North Italia – Arcadia Ratings and Reviews
First time. Was crowded and very noisy. Asked to sit on covered patio to have more comfortable space and have a conversation. Was cold out but heaters and open fire made it fine.
The tables are way to close together. Not sure you can do anything about noise level.
Food was fantastic! Service excellent.
Disappointed that we had to wait 20 minutes for a table even with a reservation. Service was slow. Took way too long to get a drink after seated. Our waiter was apologetic about how slow the bar was. Waiter was also nice and knowledgeable about menu and made great suggestions. Food was great.
North Italia was recommended by our niece and her husband when we visited Phoenix from Michigan. I have to eat gluten free and our server, Holland, made sure that our choices met this requirement. The food was the best we had on the trip. The service was also great. Never did we have to ask for water fill ups or any or anything. Holland made it seem like we were her only table.
We highly recommend North Italia as a most do when in the Phoenix area.
Fun night out with friends! The waitress was great and very attentive to which we were grateful. We will be returning, and I frequent North as a date night destination frequently. We have always had great service. The parking can be tricky, but at least they have valet!
Love to meet up with friends at North. It is right in the neighborhood, fun and the food is consistently delish. This was a double birthday celebration and we enjoyed it very much. I have taken clients to North for their special occasions and had a casual lunch or two there as well. I highly recommend it for the fun atmosphere and the great food.
Dined here last week while having date night, and we were both absolutely satisfied! Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, as well as the seasonal items.
Noteable favorites from our experience:
•Squid Ink Maldine!
•broad reserve wine list!
We kicked it off with a couple appetizers (Truffle Garlic Toast & the Chef’s Board)! The toast was pretty rich & extremely oily towards the bottom, but other than that was great. The Chef’s Board paired well with our Malbec (I’d come back just to try various wines off their reserved list). To top off the evening, we split the Squid Ink Maldine. This was the star of the evening; partially do to the calamari, partially the wholesome red sauce it was reduced with. We would rec to a friend fa sho!
Went there for my birthday, although there was no acknowledgement of that fact and other places might give you a free dessert that day (maybe something to work on), the food was just great. Had the short rib pasta, super tasty. The wife had the chicken parm again, still geat although had a couple of pieces with fat that probably should’ve been cleaned better. Kids loved their spaghetti and meat balls again. Flavor wise hope it stays consistent. Customer service and attentiveness in the kitchen needs a little improvement.
It is a recurring issue with this restaurant where they never have your table ready upon a preset time of your reservation, this is the reason reservations are made. Additionally the space designer did not take into account that high ceilings made of tin and glass would need noise reduction and damping measures of which there are none.
My husband and I went for new years day and it was a special 3 course meal for $55 pp. While the food was good and presentation was nice we were disappointed with the serving sizes. I could have easily eaten all 3 courses myself but purposely did not otherwise my husband would have walked out still hungry. I'm not sure if the serving sizes were "special" due to the occasion. I'm hoping so because I'd like to go back BUT want the serving sizes to match the price.
Normally North is one of my favorite neighborhood spots. Great food, great atmosphere and great value. New Year’s Eve dinner was a different story. There was a prixe fix menu, which was fine as the menu choices looked delicious. The price was a bit high, as if you added it up probably was more than you would pay ala carte but it was New Year’s Eve and was more reasonable than most places. That being said I thought there would at least be party hats at the table. Just some small bunches of balloons. I thought they could have made it more festive. The service was very slow and the server was distracted and not attentive at all. This is not usually the case at North. And I would like to say that it was no more busy than a usual evening at the restaurant. The food was excellent as I always feel it is. But it took forever to get our drinks and food. We ordered our dessert when we ordered dinner. Then we came to find out that two of the three desserts were no longer available despite the fact we had put our order in 1 and 1/2 hours earlier. We really did not care for the third dessert. But we’re not offered a discount for this either or even an apology. In fact our server even forgot we had already told her our dessert order. We had to ask. In fact we said they could give us a gift card. Our server came back and said they would take $7 off the bill. Now the table next to us had just been served the substiute dessert - gelato, which they accepted and then told their bill had been discounted same amount as ours while we ate no dessert. Why was there not a unified decision made by management when they ran out of desserts?
So 2 1/2 Hours later haven eaten only 2 courses, no dessert and no festive atmosphere we left feeling disappointed.
So yes I would recommend North highly, maybe just not for holiday dinners.
We had a reservation and my daughter wrote in bday which went unacknowledged.
The waiter was the busboy bringing water, clearing plates and rarely stopped by as he only focused on the big parties around us. We had to ask to order and flag him down the entire time. I tipped well out of pity.
