North Italia - El Segundo
Book your next event with us
As usual, seating was as scheduled, service was excellent and food was wonderful. A bit noisy, but not too bad.
Sadly we had a terrible experience on a father’s Day. The server did not wish my husband or father a happy Father’s Day (it was obvious as there were kids with us at the table). Actually no one did from their staff. They were “out” of the top 3 choices of appetizers we wanted. The food arrived and did not taste like it usually does. My son burned his finger on the hot spaghetti bowl he received without warning that it was scorching hot. The server left the check with no words and picked it up in the same mute fashion. Not one single service member asked how our meal was. I will not be returning personally or professionally (we have had many corporate events here). Oh and NO beers on tap!!!!!
We truly enjoyed our dining experience at North Italia in El Segundo. Gabriel and Morgan made our evening very special. The wait staff is excellent. The customer service is truly commendable. The Bolognese is my favorite pasta there and the short rib is excellent. Can’t wait to go back!
Outstanding service and food is always incredible! Will be back within a few weeks!
Food here is pretty solid and our server was much more attentive than the last time we came here, but gotta say the noise level is too much. Hard to have a conversation without screaming at your table mates. The fact that 3 of our diners were senior citizens made it that much more difficult. Still, staff was friendly and efficient. I do think it would be nice if they had a separate area for the door dash/post mates people. While we were waiting to be seated, one of those drivers felt the need to just push in front of us because he was in a hurry to pick up his order. Not cool.
I eat here so many times but this time it wasn’t good. The kids chicken used to come with smashed potatoes now it comes with mediocre French fries. They removed the amazing mascarpone tart from there menu and added a very nasty pistachio olive oil cake. I’m not happy with how it went and I love this restaurant a lot.
Outstanding good! My favorite restaurant in all the South Bay. The staff are all sharp and pleasant and the manager Gabriel makes this restaurant a delight!!!
It was very busy and difficult to accommodate my larger party. The food was pretty good but wasn’t impressed with the zucchini chips and the bread was dry. They ran out of 3 of the desserts on the menu. That was disappointing. The server was not slow and inattentive, which makes for a slow and miserable dinner.
Collection of wine and pasta were amazing.
Good food and service; very busy so our reservation delayed half hour. Thoughtful apology and free dessert; nice touch.
It is way too loud in this restaurant. We couldn't hear each other or the waiters, and the waiters couldn't hear us. Horrible acoustics! Aside from that, the food was excellent and the service was great. It did take too long for desserts which I think was a kitchen, not waiter, issue. The wine is a bit pricey, but that's MB for you. They were very gracious about letting us taste various wines before choosing which to pick. And Yes, I would recommend this restaurant to friends, but not to those who have a hard time hearing. They would be miserable.
North Italia is consistently good. We had a problem with a pizza. They tried fixing it, and it wasn’t right. So they graciously tried again, and it was great. We weren’t expecting anything to be comp’ed, and they gave us a free dessert and comp’ed the pizza. Their cocktails are fantastic too. It is VERY loud inside, but for me that adds to the fun. My 4 yr old son loves the spaghetti and meatballs. They always bring his food our first. I always see young kids there. Some might not appreciate the noise, so try sitting outside.
Excellent Service. Amazing Food.
This chain consistently delivers high quality Italian food. The Divers Scallops are amazing. The short ribs to die for. Literally it’s a party in your mouth experience. Don’t miss it! We always make it a point to dine her a few times a month. Loving the North Italia.
Disappointed on time it took for food to arrive especially having two little ones with us. We asked our server if entrees were almost ready and it came out quickly afterwards but wasn't hot so assuming it had been sitting for awhile. Additionally, the appetizer plates smelled like eggs and wine glass looked cloudy....had to clean with my napkin. Expected more!!!
It was a nice lunch but a bit pricey. Small portions for top $. Arugula salad was the weakest I've seen, but we added on the salmon piece for an additional $11 (about) and it made the salad. Grilled Cauliflower dish was delicious but again for the price, I felt it was skimpy. Pizza of the day was very good as was the artichoke. I just thought it was a bit pricey for lunch.
It was my mom’s birthday and the hospitality was unmatched. All of the servers made sure my mom felt special. Such a great place for a good dinner and good Italian wine!
This is a bustling location for North Italia, tucked in a shopping center in El Segundo. We very much enjoyed our food, although our entrees came out 5 minutes after we ordered them, and the appetizer Truffle Bread hadn't arrived yet. But management handled that quickly and gracefully, bringing the bread to us about 5 minutes later and comping it since it should've come out first. Would definitely return for delicious food and a fun, busy ambiance.
