1st time at North since change in ownership from FRC. Unfortunately, it was also the 1st time I have had an an experience that was memorable in a negative way. It was packed on a Monday night and perhaps the staff was overwhelmed? Our server disappeared throughout the night, food was slow coming from the kitchen of epic proportion as it took 42 minutes from time we ordered to be served. Once served, the dishes came out individually, so that once the 1st person in our 6 top was served, it took almost 10 minutes until the last person was served. 3 dishes were good (mussels, Alfredo, caesar) and 3 were not. The squid ink pasta was good, but so spicy that you couldn't taste the seafood. I love salt. However, the Short rib pasta was borderline inedible and bland on any other seasoning other than salt. The horseradish cream was non-existent. Then there was the roasted salmon. INEDIBLE. Again, the salt intake caused us to consume glasses of water of the 3 that tried it as the diner who ordered it wanted to see if she was overreacting to the amount of salt. The server did ask if we would like new dishes, however, since it took almost an hour to get our food we declined. We have worked in dining and I worked for FRC, so not looking for freebies, but never saw the manager to discuss. Love this place, and chalking it up to an off night, but hope they go a little lighter on the salt in future. From a diner who usually needs/wants more seasoning on food.
Great patio, with seating area and fire pits. Friendly, helpful staff and delicious food.
Food is good as usual service was off and was served food that was not what we requested and entree was not hot when served. Not our best experience
Haven’t been in a while, still good. Service was particularly good.
Always a good experience at North. Food was great, timely, and service was awesome.
Great service and amazing food.
The noice level is unbearable. Scraping of chairs on patio. I was at a table for 2 and I had to ask my companion to constantly repeat.
The patio is beautiful at North Italia and has heaters for chilly days. The service was very good and food tasty.
Great food great service- can’t make a good martini but the wine is good!
Incredibly helpful with my food allergies.
Ricardo was just an amazing server, he helped my girlfriend in choosing a wine that she would like. He also was able to answer all of our questions (it was our first time so we had plenty) about the menu. One of the best night outs in some time. :)
We were soooo disappointed with our server and our food service...not to mention the food! Waited 15 minutes fir gluten free bread (which was awful) to have with shrimp scampi. Gluten free pizza was a mess...took 20 minutes to get a new one! Regular pizza LACK toppings including cheese. We have reservations for 6 in a week...may cancel if we don't hear from Manager! Ruined our birthday dinner and never even got a dessert!
Arrived in the early evening and with reservations. We were quickly seated but asked if we could move. We could not sit at our chosen table as it was reserved. That table remained unused through the evening.
The wait staff tried to upsell us on wine offering only bottles. When we said we'd only drink a glass he said we could cork and take the remainder home. Had I not looked online I wouldn't have known there were offerings by the glass.
Friendly, attentive service last night which is SO rare anymore! This place seemed to be fully staffed, too! We were warmly greeting and then treated kindly when we asked to move indoors from the chilly patio. Expansive menu, we liked what we chose and I'm eating my leftovers now for lunch. Zucchini chips were a yummy start. We'll be back!
Most locals probably can't count how many times they've eaten here over the past 15 years or so. Menus change, food goes in & out of fashion regularly.
So when it was decided to check out North again it was with a bit of trepidation.
We were warmly received by our server, food was great, never had to ask for refills on beverages. Server was great & personable. We started out with the app of meatballs reminiscent of the ones Towne Hall in SF developed years ago. Pasta ordered was home-made, decadent & delicious & the burger I ordered for a change was perfectly cooked. You could easily tell it was hand formed from the texture served with parmesian cheese were the typical accompaniment but surprisingly really good.
If you haven't been here for awhile I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Amazing food great environment
We love the brunch menu and try to make a reservation several times a week. Prefer eating at the bar or on the north patio. Food is consistent, menu varied for both of us. My husband is a breakfast eater and love the Arugala and Avocado Salad with a piece of Salmon. The wine list is great and I love their Palomas.
Service was excellent. Daniel was our server and he is obviously very good. Refreshing since with the shortage of good staff , i was glad this restaurant works on training staff well
I have never had anything but a delicious dinner.
North Italia is the best Italian restaurant in Tucson and one of our favorite restaurants to go to with friends! Food, service, and ambience are all outstanding!
Everything was great
Great service and food. Never a disappointment.
We ordered Milan Mules and they started the evening off great. We had three pasta and two salmon dinners. The Salmon I had I ordered it spicy and it was great. They always have great service from servers to bus boys. Great experience for my adult daughters birthday.
Disappointed that many of the staff were not wearing masks. Short rib was dried out and over salted.
Service was prompt and friendly, and our food was as good as expected.
The food and service were excellent. Your registration site was poor and would not let me register for a tabled . To solve this issue I had to go to the North web site and use their link to make my reservation from there.
Always a good experience. Awesome food and always great service.
Great food, great ambiance, great service, great everything!
Great dining! From service to wine selection to flavorful dishes;
The best Italian we’ve had in a long time. We’ll definitely be back.
Wife's birthday; very good and efficient experience - we were literally in and out in just over an hour. Yucca chips, split an excellent salad, short ribs for my wife, roasted salmon for me - both excellent. Nice bottle of Italian Crete Senisi wine recommended by server was the topper. Overall great experience.
The food is always fantastic at North Italia! We tried the roasted salmon which was amazing. The cauliflower underneath was cooked with pesto and it was such a great combination. We also had the Cacio e Pepe pizza which was so so good. The sauce was creamy and peppery which was amazing and the cheese was cooked perfectly along with the crust. Such a great place to eat, and the outdoor seating is perfect for a nice warm evening.
The fire pit was inviting. We decided to eat outside as the restaurant was quite crowded inside and many of the seats are hard wood. We sat in comfy outdoor patio chairs and just plain relaxed for my birthday. The food was excellent. I chose this place for something different and there are many gluten-free options for my husband. My daughter in retrospect wanted some leftover pizza and wished she had ordered the regular size vs a kids pizza.
She was a nice one by zero means a grinch
The wine was priced a glass for a bottle
The heaters outside or the speakers from outside gave a high pitch
I got up for a second to take care of some business
They were already clearing my table
I hadn’t even payed
Maybe I didn’t have to
She was nice though I’ll remember the letters in foreign
Will keep coming back due to overall experience.
The strozzapreti I always order was a little bitter and didn’t know why. Aside from that, other entrees were excellent!
Brunch with my sister and it was lovely!
Isaac was a fantastic server. The only reason I didn’t rate it a five is that despite a county mask mandate multiple employees were not wearing masks. Not to mention mask less patrons.
Great venue. All the team at north italia was wonderfull
Not up their usual standards. Probably because of New Year's "special" menu. Main course came with? the appetizer? Main course was cold as was the appetizer. Had to send both back to heat them up? Vegetables on main dish with fish were cold like they just came out of the fridge. We eat here often and quite frankly this was far below their usual high standards. A disappointment.
