A lovely evening but our busboy was pushy and brusque about removing our plates. Kept saying he wasn’t rushing us but very clearly he was. He was jarring considering the rest of the evening was so pleasant. The music was a little bit loud.
Every dish we had was extremely well prepared and the squid was absolutely incredible. The seasonal menu changes keep our palates satiated and encourage us to visit frequently. The staff are always friendly and and attentive. This is one of Chicago's special gems.
Exceptional in every way. Gourmet food in a uniquely styled classic venue. This was my guest’s first visit and we celebrated her birthday. The location at the brink of the pond inside the park adds a perfect touch to the varied flavors.
Excellent restaurant! Spectacular service and cuisine.
A fantastic place for a unique dining experience. Every time we've been there the food has been simply incredible. Worth every penny!
Celebrated a special Anniversary- the experience: food, drinks, dessert and service were perfection. Could not have been any better. Thank you!
Truly excellent food the service was excellent as well and if you get an table with a view it's beautiful
Everything was beautifully presented and generally good, but not super tasty. My fish tasted a dot fishy but the rest was good. Nice wait staff. Great atmosphere.
My husband and I went for brunch to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We were so incredibly surprised by the extra touches added to make us feel special. Not only that, the service was impeccable! Our server was phenomenal! Food was delicious! We will certainly be back to celebrate more special occasions in the future!
This is our absolute favorite place to go when we have something to celebrate. We've been here mostly for anniversaries and North Pond always adds special touches like mimosas and/or writing a celebratory note on a custom menu. I would highly recommend this restaurant to others for special occasions!
Very nice! We had fun!
I had been wanting to sample North Pond's cuisine for some time but there was either no availability when I visited Chicago (often last minute), or alternate plans were in place. The location and summer weather made for a wonderful perspective over the pond and the architecture of the venue was superb too. The menu was excellent with multiple enticing options and each course of food was both imaginative and exceptionally tasty. The cocktails were also delightful and several were sampled. The service was excellent too - polite servers and a fluent service not waiting too long between courses. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable meal in a great location. I will definitely be back with the seasonal change in menu.
Fantastic! Amazing service and incredible food!
Unbedingt vorzeitig reservieren!
There is only one word that best describes North Pond and our experience...EXCEPTIONAL!! The chefs culinary repertoire was uncanny. The marrying of seasonings with god choices can best be described as an elegant upscale formal event in your mouth. Our overall experience was unmatched by other establishments we visited on this mini-vacation. Highly recommend that those whom appreciate culinary arts make North Pond a must for your bucket list.
Everything was lovely from the food, the atmosphere and our server!
I eloped with my fiancé then we went to dinner at North Pond. It was absolutely amazing ! Natalie the manager was so wonderful to us ! And Kelly our lovely waitress was so delightful. We had the best memorable experience. And the food is outstanding ! I’ve been to many restaurants around the world - even Paris restaurants don’t come close to this incredible place!
The front room has many large windows with city and pond view. This is a special occasion restaurant. The air conditioner was not working well in July, so it was rather a hot side. Great service and beautiful presentation. Good small portions to try all. It is difficult to park near by.
Went for my girlfriend’s birthday and it was an excellent experience. Delicious food, excellent service, great wine pairings and special birthday menus and deserts all made for an amazing experience. I would highly recommend it!
The five course meal was to die for (menu designed each and every day), wine pairings were delightful at each course. Our waitress was not only knowledgeable about their offerings but delivered each course with a warm smile and small comment. I have nothing but great things to say about this place.
Really excellent restaurant with the best view of Lincoln Park and the near north skyline. Food and presentations worthy of their Michelin star.
Amazing food in a perfect location. A thoroughly delightful room with knowledgeable and attentive service.
Great service and wonderful views of the city. The building is nice and tucked away in the park. We really enjoyed it.
The ambience, service and drinks are amazing. I personally think they try too hard with the dishes and end up losing the very flavors they are trying to enhance.
Wonderful food, excellent service and incredible view. Amazing night
Be aware that all the dishes on the menu are based on the idea of mixing vegetables and fruits. It could be a little bit baffling at first, but it's worth the try even if some portions could be less smaller.
Great location and ambiance and the service was fair. The food however did not live up to expectations for a Michelin starred restaurant. The dessert (a peach dish) was particularly disappointing as it was far too savory and would have been better placed on a salad menu.
Went for my fiancé’s birthday. Waitress was extremely rude. When my fiancé found a worm type insect in his food, the waitress became rude and inattentive to our table the rest of the evening. She did not apologize and we eventually ended up leaving because she was not coming to our table after throwing the birthday dessert plate on the table.
Delicious food in a cozy, quiet ambiance
I was astounded by the poor level of service. We were there celebrating a special birthday. We were never told the restaurant could not accommodate any allergies and I have never had a restaurant at this level say they could not. We were not allowed to order the tasting menu because they would not accommodate a gluten allergy. While I understand the general rule that it must be for the full table, it was very they would not make accommodations so the table could enjoy. Then, at the end of the evening, we asked if we could order the dessert from the tasting menu and were told absolutely not because it could only be available for those who ordered the tasting menu. Which they refused to let us order.
My mother law was in town. We love visiting this restaurant with its always creative seasonal menu. The location in Lincoln Park cannot be beat. Great ambiance and service.
I think this may be the best brunch in Chicago! Great staff, food, and ambience. We have been here a number of times and will definitely return.
Had a great experience! loved the food and the service - especially the personalized birthday menu and complementary birthday dessert.
The meal was high priced and had no taste. Also, It took one and a half hours for our brunch to arrive. We had to leave and take our dessert to go, which melted on the way home.
Major disappointment. Food was expensive and did not taste good. Wolf fish was like eating a bucket of salt. Beef had a weird taste. Too many flavors mixed together. We requested table with a view and there were couple available and instead we received an explanation about complex algorithm and how they cant just sit people where they want. What ?? I'm paying several hundreds for dinner and drinks, tables are available and host is giving me a lecture on restaurant seating algorithm?? No wonder restaurant was half empty on a Saturday night.
Second time only to come for dinner (multiple time for brunch). Last dinner was end of summer 2013 (quite a while) and it was memorable.
This time, tasting menu, obviously the freshness is still way up there.
Unfortunately, and this is only my taste, the dishes were too experimental with every single dishes mixing sweet and savory, often with too much strength (the desert accompanied with arugula purée is quite out there).
The lamb dish was really good.
I understand the will to use most of the great products Spring, early summer, are offering but sometimes with quality products, I feel like simpler is better.
I will come back as menu change often but maybe I’ll go a la carte.
Always great food and service
We were there for Sunday brunch with friends from out of town who are true foodies. The food was outstanding! Bloody Mary’s were perfect - not too over the top. Love the location in the middle of the city but it feels like far away.