I think that for the quantity of food they serve it’s a little in the expensive side. Food is good not great. Service is really good. It can get a little too loud.
I love eating at North Italia. Their Truffle Bread was prepared with a tasty homemade ricotta cheese that was drizzled with Truffle Oil. YUM!
We love just about everything about our North Italia, at The Point, in El Segundo, but the staff is the absolute best! From the reservation desk to the wait staff, everyone is so welcoming and friendly.
We have been going there since it opened, and will continue to do so in the future. Celebrating our son’s birthday. Reserved advanced booking for 6:30pm, sat down at 7:30pm - think you might have over booked.
Ordered our usual artichoke which was terrible- waiter took it off the check. It happens, and it was handled well.
Except for the two negatives mentioned, would have given our usual 5 stars.
Waited nearly an hour for food. No one ever came by with an order update or apology for delay. Mussels were great but Chicken Parmesan was very salty and had long black hair in it. Told server and the response was “ I’m sorry...I’ll let the chef know. “
Good food,good customer srvc.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good food, nice vibe, good service. Worth a visit for sure.
The food is just OK the pizza was nothing special there was not enough cheese on it the dough didn’t he’s particularly great the meatball sandwich on ciabatta bread was not great a sub roll would be better that sauce seemed more like mayonnaise then melted cheese sauce even the Mayo was provided on the side the fries were nothing special the best was the pesto with chicken but overall nothing great
made a reservation (Memorial Day, I assumed to be busy and it was). Had a little trouble deciding, because we've had a lot there! Had a chef's board, and two pastas, all of which were very good. Good place for brunch, lunch, cocktails, whatever.
Great as always
Upon arriving five minutes before opening, I was told (even though the doors were open and it was raining outside) that the restaurant was not open yet. While I was very much aware of that and simply needing to get out of the rain before my 11 AM reservation, which was five minutes away, I found it incredibly rude that the host (Nicole was here name on Sunday, May 26), was not welcoming whatsoever and still wanted me to stand outside. As a host or guest services professional, this is simply unacceptable. With it being my first visit, I was dissatisfied from the moment I walked in. I truly hope management will step in and train their staff better, as basic customer service needs like this are not being met.
Atmosphere is fun! Food and drinks are good. 1 downfall lately .. appetizer and meal portions have been extremely stingy this year. We drove four hours, AGAIN, to celebrate another family birthday. Second time we’ve sent an adult meal back, because it comes out a child size serving. Upside - we always get a bubbly server :)
My nephew was in town from Law School and my niece was here for college summer break! I thought it would be nice to get on their busy schedules and take them out to a nice dinner! My other nieces joined us and we had a great family time! Great food and great ambiance! Tynan , our waiter was awesome! I will definitely be back and they said they too would come back on separate occasions!
Thanks for providing a great meeting/eating place! The truffle bread, calamari and meatballs were delicious appetizers! Pesto chicken was a great entree choice!
Upon being taken to our table that was in the middle of 7 other tables, we asked to be seated in an area that we would be able to talk and hear each other, 2 of us, rather than being inundated with the high-level noise. It took a couple different staff and a few minutes to be seated outside which was comfortable for enjoying a great meal and service. Gunner was professional and took good care of us.
Italian restaurants are known for their fried calamari. This joint charges $14.50 for a plate of mostly arugula and very small bits of calamari sprinkled on top. Total rip off. Portions overall are very small, this chain is in a cost cutting mode.........
It was a very enjoyable eating experience. The service was very friendly and helpful. We loved our Gelatos with espresso! A perfect ending to a great, tasty meal! Thank you so much!
North Italia is consistently amazing at what they do - great food (gluten free options), cool vibe and waitstaff that take care of you really well not matter how busy & buzzing the resturaunt gets. I highly recommend it for a family get together, date night (may be hard to hear on a fri/wknd though) or a girls dinner out!!
We resently ate at north Italia. It was my niece's birthday and they went out of there way to make her birthday special. We has the best service ever. The manager Gabrielle was excellent. The food was great.
Good food great service
We love North Italia, always excellent, fresh and real.
The bucatini and meatballs are wonderful. The seasonal salad had just the right amount of crunch and sweetness. The italian doughnuts are a great way to top off the meal!
Absolutely fabulous! The food tasted homemade yet full of flavor. Everything was scrumptious yet affordable. Would definitely be back.
