North 26 Restaurant & Bar Ratings and Reviews
We celebrated my wife’s milestone birthday. We used to frequent Seasons and had some doubts about the new restaurant but we were pleasantly surprised! Kudos to a great new dining experience! We will definitely be back on our next trip to Boston, and we will likely stay at the Bostonian as well.
Lighting made it challenging to see the menu as there were no lights above our table; and I usually like it dark, but I do like to be able to see. Service was poor initially, but they were kind enough to comp our first round of drinks due to the delay. Food was eclectic and pretty good for a hotel restaurant. Cocktails were very good. Music could have added to the ambiance. Server was difficult to understand due to language barrier, but was nice. Overall I would give the experience a 7.5 out of 10.
We had a great time at North 26. It is right outside the hustle and bustle of Quincy Market. There was good people watching as well as the street performers. The wait staff was some of the best we have had! My child was being a huge pain and they accommodated her by making her pancakes at lunch. They had a great lobster special running for $20 you could get a lobster, chowder, corn and potatoes. Most of the restaurant was enjoying that. Most of us had the two for $12 lunch special. The salads and sandwiches were great. The two for $12 also came with spicy chips and a pickle. There was more than enough food. The lobster and shrimp cob looked amazing! Then bread basket was also great!! We loved the little bottles of condiments as well, they are so cute! It was another great Open Table find!
The waiter paid more attention to his loyal customers, sitting at the next table, than us, even they came after we placed the orders. They were given bread while we got nothing until the waiter saw me starring at him, then he realized what happened and told the assistant to give us bread. The loyal customers happened to order the same as us and they got the food first! I don't mind the waiter served the loyal customers better. However, he should still serve other customers according to standard. Food was good.
We tried the restaurant because of Dine Out Boston.
We were not greeted with a basic hello. We asked to sit outside, you'd think we asked for the moon on a silver platter. Was never asked if we wanted a drink. Our water glass was filled once. Our app. plates were never cleared before our main course. No one even asked if we had everything we needed or things were okay. And it appeared there was only a couple of other tables.
And we over heard the manager at an adjoining table take no responsibility for anything concerns. This party was told the Dine Out menu had sold out (at 12:30!!) and was looking for a resolution, which I do think they got.
Food was pretty good, but not worth the poor service, which certainly didn't make us feel like a welcomed guest, at all.
Very few restaurants were open for breakfast on the day before the 4th of July. We happened to find this place and checked the menu for appropriate food choices and we're pleased to see it should suit our diverse group. Upon arrival we were asked to wait just five minutes which was fine as we were a bit early. They made up a nice round table. Excellent coffee and other beverages were offered. Gluten free bread was on the menu. The food choices were very appealing. The food itself was excellent and served hot. Everything was very fresh. Service was appropriate.
Sign out front "dollar oysters 4 to 6 pm"... Checked into hotel where they even reminded us about the restaurants oyster special so we actually changed our reservation we had elsewhere just to eat here since my wife loves oysters and we have never seen dollar oysters.. Guess what? Arrived just after 5 and aside from only ONE other table being in the entire place, they did not have oysters today.. Service was poor and nonexistent and i ordered a smoked salmon appetizer and received a smoked salmon club sandwich.. hmmm. Overall a miserable experience.
We went to North 26 after my son was admitted to the MA Bar Assoc. We were immediately welcomed into the restaurant. The staff was very courteous. They sat us even though we were early for our reservation and gave us time to get settled. The food was very good. It was an excellent experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to eat in the Faneuil Hall area.
I thought with 4.4 stars out of 5 that North 26 would be a nice spot for a casual meal, but dinner was a disappointment. The appetizers and salads were good, but the entrees were overdone. When I eat seafood, I want to taste the seafood. It was over-sauced and over-seasoned. And the service was terrible. Our server would frequently disappear to the back of the restaurant, leaving us to ask the hostess (who noticed the poor service) and the other servers for bread, drinks, and eventually even for our check.
We are visiting Boston for the weekend and went to North 26 based on the good reviews on Open table. We were greeted right away upon entry, and were led to our table with menus already set up. They also have kids menu available. The waitress Lena (I'm going off on memory, so if I got your name wrong I apologize) was professional, helpful, and ready with a smile, one of the best waiting staff I have met to date. Our food came fairly quickly, they are warm and delicious. We had the shell fish risotto, salmon, scallops, mushroom pizza, and 2 kids had mac and cheese and hot dog with fries. The food were delicious, especially the pizza and the scallops, although the hot dog is a bit wrinkly so it doesn't look great, but the kid loves it so all is well. Overall, a good evening and great experience.
Lovely "buck a shuck" location. We went for the oyster special and we were very pleased. Excellent oysters and great cocktails. Stayed for Dinner and met friends and we continued to be very pleased with North 26. The location is great, right across from Fanuiel Market, but completely removed from the crowd and array of tourist trap restaurants. Food was very good, service was attentive and warm. This is not your typical restaurant in a Hotel. Very good experience.
I love this place. This is the third time I've been to North26. The service is always professional and the food is consistently delicious. This visit they had a prime rib special for only $20 and it was great. Our waiter made sure the prime rib was cooked exactly as I asked and he suggested a great bottle of wine to go with dinner as well.
I have dined here before. Always consistent. We were greeted as we came through the door. Our reservation was for a two-person table near the window, however, I requested larger booth and was immediately accommodated. The waitress and server was friendly and knowledgeable. Staff was attentive without being intrusive.
A friend and I decided to try 26 North, for Dine out Boston, because of the varied food options. We arrived earlier than our 4:00 Reservation time and were seated right away. This probably accounts for the quiet Restaurant. The waiter was friendly and informative. For my first course, I ordered Lobster Bisque. It was okay, not bad. My friend ordered Shrimp on a skewer. I tasted it, it was good. For our entree, We both ordered the Shrimp and Seared Scallops over a bed of shredded cabbage and Carrots with a thin trim of Mashed Potatoes. It was good. For dessert we both ordered The Apple Crostada with Caramel Sauce drizzled over it. The Apples were very Salty. I didn't like it. My friend liked it. She liked everything. I have eaten at various Restaurants and 26 North was not a memorable Dining experience to me.
The food was fabulous! We decided to try North 26 because it was the first day of Taste of Boston. So glad we did. I am on a very restricted diet due to a medical condition. The wait staff was so concerned that I could not order the dessert portion of my 3-course special, that they delivered a bowl of huge fresh strawberries for my eating pleasure.
Also, our table provided a fabulous view of the beautiful Custom House. It was a magical evening.
We liked the 26 North Restaurant breakfast menu and decided to eat there during our stay at the Bostonian Hotel. My husband enjoyed his vegetarian Eggs Benedict, which was a nice option. I ordered a Mediterranean egg white frittata. It was my fault that I did not request that this be cooked well, as the egg whites were very runny, but the fact that our server never came back to ask how our food was or if we needed anything was the disappointing factor, especially considering how pricey the food is at this restaurant. I expected top-notch service. The server was good at keeping the coffee refilled, but other than that we only saw him when it was time to present the check. The next time we stay at The Bostonian we will not eat at 26 North.
Had friends in town so we needed a place that could accommodate 11 people. Found North 26 on Open Table and made a reservation without high expectations. We were offered a private room and the service was excellent. Definitely exceeded our expectations and we would go back again . Jairo was an excellent waiter. I did not get the name of the hostess, but she was great as well.
Service was extremely amateur on the evening I went. Multiple reminders for requested drinks and multiple clarifications on what was ordered. The wait times for order taking was far too long given the moderate volume of customers in the restaurant.
