North Italia – Tucson

Great meal and drinks. Perfect weather to sit in the patio. Our server was super nice and her drink recommendations hit the spot.
The polenta and vegetables that came with the short ribs were excellent although the neat was a little dry. Pizza and spaghetti and meatballs were good. Waitress was very good.
We have always enjoyed North Italia, but not our last visit. Their signature Bolognese was poor. It was undercooked and serve barely warm. NOT GOOD! ☹️
Outstanding food with impeccable service!
Great food, great place!
We arrived 30 minutes early and decided to sit at the bar for happy hour till our table opened up. We sat at a table in the bar and before we could order, it was being set up for dinner and were told to move. We sat at the bar and as I was ordering, a hostess told us she could seat us at our table. The hostess at the door checking off our reservation could have told us she would seat us at a table instead moving twice. The food was great! The wine on the regular menu for cabernet sauvignon was limited. The happy hour wine list for red wine as well as the special wine list were very expensive even for a special they were having.
So we first ate here a few weeks ago for my birthday and loved it. It was a Saturday so it was pretty crowded but we had a reservation so we didn’t wait long. We ordered the pizza Bianca which was phenomenal. We decided to go back a few nights ago and order the pizza again and it was nothing like the pizza we’d had a couple weeks ago. It was so disappointing. We also ordered the chicken parmesan and it was mediocre. For $20, we expected much better. Based on our first experience, I would still recommend it but I was so sad that our second experience was such a letdown.
We took my sister in law for her 78th birthday and it was perfect. Our server did a great job and we all enjoyed our entrees and desert.
Caesar and seasonal vegetable salads were great. Requested prosciutto on a pizza margherita which was accommodated graciously. It was excellent. Our server-Grace-remembered us from 6 months ago. She was very kind, helpful and efficient. Superb experience at North.
Thanks for the excellent service!
This is our place ever since we were married. We order the same thing and the food was horrible. Zucca Chile were undercooked and oily. Cauliflower appetizer was overcooked and not fresh - old and leftover. I don’t know what has happened but this was one of the worst from 5-star to 1-star in just one visit
Excellent keep the all day Sunday happy hour going!
The burrata and desserts were excellent. Will definitely return
We have loved North in the past but were disappointed on Saturday night. I personally loved my squid ink pasta but my three dinner companions were unhappy with their meals. The short rib radiatore had a shockingly small amount of short rib and they were not wowed by taste. The bolgnese also did not impress.
Unfortunately, the noise level was high which limited conversation.
Nonetheless, the food was delivered quickly and was perfectly prepared.
Our wait person was gracious, kindly repeating herself when hearing was difficult.
My husband and I came to celebrate our anniversary almost every year and without fail it is delicious, relaxing, and fun! The perfect spot for celebrating events or just appetizers!
We got there and waited forever for a waitress I finally went and asked someone. He helped ordered ice tea first no ice in it. Brought appetizers but no plates . My friend had to take hers to go cause it took so long . The waitress even made a comment I’m stuck with you ! I’ve had good luck there before must have a high turnover. I won’t be back sad too
The service here is always excellent AND I love the food.
The short ribs were outstanding as was the service.
pleasant, service was slow and food was ok.
Food and service very good. However, flies distracting. And, although not particularly busy, noise level made conversation difficult.
great place to meet friends for drinks in the bar area or patio. Lively and fun atmosphere. Food is so so. Portions are very small. would be considered "small plates" in other restaurants.
Atmosphere was awesome and the food was even better! Becoming one of my favorites here in Tucson.
We made our reservation for 2 for my wife's Birthday. With plenty of options we choose North. Everything started off good till our main meal came out and our appetizers cam out midway thru the meal. So timing was horrible!. Then waiter gave us our check with no acknowledgment towards why we were there and if we were celebrating anything .
All my wife wanted for her 50th birthday was to have a amazing experience at a upscale restaurant like North. Didn't happen
I am not the kind of man to not leave a tip, but I can tell you it was extremely hard for me to leave $4. Because it wasn't deserved.
Good food and service, but the cocktails were atrocious. We ordered Maker’s Mark manhattans on the rocks, no bitters. One of the easiest of the classic cocktails to make. We were served Maker’s Mark on the rocks ... period. We sent them back and asked for them to include the correct amount of sweet vermouth and garnish with cherries. We were served straight sweet vermouth, ice and a cherry. Really? Really! C’mon!! You guys have got to do better than that.
Great food... we sit outside. Very pleasant day…
North is always a great spot to get together with friends! The food is consistently great! And so is the atmosphere.
Great food and service!
It was cool
I had a reservation and when we arrived we were seated immediately. Was then greeted by the waiter and ordered drinks. We ordered appetizers and mea ls. After an excessive amount of time passed I had to remind the waiter about the appetizers. He checked on them and brought them out with our meal, forgetting one of them. There was no point in having him bring it out, I expressed my disappointment and canceled it. The waiter apologized but I felt as if it was no big deal to him as there was no attempt to make up for the mistake. Was there to celebrate our anniversary, as we do yearly. It is one of my wife’s favorite restaurants, however; we may need to reconsider our plans next year.
We waited 1/2 hr for our table reservation. People near us got in sooner. Girls were more interested in talking to each other than trying to get new tables set up.
Not the cheapest place, but absolutely worth every penny. You could close your eyes, pick something at random and you would have an incredible meal every time. I could not recommend this place more!!
Service was phenomenal. A little loud but the food was delicious!
First time going here. Seated within 5 minutes of arrival. Food and service was great.
My husband and I are really tired of being treated poorly by servers due to our age. The assumption is that we won’t tip well, when we always tip 20% because we don’t believe in eating out if you can’t afford to tip properly. However, when we receive poor service we don’t want to tip well, but then we would just be proving the servers’ point. People that were seated after us were given appetizers before we even were given the opportunity to order any food or even receive our drinks. Our appetizer took a very long time and there wasn’t any check-ins or apologies from the server. When we left the server didn’t say anything to us along the lines of “thanks for coming in” or “have a nice night”, but just left the check on the table. Not sure if we will be returning after being treated so poorly.
While I always enjoy the food at North, another experience that was appreciated in the past was the level of service by wait staff— always personable and willing to stop for an extra minute to chat. This however hasn’t been true the past two visits. Additionally the noise level inside the restaurant is not pleasant and would keep me from dining there.
Great service and food. Outside dining area is very nice for cool Arizona evenings.
North outdid itself with its Sonoran Restaurant Week menu. The choices were varied, the food excellent and the service, as always, outstanding.
I went there for my birthday and tried the Sonoran Restaurant Week menu. My friend and I ordered the Arancini and Prosciutto Bruschetta for first course, Roasted Salmon and Chicken Parmesan for second course, and Tiramisu and Salted Caramel Budino as the desserts.
Everything was delicious especially the Arancini and Tiramisu! Definitely worth a visit!
Loved the food and waiter was fantastic with his recommendations
