Beautiful setting outside watching people and dogs go by- great way to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday with our one year old being able to enjoy the setting and food as well. Lovely overall & our server was phenomenal.
While we can't give North Pond credit for the lovely weather, the food, drink and service were spectacular. Nestled into a hill with a gorgeous view south to the skyline, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. We picked Sunday brunch for our first trip to North Pond. Our server was so nice, offering recommendations for champagne and cocktails throughout the meal. The meal itself was presented beautifully and the flavors were amazing. A pleasant morning that left us in a stupor. And given its well-deserved Michelin status, we found very good value for money.
I'm already looking ahead to my next visit. I'd love to experience the prix fixe dinner with wine pairing. And while the sunny, outside seating in May was exhilarating I can imagine a cozy, lodge-like atmosphere on a winter night.
fabulous, beautiful and delicious - attentive service, attention from the wonderful new chef! A special and perfect place for an Anniversary dinner!
Really great litle place in the middle of the park...congrats on another Michelin start for 2020 - well deserved! The people and service was awesome...I look forward to watching for the next seasonal menu. Food was presented beautifully and yummy too!
So, the food was really good, refined and complex. We did have a small undercooked fish, but the restaurant immediately react by giving us an other course and apologies, so nothing to say on this, except they did have the right answer to the problem.
The sommelier was knowledgeable enough and the wine selection for the pairing was really nice.
The reason why I'm not going for outstanding is because since it's a Michelin star restaurant, everything has to be near perfect, and when you pour water in my glass, you can t be spilling it all over, the undercooked fish was not a big deal, but again we're talking one Michelin star here not your everyday eatery. So overall, go for it since beside this two small incidents the reminder of the experience was really nice.
Everything was delicious and i can almost always find some fault. Service was spot on, all the courses came out together and bus service waited until all were finished. Nice selection of wines with some moderate prices in each category. The space is beautiful and the view is spectacular. Can't wait to go back.
North Pond was absolutely fantastic! We went for my boyfriend’s 30th birthday. Every dish and every drink we had we both kept saying “this is the best thing I’ve ever tasted.” The employees were so accommodating and kind! Along with the food we ordered, the chef brought out tastings of other dishes that were also incredible. At the end they had a birthday plate with complimentary desserts. It was so sweet! We will
absolutely be back!
North Pond continues to be my favorite restaurant in the city. Nothing beats the creative cuisine and outstanding service. If you are celebrating a special occasion, North Pond is the venue I recommend.
Great from the moment we walked in. Loved the personal touch of the menus with my wife's "mother's day without the kids" printed on them. Wine pairing with each course was on point. A beautiful setting in and around the restaurant. Will definitely do it again!
We went to the Mother’s Day brunch. The bread service and the entrées were very good. The rest was just OK. The appetizers were nothing I’d order again and the deserts weren’t very good and we only took a couple of bites. For the price, everything should be amazing.
North Pond is an ideal place for a special occasion. Our server was wonderful and the prix fixe menu delicious and unique. There did seem to be too much time between courses for our family. This may have been intentional to create a relaxing atmosphere and for those who had wine pairings to enjoy between courses.
For celebrations , anniversaries, etc North Pond is exceptional
North Pond called ahead of the reservation for information on the occasion and any dietary restrictions. When we showed up, every staff member knew our names and when we were seated, the menus were printed with our names and best wishes for the special day. In terms of food, everything was prepared well and came to the table perfectly timed. There was not a flaw in the service and each course was delicious just as described. The highlight of this restaurant is the ambiance being located in the park and it has not lost its luster but the meal and service truly outshone it on our most recent visit.
The food was delicious and hospitality was spot on! Easily the best restaurant in Chicago!
Fantastic tasting menu with multiple options. Great wine pairings and cocktails. Service was top notch. Thank you Chef Murillo for the personal touch, stopping by our table. Looking forward to our next visit!
As always, one of my favorite places in Chicago. Am delighted and relieved that they have been able to survive the travails of the pandemic.
First time there and it won't be our last! We went for a birthday celebration for my mom. The food was excellent but the service and all of the little extra things made the whole experience so memorable. Thank you to the entire staff at North Pond. You created such a special night for our family.
