The host and waiters who have been there for 20+ years have elegant old world manners. They are welcoming, polite and make you feel so good to be there. The food is excellent. My husband's family is from Italy so he's a discerning critic of Italian food. If you haven't tried it, please do so. And they have valet parking!

Been going to NBR for over yeeears. Sad to hear the passing of the original owners. I understand the chef is still the same and the food shoes as it still is great. However the limited choice shows the change and most disappointing was desert! Not the old stuff.

Such an amazing experience as always. One of our favorite restaurants to visit when we are in The City. The scamponi is a must try as is the Costoletta Di Vitello! Nino and Mo made our anniversary dinner extra special and memorable. Thank you!!!

The pasta dishes we ordered were excellent. This restaurant makes their own flat noodles which were really good. The tiramisu was the best I’ve had in SF. Overall food and service was excellent.

Exceeded all of our expectations for an amazing Italian dinner in San Francisco! We were warmly welcomed and seated at a beautiful table with a view. The waiter described the dishes well and wine pairing was perfect. We started with marinated calamari and mushroom bruschetta which was divine. My husband had the Petrale sole piccata, I had the pasta carbonara and our granddaughter loved the Pesto pasta….all so delicious!

Disappointing, uninspired food in a terribly noisy environment. This used to be our ‘go to’ restaurant in San Francisco. Sad to see how it has changed (unfavorably).

The spaghetti sauce here is the best I have ever eaten. I have had other things here before but always go back for their spaghetti. The service is amazing. They make you feel welcome when you walk in, and make you want to come back when you leave. I highly recommend this restaurant. They have gluten free roteni noodles as well.

Everything about our meal was exceptional. We were made to feel welcome when we entered the restaurant; our waiter was informative, funny, and professional; and the food was outstanding. We look forward to going back as soon as possible.

We dined at North Beach restaurant tonight and had a wonderful experience. My husband and I were out for the day visiting San Francisco and we ended up finishing a long day with dinner in North Beach, saw great reviews for this restaurant so wanted to give it a try. When we first went in we got worried that we weren’t dressed up enough (we were in shorts and tshirts/sweatshirts) and even though we had a reservation, came outside to discuss what to do. Mo saw this and came out to tell us that we were just fine as we were and welcomed us. I have never felt more welcomed at a restaurant! Rave reviews for Mo! Our little ones were well behaved the whole time but at one point my 6 year old daughter accidentally spilled her water. Mo to the rescue again! She came over to give us a another tablecloth to put on top so we weren’t putting our arms in the wetness. She even brought over a fancy little cup for my daughter and her own decanter of water. Mo turned a moment that could have been embarrassing/sad for my daughter into a special moment for her. I would also like to note that Yahir was a wonderful waiter the whole time and even brought over a little treat for the little ones while we waited for our dinner. Between Yahir and Mo we not only felt welcome but we felt like VIPs. The restaurant was beautiful and all of the food we tried was delicious. Thank you to Mo and Yahir for helping us to have a fantastic dinner to end our day in San Francisco! Highly recommend!!

me and my wife had the most amazing dinner there. The crew in the maître d’ were exemplary in their service. Truly felt like a VIP. Everybody had so much personality and made us feel so welcome and happy to be there. The place is completely steeped in nostalgia. The silverware and the plates are in teak and the food was so good that just the very next day I’m craving it all over again. Me and my wife drove to San Francisco all the way from Monterey just to go to the North Beach Restaurant. At this point I will not go to San Francisco without a visit to this restaurant.
