    North Beach Restaurant was a wonderful experience. In making the reservation I noted we wanted a quiet table because of a hearing problem of one of or party. They put us in a separate area near the bar but the noise level was very good and we ha some terrific conversations. From the food, to the wine to the wonderful customer service we really enjoyed our dinner. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting San Francisco.

    Overall experience was nice. The service was perfect. Ambiance nice. The food was overall fine with some dishes being just average. Other dishes were better. Glad to make it back to the restaurant before it closes.

    My favorite meal in the city! Always amazing food and ambiance. I really hope they are able to stay open! It would be a great loss to San Francisco if they do end up closing.

    We used to go there when my inlaws were alive but had not been for over 10 years. My daughter read that it was closing so requested we go for her bday dinner. It did not disappoint. We got a great table by the window and had wonderful service. They had a specisl appetizer that was amazing... too bad they are closing

    As always, all was terrific! Cocktail with the friendly bartender, wonderful antipasto appetizer, delicious eggplant parm and calamari steak, delectable tiramisu. Hope whoever takes over continues this wonderful traditional Italian dining experience!

    We wanted to come after reading about the impending closing. Live in Bay Area all my life, parents and grandparents in the restaurant business; however, I do not recall having been here. Glad we went but sorry it was almost too late cuz we would come again. Thank you for an excellent experience, delicious meal, marvelous service. Buona fortuna to all e Grazie per tutti!

    Great to have the best veal in the Bay Area. Wonderful service and a great wine list. Burrata starter was on point along with house cured prosciutto that melts in your mouth.

    Food was excellent! Service friendly and efficient. Too bad they are closing; it is truly an "old San Francisco" restaurant. Happy to say it was very crowded, hence the very noisy atmosphere. But it was fun to be out and know others were enjoying the evening, too.

    We loved the service, the food, the ambiance..everything. We are so sad the restaurant is closing which is why the evening was so important to us. We had our wedding dinner there 45 years ago. It is still as special as always.

    Mixed bag experience: greeted and seated professionally, wine we brought was decanted quickly, questions answered in a friendly manner…but probably was talked into accidentally purchasing 4 rather expensive appetizers…cocktails were awesome. Food brought b/f we finished cocktails. Accommodated us to try a pasta and split three-ways & accommodated a guest w dietary limitations…dinner arrived, but afterwards it was hard to get any attention at all…we ended up not ordering dessert or coffee because waiters never checked back on us so we decided to leave. Overall I can see why the restaurant is closing even though we were super excited to partake in an end of an era.

    The food and ambience were very good. The only issue we had was with the wine order. We ordered a certain bottle; and didn't clearly looked at the bottle when it was served. When we got the bill, the $45.00 bottle was over $90.00. When we questioned it, the server said the bottle we ordered wasn't available. They never told us ahead of time so we could choose a different bottle, and instead gave us the more expensive bottle from the same winery. That is the only negative about this restaurant.

    My family and I ate here last Friday and I was very excited to show them this place because it is always packed and close to my house. Unfortunately our experience was far less than par. Waiter was all over the place. Took our menus without asking to “create space for the sharing plates” then forgot he did it and we had to ask for them back. Didn’t know what San pelligrino was. I don’t know if he was just stressed or if he was on drugs but I did not feel like a valued customer, but instead more like a nuisance Food quality was all over the place as well. Lobster appetizer- 6 good sized lobster tails, decent but clearly not very fresh (flesh had become dry etc) Linguine with clams - horrendous, tasted like I was slurping up the SF bay. Actually rancid clams. Penne arrabbiata - good dish but nothing to write home about. Veil picatta - delicious, 4.5-5 star dish.

    I had the lamb, shank and polenta. It was wonderful. Going back again tonight. Visit this restaurant. Every time I come to San Francisco for a number of years now. Five star service can’t be beat!

    Both the manager and our server went out of their way to accommodate us. They helped make our meal especially enjoyable! I would rush back, I would run back as quickly as I could.

    Heard about this gem for ages but never got around to visiting it until recently. I must say that this is one of the fewest places where there’s plenty of attention without pushiness. We both we taken great care of and appreciate this—from the beginning to the end. The lasagna and pasta that were had (on top of the wine) was the perfect combo to set the mood for the rest of the evening. Glad we came and we would love to come back
