North 26 Restaurant & Bar

Nice location and ambiance. However, it took one hour from the time of order to first food coming to the table even though the restaurant was not full. Manager took responsibility and credited some items but the overall service during Mother's Day brunch was sub par.
We came for the Sunday brunch. The food was very good, but the service was slow.
The food was very good with large servings. The bar was lively but the dining area was quiet enough that you could have a decent conversation. Most tables have a view of the Quincy Market place across the street which made for great people watching. I am not in Boston often, but I would go back to North 26 again.
We had a very pleasant lunch. Salad bowls were very good. Service was pleasant and efficient.
Great location. Service was very good. Atmosphere is bit bland, but there is a good view from the seats near bar. Swordfish was a bit over cooked. Short ribs were better. Apps and desert were good.
Ordered 2 different salads which were great. Some confusion with who our server was, but we received attentive service regardless. Would try it again
My family went to North 26 today for Easter brunch. We received a warm and welcoming greeting from the hostess Paula. She was delightful! Our next interaction was with our server Martha who was friendly and very courteous. We have had many wonderful meals here before, but both of these ladies really made the entire experience very enjoyable. We ordered a variety of different entrees but highlights were the halibut, the filet mignon, and the lobster and shrimp omelets. The food was delicious and beautiful...our compliments to the kitchen staff here as well! We also enjoyed meeting Russell, the dining room manager. He came by to greet us and made us feel very welcome. Overall, this was another memorable meal at North 26! We will definitely be back!
Absolutely loved the food & service. We felt that the wine was overpriced.
My husband and I came here for a 30th anniversary dinner. The menu offerings were first class and the food tasted great, from cocktails to dessert. Thanks for the great evening.
Great staff and great food. Terrific street view makes it a truly Boston experience. Highly recommend!
I had the surf & turf. The filet was very tasty and cooked nicely to order. However, I was a little disappointed in the surf....a single shrimp with crab cake around it (3 on a plate). There was very little crabmeat and too much breading in the crab cake. Otherwise, I enjoyed it very much.
The notable thing about this restaurant is the service. Our waiter was Wilfredo and he was exceptional. Food was good, not too pricey, but the service was excellent.
The entree and dessert were very good, but the appetizer was horrid. Shrimp were tough as could be, and mussels were mostly closed.
Wonderful atmosphere for an early dinner. Service was above and beyond and the food was delicious. Thanks for a wonderful dinner in Boston!
We came for dine out Boston, and it surprised us that the restaurant was basically empty. We were seated immediately and got drinks to our table pretty quick. The food was surprisingly good. Everyone after the fact said that the quality surprised them. Nothing was stand out, but it was just a great all around meal. I’m not sure the value is there for a full priced meal, but it’s on the upper end of the scale of places I’ve tried during restaurant week.
A side note: you can valet parking there for cheaper than you can park in garages, but the valet basically drives it 20 yards and parks further along in the parking circle.. not much value there.
If it weren't for the construction right outside the window of the restaurant, it would have been a perfect lunch.
I usually eat at fairly nice restaurants, so this was type of place was not out of the norm. However, our waiter hardest ever checked on us, we weren’t offered bread, I had to ask the waiter about specials, and worst of all my entree was super salty. Unfortunate that I left the place feeling hungry after having a $30 entree. Ambiance was ok, but I would never return. Honestly, a pub would be better than this place was.
Great spot very intimate setting. Great service
Sub-par food & service. Def not worth the price tag. I wouldn’t recommend except you’ll prob always get a table and it’s super close to Faneuil Hall.
I had a great time at North 26. I met up with some friends before a show on Saturday night. It was quiet, which meant we weren't staring to hear each other while we spoke. They had a pretty good wine list and drink list as well. It was a nice touch that they had options from local breweries on the list. I had the seafood risotto, which was heavenly. If I'd been eating this at home, I would have sopped up the sauce with bread until the plate was clean! I'm not usually a dessert person but decided to splurge as this was my first night out post-baby. I had the molten chocolate cake, which was also divine. Service was great and prompt. I wish I could remember her name, but our waitress was lovely! I will definitely come back again. It's a great date night option for sure!
We had a super Thanksgiving dinner here a couple years ago however this trip was a service disaster. Our reservations were for 7:30 and we were promptly sat. There were multiple service failures forgetting items, cold/luke warm food, someone from the table twice had to get up to find a server to help us, & way to much time between courses but the straw that broke the camels back was when Said argues with us. We order pumpkin cheesecake but pumpkin pie was delivered Said argued that the pie was cheesecake and then walked away. When I asked another waitress she apologized profusely and said that it was pumpkin pie and would correct right away. I would also like to point out that we were one of the last tables and for some reason there until almost 10pm with two small children. This is just unacceptable when our reservation was at 7:30.
