The service was wonderful as always but the food quality seems to be slipping. I am a fan and like to entertain because of the outdoor seating but the bugs were too much, not your fault.
It was busy last time we came, but food is always great. Didn't love the calamari, but everything else was awesome. Love the environment & they have a great happy hour.
When a customer selects a bottle of wine, don’t try to talk him into selecting a different bottle … especially when restaurant marks his selection with high marks… the Pinot Noir XIV. Make sure customer’s water glasses are filled. And of all things submit order in a timely manner.
Food/ambiance was very good except for I had to get up to ask the host for the table to be bussed and had to ask again for them to clear away dishes when they brought dessert spoons before dessert arrived, most annoyingly, I had to hand the runner or busser my dishes. He should have walked over and done it himself. That was underwhelming. The busser was busy setting tables for the next day but there was no one being seated today. I was there yesterday as well and didn’t have to bus my own table. Hmm
2 birthdays and there were 6 of us. Great service and food
Slow service. I was finished my entree before my companion got his. Calamari was greasy and soggy. Very disappointing. Eating out is a different experience now.
Everything was wonderful. We were seated right away and the service was professional. The food was outstanding starting with the fantastic oil and bread followed by a delicious arugula salad and the grilled salmon that melted in my mouth. Highly recommended.
Great food and great atmosphere! The host and server were so genuine and pleasant!
Yummy food and desserts. Nice assortment of wines. I would have liked a more comfortable chair though.
WOW we hadn't been to North Italia in quite some time, given the pandemic and all. Our friend was celebrating her birthday and chose North to celebrate. We sat on the patio, arriving about 545 Friday evening. The place was bustling. That however did not negatively impact any part of our evening. Our waitress, Madison, was one sharp cookie. She steered us to a fabulous wine and then made suggestions on entree options that it would compliment. She was very well versed in the wine selection, origin, etc. Training - Well done! She didn't rush us and we lingered over the best calamari we've ever had (no exaggeration) and burrata, squash and apple dish. The burrata was a bit salty but none the less, delicious. Our entrees included the short rib dinner, short rib pasta dinner and amazing Branzino. The food, service and outdoor dining was a superb experience. We will return very soon - we all want to order the Branzino!
Great food and service. We had a wonderful night. I would recommend it thoroughly.
The food and our waiter were terrific. We ordered three dishes and used them for a family-style meal. The Farm Market appetizer was particularly tasty!
Whenever I am in Tucson I visit North Italia. I have tried about everything on the menu and it's all great.
Wildcats Family weekend !
Good food, great waiter, enjoy this place!
First time at this restaurant and it was a really good experience for us.
We really enjoyed the pasta dishes we selected and felt we got good value
Our server was exceptional and added to the positivity
Enjoyed our brunch - service and food preparation both exceeded our lofty expectations.
Wonderful birthday celebration, like always North came through with their service and delicious food.
Had the Italian Farm salad. Absolutely the best. Sean was attentive to our needs.
Ernesto was the worst waiter I’ve ever had at North. Very disappointing.
It’s too bad. North Italia used to be a favorite of mine but this experience was not good at all and I won’t go back again. The food was mediocre at best and way overpriced. The service was extremely slow. And there was a large white rat running back & forth past our table from an outside cart to the bushes. We told our server about it and he laughed and said he thought he saw that rat last week. I took my daughter here for a nice dinner as she was visiting me from out of town. It was a very unpleasant experience and I will not recommend North Italia to anyone.
Food is always good the service is almost always choppy. Still good experience overall
Great brunch with friends. Food and service were excellent as usual.
Service and food was fabulous. I feel
As of I’m out of town when eating at North. Love the atmosphere
Took half an hour for a server to come to our table . Food was skimpy and I asked for salmon to be well cooked and it was raw inside. I had an hour to get back to work in la encantada and barely made it. I would not recommend it.
Excellent service, calamari was great overall Great experience!
Lovely attentive servers and delicious food as always!
Upon our arrival, the host was very friendly, our server was prompt and made great suggestions.
Always the best
The food was mediocre at best. The service was terrible. Arizona doesn’t have a mask mandate but the people cooking were wearing masks, the manager that came to speak to us wasn’t wearing a mask, and when the waitress brought olive oil on a plate she dipped her entire finger (with long gross nails) into it and then gave it to us. I was so disgusted I couldn’t eat my food
best experience at dinner and lunch both. I've been there multiple times and they never let me down. the service is great the food is great it's always clean I highly recommend it
Server was good but kitchen was slow. Food was very good except chef’s interpretation of calamari was bland. Hazelnut torts was as good as it gets!
Food was excellent as usual. Our entrees did not come out together, so half the table watched as our food cooled waiting for the rest to arrive.
I had the wagu shirt steak, very dry and the side was very runny had to ask for a spoon over priced. They need to take that off there menu to keep there high-quality
Great food…. Hip crowd. Really loud.
Service was a bit slow.
Always a go to for special occasions.
Really astounding that this restaurant is a chain - the food is FRESH and FABULOUS, not to mention a robust Italian wine selection. Service is always great.
We loved everything but the bolognese. It didn’t have the richness we expected from cooking eight hours. The tagliatelle also was a bit chewy. Overall, we will give them another try.
We’ve enjoyed North before, but this had to be the best! It all starts with the server. Wow—Maddi was amazing. She counseled my husband through his beer choice and, even after he chose, came back with more input from the bartender and others. Beyond that, though, I saw how she managed the table next to us. She was so amazing with these indecisive and somewhat demanding (I don’t mean this in a negative way) customers, that I felt I had to tell her how impressed I was. She brought multiple tastes of wine to them to help with their choice, recited what they could have read in the menu (after getting a positive response to ‘do you have glute-free pasta, they asked what sauces were available, for example). All that, and she was still super-engaged with us and her other customers.
And the food…. We had the veggie board, shrimp scampi and calamari salad. All delicious and all a bit different from everyone else’s similar items.
We plan to come back more often…and will always ask for Maddi!
I come here often. This is the first time the hosts had trouble finding my Open Table reservation, but we were seated outdoors on the patio anyway. Maybe this was a by-product of the outdoor seating, but the burgers apparently were not hot, according to my companions. My bruschetta was, and very tasty too. I want to shout out our waiter, Shawn, who was attentive and helpful, and informed me that salads were available in half portions. Portions tend to be generous here, so this is info to store for the future. The service here has been consistently fine, even on busy days, and I wish to underline this. This is one of the nicer patio experiences to be had for cautious people. I'll be back.
