North Beach Fish Camp Ratings and Reviews
We had calendar, oysters, & mussels to start...excellent! Every meal was cooked perfectly scallops, shrimp & grits, seafood linguine & blackened mahi. Our server was spot on even after I picked on him (jokingly) about his fast talking. Look forward to our next visit.
As always, we enjoyed our visit and meal at North Beach. Its a fantastic combination of casual elegance, good food and service - and a wonderful local option menu.
The noise level was high, but it was new years eve, so we expected it.
The blackened mahi was fab as always.
Over the top dining experience. They really captivated the essence of our local beaches and express it through their food, atmosphere and customer service. Chef Taylor and Andre made sure we felt right at home. Andre is a nice addition to the staff. He makes you want to stay and get desert:)
I went to North Beach Fish Camp for lunch with family (6 total) from Georgia to celebrate our Christmas meal together. Our server was "Miss Audrey". She was great at explaining the specials & very attentive. She also took the time to make our guests feel welcome. Our drinks were never empty & she was always right there to check on us even though she had several other tables of diners.
We walked in & were seated right on time (1130am) with our Open Table reservation. Parking was available.
The Oyster Poor Boy sandwich was full of hot fresh oysters and came with some large fries.
My grandson ordered the fried chicken over grits & substituted butter beans for the collard greens. The fried shrimp were hot & crispy with good flavor. The Shrimp roll was very tasty.
Two of us ordered the Blackened Mahi sandwich. It was very fresh & just the right amount to seasoning on it.
All of us had a great time & our meal was very good.
We were able to purchase two gift cards from Miss Audrey to give as last minute Christmas gifts too.
I went here for lunch with 3 co-workers who were from out of state. This was their first time at North Beach Fish camp. Our server was "Mel" and she was very attentive & made some great recommendations both of the food & the local area.
All four of us ordered the Blackened Mahi Sandwich. We also ordered some fried shrimp, fried green tomatoes & Greek salads.
The Mahi sandwich was hot & fresh & a large piece of Mahi. Everyone enjoyed the fried green tomatoes & greek salads. The fried shrimp appetizer was a big hit.
Even though the restaurant was full, we were seated right away with our open table reservation & there was parking in the rear of the restaurant. The general manager "Eric" stopped by to check in & thanked us for dining at North Beach.
This restaurant has great food and service but can be extremely noisy. Menu has many excellent choices. I had a fish called triple tail and it was outstanding. Our waitress was great in explaining the menu and making suggestions. My wife did not like her appetizer and the waitress noticing it was not eaten replaced it with another choice. I would recommend this restaurant for really great food but not for much conversation
We brought our friends who were visiting from NY and one is a foodie and one has food allergies and they were both very pleased. For our fried who had food allergies, the waitress was very knowledgeable about the ingredients and the options to have things on the side or cooked with different sauces. We all had different dishes and loved them.
Our evening at North Beach was excellent. We all started with cocktails and shared appetizers of Fried Green Tomatoes and Crusted Artichoke Hearts which were amazing. Our entrees were excellent, including Mahi-mahi with grits and Scallops. I can’t say enough about the service, and outstanding food. Just fantastic.
For a date night had to sit very close to front door, food cold , no taste, fried shrimp very small and no meat to the shrimp. french fries very cold, hard, no taste. the cod was very poor. Overall a very disappointing experience plus cost very high. I am sorry I made the choice.
The server was the worst I’ve had at this establishment. She yelled even louder than necessary, and this restaurant is extremely noisy already. So she was truly screaming. They did not have either of the 2 different beverages a member of our party ordered even though she stated plainly “We have EVERYTHING else on the menu except that.” when the first drink selection was made. Second go round she stated the second choice was also not available. If I return and she is my waitress, I will ask for a different server.
We Sat upstairs which is quieter. This restaurant is rather famous for being noisy. The upstairs retains the old architectural detail of the original building and those of us who have been going there for many years remember when it was a bar and You could lean out over the sidewalk while you drink your beer. The building is a Neptune Beach landmark and the Fishcamp provides excellent seafood dishes.