Came up from PA for Thanksgiving dinner was disappointed in the overall meal for the price paid. Crab cake was bland my wife ordered the salmon and appeared happy I ordered the ribeye and the potatoes and veggies came out cold didn't feel like waiting any longer. Pecan pie (recommended) was plain and boring. Spent a lot of money and I will not return when back in Boston. Wait staff was little to no help.
There was no clear wait staff. Rude. Asked multiple times for things. Awful treatment. Hated it. Never going back. And 18 percent gratuity automatically added to our tab.
Food was good...big portions. Service was good. Need to ditch the fake flowers!
We were in Boston for Thanksgiving and selected North 26 for our Thanksgiving dinner never having been there. The service at this restaurant was absolutely outstanding! First of all, it was probably close to 5 degrees outside (or less) and it was hard to keep anyplace warm enough that day! The staff noticed that my husband and I were a little chilled as we were putting on our coats at the table! Right away, the bartender asked us if we'd like to move to a warmer spot and several servers/managers swung into action and got us into a warmer booth. The meal was a prix fixe which all over town the restaurants were serving. So the price was very high, but we were able to get a military discount, so that helped. The meal was more than adequate, in fact, almost more food than we could eat and it was very good although lacking a bit in some seasonings. We found the restaurant itself was a bit smaller than we expected and sort of broken up into different areas, so it wasn't the atmosphere we were looking for. However, again, I cannot say enough about the staff. Anything we wanted or needed, they were happy to provide. And we had the best hot coffee with Kahlua to warm us up when we got there! Thank you to the staff for their lovely service!
We had an absolutely wonderful Thanksgiving dinner here. The staff went out of their way to make it a delightful experience for my three young daughters.
Unfortunately the entrees were not great, salad was great!
Great deal on a ribeye steak for $20! Our waitress was fantastic - didn’t hover but was always there when we wanted something. Perfect dinner experience.
We lucked out finding this restaurant as no other Seafood restaurants had availability on Open Table. What a great find, the cocktails were original and extremely tasty. The food was amazing, from the Lobster Bisque to the Seafood Pasta. Would definitely go there again if in Boston.
We went in with a group of 7 people and they were able to accomodate us, with a great table. Our server Rolando was attentive, without houvering. We ordered drinks, the Classy Manhattan was perfect. The chef had come out to say hi and provide some guidance for appetizers. We tried a few appetizers and enjoyed all of the them, the shrimp and scallop ceviche is a must try. Main courses were enjoyed by everyone at the table, my son coudn't get enough of his linguini with clams. Our group enjoyed dining at North 26, the entire staff was welcoming and we will definitely go back.
The food was great but took forever to get there.
There were four of us and we all enjoyed our meals so it’s fair to say that the food is pretty good. But that might also be because we were starving by the time it got there...
The place was practically empty when we arrived. Other tables arrived after us, ordered after us, had enough time to eat, pay and leave all before we got our meals.
Despite the delay, the staff was quite friendly to be fair.
Will have to give it another shot though...
Had a friend in town who wanted to meet near Govt. Center. This restaurant was very convenient and had a varied menu to meet all tastes. Food is fine, service was excellent. Good selection of beer and wine. Noise level reasonable, decor good, bread good and fresh, portions good. Our waiter was very good and patient with us as our party arrived at different times.
Saw their street sign for $25 lobster dinner. Made reservations the following night. Slow service on arrival and then when we ordered they said they were out of the lobster. Paid our overpriced drink bill and left. Very disappointed.
Labor Day weekend at 5:30 was tough to find a place for 5. This place had room. Food was good and service was attentive.
Took a long time to get the check and bathroom is located in the hotel away from the restaurant. Other than that the menu had plenty of options and the drink menu was fun! Food was yummy and can’t be upset when they serve free bread! Quiet but business casual feel.
Food was very good. Not crowded. Service was good.
North 26 stood out on reviews for places around Faneuil Hall. It did not disappoint. Service was attentive and professional. The lobster special plate was a great value. I will definitely return.
The service was very slow from start to finish. I had a reservation and the restaurant was quiet for a weekday breakfast at 830am. Very slow to be seated, receive menus, coffee and take our order. We had a one hour business breakfast and I tried to find someone to get the check. The host, manager and two waitstaff were nowhere to be seen for 30 more minutes! My two colleagues had to leave for 10am meetings and I waited to pay the check.
Excellent service, excellent food! Scallops were amazing, seafood risotto as well. Swordfish, salmon and linguini with clams all delicious.
Convenient to Faneuil )Hall, Upscale but can wear nice casual wear. Expensive but worth it.
