    Everything was great! Beautiful location! The restaurant sits in the middle of Lincoln Park at the edge of a small pond The food was incredible! It is definitely a splurge but would go back for special occasions

    Exec Chef and stellar contestant on of Top Chef Canada, Cesar Murillo doesn’t disappoint in taste or presentation. We had an exquisite and stunning brunch that displayed his incomparable and thoughtful focus on farm to table dishes (or rather rooftop to table—don’t miss a peek at the gorgeous garden atop the restaurant! ) Chef’s creativity knows no bounds. We tried nearly every dish on the three course brunch menu and were grateful for our servers’ exceptional knowledge and expertise in helping us decide what to order. Each dish was crafted with love and purpose. The vegetables were definitely the stars. As super fans of Top Chef we were delighted by Chef Cesar’s weekly challenges and the outstanding and unique dishes he created especially his pickled curd tart and dill ice cream. We were gobsmacked when Cesar brought us each a surprise dish of this splediforious dessert! It was even more delicious than we imagined it to be from the TV show. North Pond is a must visit whether you have lived in Chicago forever or are visiting for a quick trip. Hopefully you can get a reservation! We will certainly return but this first trip will remain a remarkable and incredible dining experience we can taste in our dreams for years to come. Shout out to server Liz who went above and beyond to elevate our dining experience with such kindness patience and joy. Chef Cesar and the staff at North Pond prove that fine dining is not only about the food but about creating an immersive warm welcoming unique experience from the moment you walk in the door. Thank you for this wonderful meal.

    This was the most creative, thought provoking food I have ever had. The meal was completely immersive and took me on a journey in a way that food never has before. Every dish showed Chef Cesar’s unique perspective and brilliance. Plus the service was next level, with extra touches throughout to make you feel special. This restaurant feels like a passion project in every detail. I highly recommend you celebrate your next special occasion here!

    We have celebrated more than one Wedding Anniversary at North Pond, and it has always been a wonderful experience. They made us feel "special," and the food was excellent, both in taste and in presentation.

    Great experience, from location to food to the service it was outstanding, Cesar’s food is worth the visit. What a humble , kind and open human being. Hats off to Jacob and the rest of the staff also. The experience made my daughter’s 29th birthday extra special.

    Every aspect of the evening was of the highest quality; food, ambiance, service, everything. The staff worked as a team with everyone well versed in the dishes unique preparations and made sure every guest was enjoying each course. Chef Caesar is so creative with the freshest ingredients of the day. Every bite was delicious combining wonderful flavors that you might not expect in perfect balance. A must for a special evening of the finest dining.

    What a beautiful evening to celebrate my wife Brenda's birthday. North Pond is a favorite restaurant, and we always think of it for special occasions. Over the years, we've seen this restaurant grow and evolve, and we've been fortunate to enjoy the food of chefs like Mary Ellen Diaz, Bruce Sherman, Danny Grant, and now, the brilliant César Murillo. We have never been disappointed. Just inside the front door, we noted the happy little bees in a display hive-tray at the end of the bar. We were immediately welcomed by John at the front of the dining room and ushered directly to a lovely, two-top table near the center of the room. Brenda had a view of the kitchen -- buzzing like those bees at the bar -- and various staff attentively got our meal started. What a stunning five-course tasting menu. As beautiful to look at as it was to eat. The hallmark of North Pond is farm-to-table (in part, their rooftop-garden-to-table), and every dish reflected that sensibility. We especially loved the chef's little surprises in addition to the menu. Starting with a little amuse-bouche take on Green Eggs and Ham. Fun and tasty. I was blown away by my main course, prosciutto-wrapped halibut. Glorious. Our server was attentive and friendly, as was all the staff, and the timing between courses was perfect. I'll finish my overlong review by singing the praises of Chef César Murillo and John Arendt. From front of house to kitchen to the dining room, there is a vibe here that is pleasant and welcoming. César came by our table and we chatted about Oaxaca. John even came outside in the heat to take a photo of us by North Pond as we were struggling with a selfie. They truly care that people have a good experience. Thank you, North Pond. We hope to return soon. ~Steve & Brenda
