North Coast Cafe Ratings and Reviews
I've dined at North Coast several times and always order the buffet lunch for convenience and to save time. The quality and variety of salad and entrée options is always very good to excellent. The serving staff is most often attentive with few exceptions. I appreciate the smaller sizes of desserts as a bite is usually all I want and I hate to waste food. Thank you!
I had the cobb salad which was ok. I ordered it because of the blue cheese, but the blue cheese was hard to find and very mild. The chicken was overcooked and dry. Lettuce was fresh, but I expected more for the price. If I ordered that on the hospital cafeteria, I would have said it wad a good salad.
My mom had the vegetable barley soup which had a few pieces of celery and some slivers of carrots. She was expecting more vegetables. Our server Alberto was very polite and accomodating.
The food was fresh and good. Especially for a buffet. Service was slow. All the staff would disappear for minutes. But they were all incredibly nice. We weren't in a hurry, so it wasn't a big deal. A couple people in our party customized their omelets and thought Marcus did a great job. When I need a brunch spot in University Circle, I will consider this again.
I came in with a group of coworkers for the lunch buffet during the week. The food was fresh and delicious. Everyone was impressed by the entrees as well as the dessert bar. Compliments to the chef!
The service however was terrible. We were never offered drinks other than water, we had to ask for our check 6 times before the server brought it to us. The dishes were cleared off the table quickly by the bussers.
Celebrated the end of summer research projects for two students in my group. The whole group enjoyed the variety and quality of the lunch buffet, with delicious choices for a vegetarian (me) and the carnivores in the group (with brisket, fish, etc.). Fresh pasta, the carving bar and the dessert selection were highlights. Friendly service, great value!
It's a shame when an Intercontinental hotel price gauges it's customers for badly prepared Sysco food. The menu was uninspiring and bland that tasted like it was microwaved. Save yourself time and money and go to a Waffle House. The food is the same anyway.
My husband and I had gone to this restaurant last year and enjoyed it - so this time we invited another couple. We wanted to have a leisurely brunch before heading over to see the latest exhibit at the Natural History museum. They loved it - the food was good - they raved over the omelets, the smoked salmon was of a high quality and the bacon was crisp without being dry. They asked us to add it to the small list of restaurants on our regular go-to list.
The buffet cuisine is incredible. A large variety to fit every diner's desire! The roast was perfectly cooked, juicy and succulent. Pasta is made to order, and there was catfish for the fish lovers. The best part? The desserts! My only critique is that our waitress forgot to bring my ice tea and had to be reminded, but it was lunch time so it was busy. The ambiance is mellow and pleasant,
Nice elegant brunch but the dress is casual since it is inside of the hotel and I don't think the patrons have to dress up. The brunch buffet was limited in choices compared to more casual restaurants but we found it filling from the made to order omelets to the smoked salmon - The service was impeccable - personalized attention without being overbearing - and do not miss the crispy bacon !!
The $20 lunch buffet is an amazing value. Everything was delicious. I loved the worldly nature to the menu - lots of international selections. Also so many varied options including a chef attended stir fry station and lamb carving station. Definitely head over, but make a reservation as CC employees fill this place up.
We often go to the North Coast Cafe for special lunches. The buffet is consistently surprising, delicious and varied. There are always delicious vegetarian options, fish and carved meats for those so inclined. The salads are fresh, with unexpected pairings of flavors and ingredients. And finally, the desserts... Hmmmm :)
We had heard that North Coast Cafe has a great lunch buffet. We arrived at 12:30 to an empty restaurant and the news that on Saturdays business is very slow, so no buffet and we would have to order from the menu. Our 4 people had food from "okay" to "excellent."
Our waiter was clearly on the job for the first day. He was friendly and smart, and he'll be a good waiter after he's had a few days of training. Since we were paying a hefty full price, we deserved an experienced waiter.
Decor and atmosphere beautiful,.
While the food was really goood, (I had a lamb burger) the waiter was inefficient and forgetful, he seemed pay more attention to tables with men, than to a table with two women, even forgetting our appetizer then claiming the kitchen was busy when we asked about it. The restaurant was not full and they were not that busy. He ruined an experience for my friend as this was a special lunch for her.
So take your chances, food good, service not so.
