We went to celebrate our anniversary and the restaurant rolled out the red carpet from the moment we walked in until we left. We ordered the prefix sampling menu with the wine pairing. The chef sent out 3 additional plates and an extra dessert for our celebration. When the night was over they packed up the custom menus, wine list, and history of the space. Chris, our waiter, was phenomenal, as was the entire staff. We will be back. They made our evening feel so special.
North Pond is my favourite restaurant in Chicago and in my top 3 in the US. The food is always creative, delicious and surprising. The beetroot and gin cocktail I had on Sunday is one of the best cocktails I have ever tasted. Every part of the meal is always a delight. The wine list is thoughtful and not egregious. The ambiance of the dining rooms is fantastic, beautiful view across the pond to the city. Wonderful cherry wood paneling on brick work. Always worth a visit here.
We had the tasting menu and the food was so delicious!! The cauliflower panna cota with caviar is a must try. The staff was so friendly and the atmosphere is beautiful. Would 100% recommend.
North Pond is one of the most beautiful restaurants in the city. The food was excellent, innovative and beautifully presented by an attentive server and staff.
Everything about this place is exceptional, from the history to the service and food.
Overpriced. For a predetermined menu, the wait times for food was way too long. Not anywhere worth the price I paid for me and my wife. Have had dozens and dozens of better meals for $400 in Chicago.
Didn’t know VD was fixed menu and heavily to seafood eithout options. First time Sitting near the kitchen, and it was loud
Great Michelin star restaurant!
We tried the tasting menu and it was excellent.
Everything was great service, food, ambiance! Great job guys!
Creative and complex flavors, gorgeous presentations, impeccable and warm service. Plus the views on a snowy day were so peaceful. Truly a memorable experience.
Great restaurant! Enjoyed the tasting menu. Got to see a coyote and a rabbit from our table and the fireworks of the city was wonderful.
We have been thinking about North Pond for many years are were quite excited to finally go there. Nice table and server to get started. Then the food came--I am sure many people like the combination of flavors but for us it was simply too much. The dessert dreadful. Sorry about this review as I choose to send good ones instead of complaining.
The food and drinks are always wonderful . We love the ambiance . The fireplace and view of the City make for a lovely evening
Went for my girlfriends birthday and we had such a great time while we were there. Everyone was very nice and informative. They even made a special menu design for my girlfriend to accommodate her birthday.
Wel thought out from the music, decorations and ingredients to the food.
Chris, our Server, was extremely professional and customer friendly. He has exceptional knowledge of the menu, the ingredients, and the wine offerings.
Service and food were perfect. Even a bit more impressive than in the past!
If you're looking for a fancy dinner, this is a great place.
Romantic ambiance, great food well presented, and absolutely fabulous service from everyone!
We took some friends out for a celebratory occasion. Every aspect of the meal was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was outstanding. And the restaurant is gorgeous and in such a lovely setting as we looked over the Chicago skyline. It was a very special evening.
The food was amazing with excellent service and a beautiful ambiance.
Fantastic food with an incredible staff. More casual than we were expecting. Highly recommended!
Fantastic brunch prix fix menu! Many options for each of the three courses. Food was delicious. Service was good. The bartender Grady is the best! Ask him for drink recommendations and he will surprise you!
Me and my husband had our one year anniversary brunch at north pond yesterday. My husband had the pheasant soup which really hit the spot on a cold day like yesterday. Delicious wholesome flavors for the soup. Then he had beef with carrot which was good. For me I had gulf shrimp which was very tasty. However, the highlight was the black bass, the bass fell apart in your mouth and everything that came with it was delicious, I wish I remember the name of the purée and the grains. Then I ended with the chocolate mousse which was delicious, especially with the caramelized banana and banana ganache. This was our first time here and we can’t wait to come back for another brunch or maybe dinner!
My favorite restaurant in Chicago. Idillic setting, delicious food, great ambiance, friendly, efficient service., low noise level conducive to conversation.
Beautiful setting. Spectacular food. (Though it was a special tasting menu of 8 courses - so perhaps not the norm.) Worth the $$$ for sure.
We really enjoyed the food we ordered and liked the overall ambiance of the restaurant. However, our waiter wasn’t great which is the only reason I am giving this place 4 stars. I think we would come back again!
Tasting menu was outstanding, wine pairings were perfect, service was thoughtful and engaging and the room was as lovey as ever. Best to the chef’s next adventure! Thank you!
Enjoyed a perfect birthday dinner in the heart of Lincoln Park. There isn’t a better restaurant to enjoy a night with your loved one
Our server was great , but 3 others hit my back. I scooted my chair in as far as possible, but it still kept happening. There was a post opposite my chair they were avoiding. Some of the door was delicious, but some we really didn’t care for. So for the cost of dinner, I would choose elsewhere
Annual holiday dinner with good friends. It was a wonderful evening.
NOT VEGETARIAN/VEGAN friendly. Even with several days notice, they could not accommodate even a pescatarian for the tasting menu. What they have on the main menu, is not appropriate for vegetarian/vegan‘s. There was only a couple of salads that were vegetarian, not a single beating item, and absolutely nothing on the main menu for vegetarians/vegans.While the food that we had was tasty, it’s a shame that they don’t take care of a wider range of eating preferences, especially when they have significant notice.
Furthermore, our drinks were messed up twice, before we got the appropriate drink for the entire table. The setting is gorgeous, if the menu was different I would make this a regular eating destination. As it is, I will not be back.
North Pond remains my favorite restaurant in all of Chicago. Perfectly civilized, elegant, yet without any pretentiousness or show. An extremely professional team takes care of you without fuss in a quiet home-like setting to offer artful and well-crafted dishes with an exquisite wine list. Dining at North Pond remains an experience to be treasured, and repeated, throughout the years.
Great food; awesome service
Still one of the best restaurants in chicago!
The food was delicious except for dessert, underwhelming. Our server was wonderful. The hostess both on the phone, when we arrived and during the meal was very rude. Snapping back at us a few times. We’ve enjoyed in the past, but no more for us. We also had issues with the valet. A damper on what was supposed to be a celebratory evening.
We have been celebrating birthdays and anniversaries at North Pond for many years. We also enjoy going when the menu changes with the seasons. This is our favorite restaurant in Chicago.
Great food & service. Hate that they make you wait at bar for your table when restaurant is empty. It’s their shtick to sell cocktails - literally always happens. Bartender is innovative in his creations so while the practice is annoying the cocktails are delightful but definitely add to your tab
Excellent seasonal tasting menu, you really get what you pay for!
They were soooo fantastic with my allergies. I can't thank them enough for the attention they gave before and during our reservation. Food was spot on!
Service was perfect. Timing was perfect.
The building is so special and the view of our wonderful city from the dining room is magical. I cannot wait to come in warm weather.
