North End American Grill Ratings and Reviews
When the best thing you can say about a restaurant is that your server was okay, you know you should avoid the establishment at all costs. We made a reservation for 8PM thru Open Table. Probably waited 20 minutes to be seated. Then waited another 5 for the server to appear. Place was super busy given all that was happening that weekend. After drinks were ordered and served, we finally were ready to order. Instead of a list of specials, your server tells you what they're out of...and unfortunately, it was a lot. Not only were they out of items before we ordered, after we ordered, our server had to come back twice to get substitute orders for things that they also ran out of since we gave her our order. Shame on me as this was not our first negative experience here. We knew going in they would be out of something. But it will be our last visit here. We made a group pact never to come back for dinner. And that really tells you all you need to know. Fine for drinks and outside seating, but the management needs to improve. It's a limited menu to begin with, so a restaurant like this should never run out of things like salmon, oysters and crab meat, just to name a few of the "we're out of" items.
We came here for my birthday this past Saturday. We had a reservation but we're still seated late at a table that had been open since we had shown up. We have had dinner here previously a few years ago but after this dinner we will not be returning. The food was subpar and we had to remind them of things that were missing in the table's order each time a round of food came out. The waitress was nice but seemed overwhelmed because she rarely came over to check on us or ask if we needed more drinks. It was a very disappointing meal.
Don't waist your time and money. Overpriced and poor food. Prime rib requested as medium rare came gray and the waitress twice said that's all they 'are allowed to do.' It was 6 p.m. Friday night yet the they were out of ribs. Middle of summer at the beach?!? Fish was soggy; clam flatbread missing a lot of clams.
Seasonal veggie -- spinach was very good. Waitress was very friendly but could not help. No manager in site. Men's restroom was OFFENSIVE: standing at the urinal with women in thong bikini's with their backside facing the man. Really!??! And it was messy, dirty floor.
In a nutshell, maybe only for a beer and burger. NOTHING ELSE.
It was very loud. The waitress was super busy and it a long time to get our order. The first Pepsi was flat and the second one wasn't much better. The prime rib came out and it was like shoe leather. The waitress got me a new one that was better. The kids portion of noodles was tiny and came out cold and the meatball was like ice. My husband had a burger that was "OK". The only thing that made it worth going to was the $4 glass of wine. It's early in the season so maybe it will improve as they get more experience.
First time for brunch at the Northend. Memorial Weekend - 10:30-11:00a.m. Busy and loud. Service was very slow. Food was served on the not-so-warm side but it was tasty. Crab cake benedict had a crab cakes (2) the size of a McNugget and was good just not hot. The sausages were not hot. During brunch we ordered another round of cocktails which came when our meal was over. The waitress did apologize for the slow service. Not sure if I'd return as I like my food served "hot". It seemed obvious that our entrees were sitting waiting to be served for awhile. For $60+ I'd more than likely not return for brunch.
Unfortunately, this was not a positive experience. Service was awful. The food was mediocre at best. My husband arrived a little bit late and was never even asked if he wanted to order something - even after he asked for something to drink and our food was delivered. Our drinks were never refilled. Out of everything we ordered, the chicken fingers my daughter had good though. Our bill was pretty expensive for 3 kids meals (2 pasta and 1 chicken fingers) and pizza. We actually paid our bill and walked down the street for my husband to have dinner and then we ordered dessert there. Also, some items on the online menu were not on the actual menu. Unfortunately, one of those items was something that we wanted to order as our meal. But I understand that those things do happen. It was just very disappointing overall. I could see this being a good place to get drinks, but I won't be back with my family for dinner any time soon.
Dinner of Crabcakes came out ice cold ...sent back got replaced w another dinner ... less in price but the crab cake price was on the bill .. had eat alone since other dinners were eaten while new meal cooked ... other dinners were fine ...
that dinner should have been off the bill ...
Our server was wonderful (I'm sorry, I can't recall her name). The salmon was some of the best I've ever had, and the orange creamsicle dessert was delicious! The $20 three course meal was AMAZING! My husband had the ribs, and he's a rib "snob"--he LOVED them!
North End American Grill advertised that it was part of Wildwood Restaurant Week. We found out after being seated that they were not. So we ordered off the menu, and bc it POURED rain and we were soaked and the air condition was on high and we were freezing, we ordered soup, along with drinks & an entree. The soup never came. When we asked for it, the waitress said, "oh I never put it in, do you still want it?"
Yes, yes we do. They were out of tuna, so I ordered crab cakes, mostly filler. Salad was good though.
Food was great and very generous portions. One critique: we ordered wedge salads as an appetizer and then entrees which came with salads. Instead of just allowing us to pay a few extra dollars to have just the wedge and not the house salad too, we were told we had to have both salads because "we would be charged for a whole other salad." But we decided to package them up and have for lunch the next day. Will be returning.
Service was slow but good. They handed us the wrong appetizers. Then it took almost 10 minutes to let someone know. Teriyaki tuna was fishy and dry. Stuffed flounder was so bad my wife complained and waitress took it off the bill. First and last time for this family
