Food was excellent, would definitely recommend to others. Our only complaint was that our waiter left very quickly after checking on us after getting our meal. My husband wanted another drink, but the waiter left so quickly, he couldn't. He didn't check on us again until we were ready for a check. Overall good, but that particular waiter could have been more attentive. We went at 530 pm on a Tuesday, so it was too busy of a time.
Consistently fine food and service, this vibrant location is hard to beat.
Great food! We eat here every time we are in town....sometimes more than once! We love the little doughnuts and the fig Pizza. Our server Angelia was great!
I've been to the North in both Austin and in Tucson, and they are uniformly excellent. Our service was a bit slow, but there was enough other positives to make up for it.
service very good, waitress outstanding (Cathern) outdoor table for 2 a little small.
Great atmosphere and service. Food was very good.
Great food, great service
Good food, always consistent. Decent service. Terrific wine list!!
We sat in the patio area at my request, and it was a mistake, because we were seated across from a large table of loud, intoxicated (mostly) women, who had already finished their meal when we arrived. They stayed throughout our entire dinner.
Nice service but had negative experience with the squid noodle, shrimp dish. It come out with green noodles and about 6 medium sized shrimp . It was truly tasteless .
I enjoy unique and well prepared meals uncommon ingredients.
I was impressed with the manager coming out to make it right so that is why I gave service a 5 Star.
Outstanding food, but slow and neglectful service.
Service was extremely slow. It took 5-10 minutes just to get water. We had to remind the server multiple times for our drink orders. Our food, appetizers, mains and dessert, was delivered to the table next to ours.
We come from Canada every year and make sure we visit North. The food is amazing. I dream about the Tuscan kale with salmon. Can hardly wait to come back!!!
We had a great time for a girls night out. I thought it might be too loud but it wasn't. The service and food was exactly as was expected. Thank you for a great night!
Marissa set us up with a table right in front on the TV so we could watch the college basketball. Great food!
Food is always good and on point. Elio was a great server and very friendly. The hostess staff is very hit or miss. The last two times I’ve been there I’ve had reservations and others who didn’t have reservations were sat before me. Mind you I only had a party of two. I hate to say this, but I get a funny ‘class’ or ‘racial’ undertone to this situation.
Ordered the Bolognese which I have loved in the past but this time it had very little meat. So sad. The waiter was kind enough to take it off the ticket. My husband had the short ribs with pasta but it also was reimagined and not with the brown sauce he remembered. Patio seating was lively, location is great.
North is an excellent option for dining in Tucson with great fresh pasta from scratch and a great happy hour drink menu. The service was efficient and not overbearing and there was a plentiful patio not common to other North locations. The food is always excelletn and the pasta dishes are huge! A great find in North Tucson.
Great breakfast menu
Lovely spot for getting together for friends, EXCEPT noise level is high. We asked to be moved to a more quiet spot and were kindly accommodated. Food choices superb. Service good.
Arrived 10 minutes prior to our reservation time but were not seated for about 25 minutes. I was told they “were waiting for a table to open “. I noticed several vacant tables for two while we waited. Food and service were both excellent once we were seated.
Wonderful food and service!
Our waiter (Vin) was great. We went for my mother's 91st birthday and he was very
sweet and treated her very special.
Excellent menu—a regular favorite of ours—& stellar service.
Seating was a problem, had reservations but was sat outside with heater. Seat were very uncomfortable and the hostess couldn't care less that we were displeased with our seats. The waiter however, had us moved inside. The seat they gave me was a bit ricketty, it amazed me the variety of seats/chairs present in the restaurant. Being a upper class restaurant you would think they would pay to upgrade the overall seats available.
You use energetic instead of loud. I have trouble hearing any conversation at dinner. LOUD!
The best place in Tucson to experience a fantastic meal from start to finish. The entire restaurant works as one to give you a top notch experience. Go out of your comfort zone and order what ever is interesting on the menu. The desserts are amazing as are the drinks and the chef board is worth going to North alone. This is a best meal style restaurant and I cannot wait to go back.
Great food and a wide variety to choose from. The staff was quite helpful with some special seating requirements we had, but at times it was hard to flag down a waiter. The short ribs with polenta was really to die for, so amazing. The pizzas are large given they are typically for one person. They could be shared. The Caesar salad was one of the best around, chilled, properly dressed, and with tasty croutons. The spaghetti and meatballs was ok, not great. The decor is modern but basically you are in a big warehouse. We will definitely visit this Fox restaurant again.
My husband and I like all the Sam Fox restaurants, and North Italia is no exception. I had roasted rosemary chicken which was delicious, and my husband had a margarita pizza which was also very good. Our server was either new or had too many tables he was tending to, because we rarely saw him and had to ask for water and bread and a few other things. The noise level is "energetic" (fairly loud) so you have to speak very loudly to your dinner mates, and that's my biggest complaint. Otherwise, dinner was delicious.
Service was awful. Where do I begin...Had to ask for straws twice. The second time he proceeded to tell me they don’t just give them out anymore because of the environment. Then he went and got them. I saw straws on everyone else tables. And i shouldn’t have had to ask twice and then get some excuse. We also Had to ask for bread twice too. Our appetizer came out before the bread. After the appetizer was delivered, we then had to ask for silverware. And when the bread finally came, I asked for 2nd serving since the first serving was clearly not enough for the table. The second order came without the butter. Our entrees were fair, however My pasta was very undercooked. Then while I just took a bite from my bread and placed it on my bread plate, the waiter picked up the plate and said I will take that for you, and I told him I was wasn’t done. Then later he came over to refill our drinks and sat an empty beer can and some other trash on our table and as he picked up the beer can I got sprayed with it. On top of all that when we got the bill, there was an item on it that we never ordered. One of my worst experiences ever at a restaurant. Won’t be coming back here.
This was our first time at this restaurant and it did not disappoint at all. The wine list is extensive. The menu is not exceptionally long but has a fair amount of options to choose from. Our waiter was very patient in explaining several of the dishes. Reservations on a weekend night here are a must. We plan on returning in the near future.
The staff, the food and the ambiance make for a lovely experience!! A go-to for sure!!
Good never disappoints. The service has become slower as the restaurant becomes more popular. And waiting times have increase as well - even with reservation. It’s all worth for the food that’s for sure.
Excellent. Must make reservations. Don’t want to stand outside.
Our group of six diners had a good experience overall. We were first seated next to the kitchen close to a shift change and it was quite noisy at the original table. We asked to be reseated and were immediately accommodated. The round table that we moved to allowed us to have good conversations. The wait staff was friendly and available. However when the meal was served one entree was missing. That diner waited an extra 15 minutes before getting her meal, and by that time many of the other five diners were almost finished. This mistake was compensated by the supervisor bringing out the meal personally and not charging us for that meal. The waitress also apologized for the mistake. So the restaurant did exactly what should have happened given the unfortunate missing order. The food was all very flavorful and was reasonably priced. We will be coming back again to experience the food and the ambiance again.
We had such a lovely evening. The service was great & food excellent.
Will definitely go back again when we are in the area.
Recommendations from our waiting staff were spot on.
At the end of the evening the manager took time out to talk to us - even thou they were obviously very busy.
Great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Wonderful service and pasta. We enjoyed Sunday’s happy hour offer of half price on a bottle of wine. They also offer a charcuterie board that we’ll try next time. Fun place!
Nice family friendly restaurant. Diverse menu selections. Service was ok, nothing remarkable. Food was delicious albeit small portions. Would definitely return but it won’t become my “go to”.
Had reservations and staff was very flexible while we had wine at bar first. Good energy and friendly staff. Great value on a Sunday night.
