North End American Grill
** Wednesdays Kitchen TakeOver from Cape May BBQ- $1 Oysters, Clam Bake & BBQ on wed. No regular menu**
Friendly staff. Food and drinks were good!
We have never had a bad meal at North End, that is until last Friday. We were very disappointed in the roast beef sandwich. We were expecting home made roast beef but it was a processed lunch meat. We didn’t care for it.
Menu has fewer items than desired. Last time I was at north end they had a good selection.
horrible dinner <extremly over priced drinks that were tiny amounts, never again
We had a decent meal. Beer selection was weak. Mostly lights and lagers with one or two IPA's. Not interesting. Crab Cake BLT was excellent. Seafood Caesar was was a good portion but the dressing was bland and there were no peppers or pickles to pick it up and nothing with crunch. Horseradish, croutons and lemon wedges would have helped. Outdoor dining was nice except for competing music from other venues and motorcycle noise.
Food was terrible. Oysters smelled really bad I didn’t even eat them. Ordered a burger medium done came to table extra well done and dry. Just told them I’m leaving.
First time they’re enjoyed sitting outside and people watching food was decent service was great
Place was cute and Street was closed for outdoor dining. The day we went they were only offering bbq, nothing off their regular menu.
Both my husband and I were served cold food, which is strange because if they were grilling fresh food should have been steaming hot since we were 5 tables from the outdoor kitchen. Also no kids menu so my daughter got Mac and cheese side and that was never brought to us. Server was nice and we never voiced our concerns which maybe we should have. So we walked across the street and got pizza.
The food is low grade and not worth your money. Mahi fish tacos are not fresh and frozen fish sticks. The crab cake is dry and under seasoned. The roast beef sandwich comes with mayo that claims to be horseradish sauce. You can go to Russo's down the street and get more fresh roast beef.
We decided to try this place because we saw an ad on the beach for $1 oysters during happy hour. Unfortunately they were out of oysters when we got there but we ordered other items off the happy hour menu and regular menu. I ordered the turkey burger which was delicious and made up for missing the oysters. Overall, great experience and great service.
Unfortunately the menu on line did not match the very limited menu we received, it was much more casual than we expected. The entree I received was missing cole slaw,
which was on the menu,, the waiter made no attempt to apologize or notify the manager that we were unhappy.
Won't go again
A dollar Oyster? What?? No way!!!
Ordered a dozen with happy hour drinks and fries with buffalo sauce and blue cheese? Say no moreee!!
Completely satisfied and pleasured.
ILL BE BACK AGAIN!!!! Today.
Nothing listed on their online menu was available. The site made it look relaxing but the crowds were chaotic and good ambience was not existent.
I was upset as I was looking for good food and all they had was fried bar foods. Not at all what was advertised. We ended up leaving and it was very difficult to find a new place on a Saturday after 7p
Coconut shrimp was delicious burger borderline mediocre
Very good food. You need to clear the tables quicker because the seagulls “attack” the table creating chaos in the neighboring tables.
I was expecting a little better menu it was just wrapS and sandwiches better for lunch
The outside dining (due to COVID) was less than ideal. The music from all outside restaurants in the area combined so that you could not actually hear any one musician but heard them all together. The food was ok, not great and the menu was not as indicated on the website. The service was good. All drinks (even martinis) are served in disposable cups, not ideal. I would avoid at least until it opens for inside dining.
The venue was set up nicely for the distancing and being outside. The service was very good. The BBQ ribs and wings were very good. The clam bake was not good. A lot of the clams shells were empty and very small clams. The crab legs, corn and shrimp were over cooked and soggy. The sausage was good. The drinks were expensive and served in small plastic cups.
Online menu is not being offered - limited menu now - no raw bar, flatbreads. And Tuesday $1 oysters “sold out” at 7pm? Doubt they had any. Deceptive! Update your website!!!
The outside dining accommodations were great during this time of COVID-19. My family and I had a great time.
Crab cakes were outstanding.
social distance was in place.
servers wore masks and my family was seated away from others.
Cocktails were also very enjoyable
Couldn't wait to get back to the North End but with Covid it took a little longer. Finally open for outside dining and we were so happy! Never disappoints. They kept apologizing because it started to rain.. we reassured them it was fine but so so nice... as always! Now just waiting for the full menu since it is a limited one due to Coronavirus.
Everything was really good. Was a little surprised and disappointed that you are paying 24.00 for 4 scallops and some rice... no salad or any other sides with the entrees... to spend 70.00 for two people and we both stopped and ate again 2 hours later because we were starving...
Great service, food good (pub type food)
It was nice sitting outside
Felt super rushed, was in and out in 30 minutes. While getting our food super fast wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, my wrap was missing an ingredient that was literally in its name. Waitress seemed to not really care and only took $2 off the bill.
Went for happy hour, $1 oysters were delicious!! Service was great and atmosphere was even better! I’ll be back for sure!
Great to sit outside and people watch. Our waitress was awesome and the food was great!
Nice set up considering the rules for covid . Food was good service as good . I’m not happy about the small plastic cup for beer they coupled big bigger maybe pint size other then that not bad,
Caveat: This was 6/21/2020, and COVID-19 was still in our lives. We ate outside at the North End, and it was very good. The food and service were actually great, and the ambience, eating outdoors, was refreshing. However, the 'noise' from having OldNew Jersey Ave closed to traffic, and all of the people treating the closure like it was for a party-weekend, was a little annoying - but that's not the fault of the restaurant. Well done North End!!!
Slow and terrible service and no cocktail menu. Food was good. The street that the restaurant is on is fun.
Our waiter was wonderful. He made the night special.
The food was average and the wine selection was limited. The service was good but it was loud even though we ate inside. Not the best place to bring a family with young children.
Our service was outstanding -
Slight miscommunication with our hostess and reservations didn't cause much of a hiccup. The bartenders and wait staff were very friendly. Food was perfectly cooked and delicious. Some fun twists on typical pub food. We will definitely be returning in the near future.
Reservation at 5:30 , sat right away and appetizers came quickly. Main entrees also served quickly. Only two complaints, flat bread was pretty much a thick crust pizza instead of traditional flatbread. Also the fish in the fish tacos was very bland. Needed hot sauce! Our waiter Tom was very attentive.
Hostess was rude from the moment we walked in the door. Service was slow. I think they use Bubba burgers for their burgers as they were dry and bland. The best part of the meal were the fries. Wouldn’t go back.
Nice location. Around a lot of other restaurants. Sat outside and it was very noisy. Had the crab cake BLT and is was AMAZING! Husband had wings and he enjoyed them, too.
Love it here and close to my home!
My 4th time here and have never left hungry! Service is wonderful and the food leaves me wanting to come back for more!
Our first visit to North End Tavern and Grill was this past Friday night, while staying with friends for the weekend in North Wildwood. Very lively place; good bar scene, indoor or outdoor tables, food was very good. My shrimp and avocado wrap was very good. Accompanied with sweet potato fries, and a few Kona draft beers made for a wonderful evening!