This is THE special occasion spot in Chicago. The vibe is amazing, so romantic and cozy. The service is impeccable and so is the food. It is a little pricy, but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend.
Outstanding in every way! This was our first visit and is now one of our favorite restaurants. We look forward to returning!!
Great place, food and service was outstanding. Definitely coming back soon!
If I could give North Pond a six star rating I would. Everything from the wine pairing to dessert was excellent. One of the best fine dining experiences my wife and I have had in a long while. This is not an inexpensive meal but its worth every dollar. I highly recommend trying North Pond.
This is a great place to celebrate a special occasion. For my husband's birthday, they created a custom menu with his name and wrote his name on his dessert. In addition to the most attentive service, the food was amazing.
This lunch was delicious, ample, and elegant. As usual. Since my friend and I are seniors we really appreciated being placed at a table which was quite distanced from other guests. The size of the servings is never too large - very European. One doesn't lose the ab slitty to taste from overeating.
North Pond is always awesome. We had a fantastic time celebrating my friend’s birthday
Beautiful setting with incredible food
Food choices too limited and it seems that ingredients are chosen to be creative instead of satisfying. I am a foodie and enjoy going to nice places but North Pond seems to be tryig too hard for their Michelin status and not enough on pleasing the patrons.
To the chef: Consider focusing on making good food better not on creating unusual concoctions.
Excellent service and dinner!
In a word; Amazing! Our server, Jeff, was a joy to have and due to an scheduling snafu on my part when making the reservation and getting my dates mixed up, Loretta called to verify the reservation and although it was the day prior, she found a table for us and was more than charming. Food was just fantastic and the wine pairings spot on.
Great converted space hidden in Lincoln Park with superb food and service. The staff was intuitive, knowledgeable, and engaging. The first bite set the standard of sensation to the tastebuds. Patio season can’t come soon enough to enjoy the outdoor space.
I was blown away by Chef Cesar Murillo. The tasting was everything I expect from North Pond. The flavors and textures were perfectly executed.
Food was great as usual. Desert was terrible. Both desert options need major improvement. The third was the cheese plate which we did try. Chocolate was like a dry browny
Really lovely brunch. Good food, good service, lovely setting
Simple yet effective proposal in a beautiful setting. We had the Sunday brunch which is probably one of the best value for money proposals in the City. Very good food.
Service got a little erratic at one point, nothing serious but it wouldnt be fair to give it 5 stars.
In general I only refrain from giving 5 stars because I think thats for outstanding ones but this is a place to visit and come back to without doubt.
I just didn’t think the food was that good- especially for that price. We had brunch. My main course (cod) was not at all good- very salty and the fish was mushy and soggy. I think the food options were perhaps too much like dinner options. I don’t want to eat fish at 11am. Service was excellent- perhaps dinner might be a better choice. Location is very special.
Our first post-vaccination fine dining experience. Service was first rate. Tasting menu toggled between excellent and very good. Wine list a bit punk (we did not do the wine pairings), but we managed. Very happy it was open, and very happy with the overall experience.
Really, one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Chicago. I’ve dined at North Pond before, but it was my husband‘s first time. He’s a foodie and incredibly hard to please. He was very impressed with the dishes and how consistently wonderful each was. The flavor profiles, presentation, thoughtful wine pairing. All felt so mindfully and exquisitely fine tuned. Dining here really is an experience, and in my opinion, well worth the cost.
Always a memorable experience when dining at North Pond. Came to celebrate our belated anniversary, as my wife had not had the pleasure of dining here. Welcoming from the minute we walked in. Great personal touches added by the restaurant to make our special occasion memorable. Debbie was a perfect server and the 4 course meal was outstanding!!!
This place is fabulous for a special occasion. The service is excellent but not fussy the food is creative and beautifully presented. There was not a note that this place didn’t hit. Fantastic!
Was definitely a cool experience and we got to try a lot of new foods. Our waiter was great and the food was very good!
Food was terrible. I am not that discerning and it's been more than a decade since I've had a dish that I just couldn't force down. That was the case here. Every dish was either forgettable or distasteful. And the flavors were quite strong (pungent as my wife described) so the lack of flavor balance was more pronounced and off-putting.
The wine pairing was expensive and less than average.
Wanted to love it. Huge disappointment. And quite expensive (~$370 for two w/ tip).
