North India Restaurant
The food was great. However it did feel like they were understaffed, waited a while for service. But if it came down to it, my husband and I both agree that will take the slow service for the great tasting food.
Delicious, near everything and has a parking lot in back!
Terrible. I have been there before and the food was average. This time was far worse.
Food was brought out
The food was delicious, the service however was quite disappointing. The water pitcher staged on the table was dirty, with hard dried substances stuck to the glass. When we asked for a new pitcher, the waiter took ours and switched it with pitcher staged on an adjacent vacant table, leaving the dirty pitcher for some other future party. Our water glasses were only topped up once during the meal. When requesting a water top up, we were met with hesitation. The quality of the food was the saving grace of this restaurant.
Service was average and unattentive. We ordered starters and mains at same time but did not expect to have them served within 5 minutes of each other. By the time we tackled our main courses they were barely warm.
Not once were we asked by staff if everything was to our liking. It was not a busy evening.
The daal was very good but the chicken jalfrezi very poor with thin curry and tasteless chicken.
Maybe the USA has a totally different palate to the UK.
Furthermore, the music could do with toning down a little.
Would not visit again, and hence would not recommend to a friend.
The buffet style lunch was absolutely beautiful. I enjoyed a taste of everything. I did not have one bad dish. Absoluteley fabulous.
The service was great but most of the glasses was broken. The food was okay too.
I had always been a huge fan of the food here. However, this time, it was HUGE disappointment! The food was over-spiced (if there's such a word) and we had to take the food home (for 15 people) because nobody ate it.
We went to this restaurant to celebrate a coworker's birthday. This was a great place with a nice atmosphere and delicious food. It was very busy at lunchtime and a bit noisy, but we anticipated that could be the case based on the time of day. This will be one of our celebration spots!
First time here food was great
good portion of food
I was telling my kids to go and eat here.
I loved it 4🌟
Great lunch spot! They had a buffet which was good value and good food. Great service and attentive staff.
Great food and service
Great for group lunch and each guest can help themselves to their portion
Great place, location, and in every other manner. Highly recommend.
We were a group of ten senior women for lunch at 12:30, when we entered the restaurant was pretty full and lively but the music was very loud. We asked that the music be turned down and we were immediately accommodated. The menu had something for everyone in our group and the service was very attentive.
The service is really poor. We requested them to change the table cloth because it was dirty, they laughed and they didn’t do anything. Waiters don’t care about your request and this is not the first time it happens to me. Last time I got a bad experience with the service as well. I won’t go back again. The food is good but the service is too disappointing and it ruins the overall experience. Moreover, they seem to not really care about cleaning.
Authentic Indian food in a family run business. The food is spectacular
The food was a bit salty. Very loud and too crowded to have a buffet where people are up and moving around to get their food. I also saw a hair in one of the sauces.
One of the best Indian food I have had in a very long time at a restaurant.
Very reasonable and beyond my expectations!! I will go back.
Food was average. The Lassi was great, but the rest of the food items in the buffet were not great. Service was very poor to the point that i had to repeat my question and requests several times and there was barely any courtesy.
We had company from out of town and we called a few hours before our dinner reservation to confirm. We were told they could guarantee out seating and we would have to wait up to two hours for seating. Why offer a booking time if you are not going to honor the reservation. I can understand 15 to 20 delay but 2 hours!
I would NEVER eat at this place.
great food and very friendly staff. Best Indian food I ever had.
Muy picante. Platos normales.
Buffet food was cold so not as tasty as could have been.
We waiting 2hours for food.
Restaurant very busy, long wait to order, even llnger to get the food. 30 minutes all together. The chicken was good and spicy, the fish not so good.
Food was delicious. Not expensive, but still quite nice. Feels like a British curry house.
The space was decent but buffet was almost out even though it was still early.
one thing that bothered me was we had just started appetizers and halfway through they brought dinner and sides.
Not only does it feel like you are being rushed, but then you are afraid to move anything on the table because it is crowded with dished you feel you are going to knock over!
Stop in when in downtown SF, you won’t be disappointed.
Economical , not much gud Indian food choices near by
I had a dinner with my friend here. We got chicken tandoori and lamb dishes with rice and garlic bread. Food was good at reasonable price and service was great. Waiters were very attentive. Would go back!
A nice experience for our guests who were new to Indian cuisine. Jolly good!
Decent food with all of the Indian classics you'd expect to see. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, our service was really poor. At one point the waiter was in the middle of taking my order and decided to answer the phone to take an order for take away. He didn't come back to me for five minutes so I had to repeat the order. And then he answered the phone again! It was also very clear from the first few minutes that they wanted to get us out as quickly as possible. They made no effort to create any ambience and the nearest we got was the loud music being played in the kitchen. Overall, despite the food being fine the experience was very disappointing.
We got there a bit later in the evening and the place was empty.
To be fair it was a Monday.
Food took a really long time and service was ok, but honestly, the food was so so so so amazing, it didn’t matter. It’s literally the best Indian food we ever had. Everything was on point; Bombay chicken, chicken Marsala, the garlic naan bread was unreal.
The server was very polite and courteous, I think there just needed to be a little more attention to detail and attentiveness. But, we been there last year and it was still amazing then, also much busier and lively.
I give it a 5 star based on food. The service I feel bad putting down a bit, but it’s just so they do better. Because they’re extremely nice and food is unbelievable.
We had a reservation at 12:15pm for 10, two days prior. Called and checked about the reservation on the day of the reservation. When we arrived, the restaurant was full and the owner had no clue on how to get us seated. Kept asking us to wait for 10 mins more, 5 mins more, after about 20 mins we were still without a table. We arrived on time and we're still not seated.
Finally split my group into 2 tables and wrapped up lunch. Indian buffet at 12:45 is not always good but the food was fresh and tasty. Never going to make group reservations here.
This was the worst experience I have ever experienced in any Indian restaurant through the world. If your thinking of going here DONT. Food was cold and when we told the waiter he took our food away, rice with peas on top, lamb vindaloo, chicken vindaloo and breads. We had already put half the meal on our plates. He then asked if we wanted clean plates. Well the food on the late was cold too. Well on the food returning the rice was now mixed with the peas ? Obviously just reheated but when the meals returned they were half the original quantity. Sure no guessing they had reheated the original remaining food minus what was in the plate. Absolutely shocking for an overpriced crap meal. Please don’t waste your hard earned dollars this place is a joke. I’ve only write a fraction of what went wrong here but please please don’t Go it’s disgusting to treat full paying customers that way.
Upon entering the restaurant it was noticeably shy of patrons. Still, we were sat at a small table right next to two people. We asked to move and the obliged. Took about 15 min to get a drink (mind you the place had maybe 8 pp in it). Beer glass had large chip. Waiter asked to take order; I had a question. He rolled his eyes. Food order placed. One dish asked to be spicy. Food came promptly, some in chipped dishes. Had to use table next door for our dishes. Spicy dish not spicy and they added paneer. The whole time a single wait staff gentlemen walked back and forth behind us, depositing dishes loudly into bin. Dishwasher is banging dishes, too. And then, out of nowhere, they blared Indian music...but they did dim the lights.
