicago. I’ve dined at North Pond before, but it was my husband‘s first time. He’s a foodie and incredibly hard to please. He was very impressed with the dishes and how consistently wonderful each was. The flavor profiles, presentation, thoughtful wine pairing. All felt so mindfully and exquisitely fine tuned. Dining here really is an experience, and in my opinion, well worth the cost.
Always a memorable experience when dining at North Pond. Came to celebrate our belated anniversary, as my wife had not had the pleasure of dining here. Welcoming from the minute we walked in. Great personal touches added by the restaurant to make our special occasion memorable. Debbie was a perfect server and the 4 course meal was outstanding!!!
This place is fabulous for a special occasion. The service is excellent but not fussy the food is creative and beautifully presented. There was not a note that this place didn’t hit. Fantastic!
Was definitely a cool experience and we got to try a lot of new foods. Our waiter was great and the food was very good!
Food was terrible. I am not that discerning and it's been more than a decade since I've had a dish that I just couldn't force down. That was the case here. Every dish was either forgettable or distasteful. And the flavors were quite strong (pungent as my wife described) so the lack of flavor balance was more pronounced and off-putting.
The wine pairing was expensive and less than average.
Wanted to love it. Huge disappointment. And quite expensive (~$370 for two w/ tip).
Wonderful tasting menu, beautiful space to celebrate a special occasion.
Can't say enough nice things about our dinner. From the minute we were greeted upon arrival to the moment we left everything was fantastic. Our food was amazing and the attention to detail was impressive. We look forward to returning again soon.
We ditched a well-known highly-rated competitor and its new and odd eat-it-leave-it attitude for this one, and we sure were glad we did. We felt truly welcome and cherished, as customers. I had the 95 dollars four-course tasting menu: Thai Beet Salad, Black Bass, Strip Loin, and Coconut Dacquoise. My wife had the Thai Beet Salad, Ancient Grains Risotto, Cod, and the cheese plate. We sampled each other's dishes. I loved the Thai Beet Salad in particular: a fascinating exploration of textures, contrasting chewy, crunchy, and soft. But all dishes were excellent. The wine pairing at 45 Dollars was certainly a good deal, and the paired wines were well chosen. A view of the pond would have been wonderful, but the Art-Deco inside was special and beautiful to look at, plus we had a bit more privacy that way. We enjoyed it, highly recommended, would certainly come back.
Sublime, as always. It never disappoints. Naan with cauliflower, poached egg and sumac was flavorful with a beautiful presentation. The mustard greens with espelette vinaigrette woke up my taste buds! Pork loin was perfectly cooked with the freshness and acidic meyer lemon sauce.
My husband and I went to North Pond for my birthday. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Greeting us with a smile and taking our coats as we walked in. The bartender made a great old fashioned and offered up some history on the building. Our waiter followed suit and was pleasant and knowledgeable about the dishes and wine selection. Cute touch, they had printed Happy Birthday and my name on the menu. I anxiously awaited each course and pairing. The presentation was something out of a magazine. The flavors were bold and delicious. 4 courses and 3 amuse bouche surprises kept your palate dancing. The courses were timed perfectly and we relaxed and enjoyed ourselves throughout the meal. There’s a beautiful view of the city from a wall of windows. The crowd were impeccably dressed couples and small groups who all looked to be praising the food and atmosphere. This is fine dining. I will be back and I will be bringing friends. Thank you North Pond for a wonderful experience!
Too many tables in a small room. Not enough social distancing.
We had a lovely evening at North Pond celebrating my husband's birthday with our son and his girlfriend. We started with an excellent martini at the bar and then moved to a table near the fireplace. The room is so warm and welcoming.
Everyone was very attentive and professional throughout the evening and made the occasion special.
The menu choices were varied, well prepared and delicious. We will be back again!
The food and service were wonderful. My only wish was that all the tables had plastic partitions like the booths.
Always love going to North Pond. The tasting menus are exquisite and the service is always great. Everyone is kind and attentive.
The food and service were superb, and all COVID-19 protocols were followed without ruining the ambiance at all. Celebrated an anniversary and they went above and beyond to make it special.
The perfect spot to celebrate my husbands birthday. The food, architecture, and staff were amazing!
Incredible experience. We went here for our anniversary. The prix fixe menu was unbelievable and the ambiance is possibly the best in the city. I love this place.
This chef, who's got a remarkable career ahead of him and has only been at North Pond for under two years, is one of our favorites in the city. His subtle texture combinations and taste surprises are never disturbing or excessive. Always right on the mark, subtle and refined but intense. I have brought all my friends and colleagues here since he arrived and hope he never leaves! What a delight for both the palate and the eye. His visual compositions are elegant and do credit to the extraordinary culinary combinations.
As usual dining at North Pond was wonderful. There was only one other party there when we were there, so I hope that North Pond is doing okay financially. I felt very protected there. Will come again soon. Service was excellent - and masked.
Excellent food and excellent service- I'm so happy we can go back and eat there!
Lovely easter brunch. Excellent service & ambiance. Our family enjoyed the experience. The food was delicious. Creative dishes. Some of the desserts were overly sweet, so toning down the sugar rush at the end wouldn’t hurt.
North Pond is gem! The food was delicious and the wine pairings were spot on. We loved our evening there
