North Italia – Kansas City Ratings and Reviews
Man at the reception was not very personable when I arrived. He did not smile and did not say anything after he led me to my table. Usually, greeters say something like, enjoy your dinner. He seemed very abrupt.
There were three of us for dinner. My husband had the Bolognese. He said it was wonderful. I had the parmesan chicken. It was quite good. Our daughter had the margarita pizza. She said that it lacked enough cheese.
Our server, Monica, was excellent. She was very busy, but not too busy to give great service.
I typically enjoy eating at North but this Day was not a good experience. We were seated close to the front door so cold air would blow in every time guests entered. It was lunch to celebrate my mother’s birthday but she had trouble hearing me over the noise. My salad was not what I expressed so I didn’t really enjoy it. Finally, I was mischarged for a salmon entree we didn’t order and it took a long time to get a corrected check. Very frustrating over all!!
As usual, North was a great choice for a birthday. It was really busy when we got there, but they kindly reseated us at a table further from the door so that it was not so cold every time the door opened. The food and wine were very good, and we enjoyed some new dishes for restaurant week.
The food we both had was deli Sous. Recommended by the waiter. Service was quick and professional without hovering. The atmosphere is stark and business like, not charming and sound echos from the wall of windows. Still overall a great place for lunch or dinner.
the food was excellent and very delicious. Our waitress was a little lacking, but worth giving it a second try with a different waiter. The seating for the hightops placed us very close to other table, so if you're going for a date I'd just request not to have them.
Great food and service! The food was cooked to order, and the service was excellent. Our waiter, Nick , was quite knowledgeable about the different items on the menu and was willing to answer all of our questions. He should be commended for his fine work. My wife and I shall never forget our wonderful experience at North Italia Restaurant.
I love North as it has gluten free options. As a pasta lover, North has the best alternative I've found yet in Kansas City. Atmosphere is charming and service is always outstanding. The gluten free pasta and pizza crust are delicious and the texture the same as non-gluten free.
Food & service was fabulous as always. Requested a booth and was seated in a booth but it was freezing cold everytime the front door opens!! Recommend a revolving door with heaters or put an industrial space heater in the entry. We are regular diners but prefer sitting at the back of the restaurant in the wintertime.
Food was good for the limited menu for the holiday. Service tho, seemed short staffed and slow which was disappointing considering it wasn’t overly busy. I’ve been to the restaurant before not on a holiday and will come back I won’t let this one night steer me away
North was excellent, as always! The issue we had was that we made a reservation through Open Table a week in advance, arrived at the restaurant and they didn't have our reservation...so our party of 6 had to wait almost an hour to get a table. Obviously a glitch in the system, but frustrating when we planned ahead, paid for babysitters, and then had to wait a long time for the table.
Our request for a booth was ignored. Our party of 4 was seated at a table and the chairs were comfortable. Other special requests such as gluten-free pasta were honored for one of our diners. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Food was served hot and with appealing presentation. The consensus was that the food was delicious. Only 3-stars for value because final tab was well over $200 and no dessert. High tab due to each diner having one cocktail or glass of wine. Overall, we enjoyed the restaurant.
