Service was fine but food was mediocre. Would not return.
We were early diners. One of us ordered the swordfish. After about 10 minutes the waiter came back and told us they were out of swordfish. It would have been nice for him to have mentioned that when ordering. The wine was extremely overpriced. When presented our check, they had charged us for a much more expensive bottle of wine. They did correct it in a timely manner.
I was incredibly disappointed with this restaurant. We ordered the steak and said that because of a dietary restriction, there couldn't be any butter on it. In the end, they brought us the wrong dish, and gave another table our dish. When we pointed out the mistake, they tried to bring us the dish that was ALREADY on the other diner's table, and they clearly picked at it. We asked for a new meal, but the manager came out and brought back out the dish that we already returned. This is entirely unacceptable and unsanitary, and made us and the other customers feel incredibly uncomfortable. We will not be coming back.
You had go to the desk to get a key to use the bathroom because it’s for hotel guests only. The food wasn’t very good. There was a bug in my fruit. The price was a lot for what you got. The service was horrible. The highlight was the kind man who brought the food out. Wouldn’t go back. Tip: if you have a restaurant you should have a corresponding bathroom close and easily accessible.
My boyfriend and I went to North 26 for his birthday and we had a wonderful experience.
We started off with the spicy shrimp skewers, which were cooked beautifully and perfect for sharing. They gave us four skewers total and each had 2 shrimp. I also took several bites of the salad that came with it and the mixture of sweet and spicy really hit the spot.
Next my boyfriend had the surf and turf medium rare, and his steak was cooked perfectly. The crab cakes stuffed with shrimp were very generous and I didn't even get to taste them, he loved it so much.
I ordered the halibut and it was a real treat. The serving was huge, and the fish was flaky yet moist. It had a nice crispy crust and the stuffed gnocchi is to die for. I can definitely recommend this.
My boyfriend ordered the tiramisu for dessert and I had a little taste but because I don't like the flavor of coffee, he finished the plate all by himself. It was creamy and if you like tiramisu, a very good choice.
Our waiter was super attentive, came by to fill our water glasses frequently but very subtly, and checked in with us from time to time.
It had been a while since I came here and I'm so happy I though of this place, since it really was a perfect birthday dinner.
Price is definitely correct, especially for seafood!
It was my birthday and they gave me surprised desert!
Hands down the best meal we had while staying in Boston!
Advertising the $20 lobster special would have brought in a larger crowd!

Great breakfast at North 26. Sat outside on a beautiful Boston morning. Our view of the Quincy Market/Fanueil Hall area was often blocked by traffic and unloading buses, but it is a bust tourist area. What can you expect? the service was outstanding, and the food was great.
We had the lobster special with a couple of beers. The lobster tails were a little bit chewy, the corn is crispy and delicious potatoes firm. Clam chowder good. Service staff attention to detail and friendly. Very comfortable place for lunch/dinner, we enjoyed our time at North26.
The service was spotty ... sometimes I find the "team approach" is. The breakfasts were ... fine. The room is nice. Works very well for a business breakfast.
Our waiter was lovely and attentive. Great view and very fresh seafood.
Didn't realize this was the restaurant attached to the Bostonian when we booked it for breakfast. I had steak and eggs, the steak was not good, seemed microwaved, pretty cold, they asked how I wanted it cooked, but that didn't matter. My GF got an egg skillet thing, and it was nothing like the picture, eggs were super watery
Cuisine is fine and it is nice to eat on the deck… that is until they start blasting super loud music from the speakers on top of your head. An older couple near us, visibly disturbed, asked us if that was what we wanted and we said certainly not. Asked politely to lower the volume twice (not turn it off) and the second time the server just told us it was brunch time and so they put music on and also “everyone else” (by which she meant 1 table of 2 ladies much further away from the speakers) wanted it. We couldn’t stay there so she shuttled us inside the restaurant, overseeing the parking. At least we were able to have a conversation there. It could have been a great Saturday brunch but it was an unpleasant experience.
For a restaurant in so nice a hotel, I found the ambiance confusing. It is dark and has nice modern decor, but the big screen TVs that were loud enough to hear from the corner tables were an interruption and made it feel like it wants to be a sports bar. There was no ambient music playing, just the TV. The service was quick, but the server did not bring our drinks at the same time. She brought my salad out first and my friend's soup with the meal, so I had to decide whether to let it sit or let her watch me eat. She forgot to bring a wine list until we asked for one. I would expect better at a 3 star hotel, where the service at the front desk, concierge, and valet were impeccable.
Great location., with a nice view of the Quincy Markeu south building. Although the restaurant wasn't busy, service was slow while staff hung around the bar and chatted. My caesar salad was tasty, but the crab cake appeared to be equal parts bread crumbs and crab with little taste and an odd gluey texture.
Had dinner there late Sunday evening. Not sure if it was the waiters first day, but when asked about two different dishes he described it as prepared in a very unique way. But that was it. For both dishes. A chicken and a steak.
He was not super attentive and we had to wave him down from outside several times.
The good was rather flavorless and certainly not unique. My husband had the tuna which was fatty and had no sauce or flavor at all.
We both left there quite disappointed.
Went for brunch with extended family. Ordered eggs Benedict, hollandaise sauce was bland, eggs undercooked, and English muffin very greasy. Nice waitress, a little slow getting drinks.
Wonderful food and atmosphere - we ate outside and could watch the activities of the shopping area. The waiter and manager were so kind!
The food was fantastic. We had the sea scallops and the steak and the food was delicious. The wait staff however was very disorganized and getting a refill of any type of beverage was quite the challenge.
I had an absolutely delicious meal. I started with fig and prosciutto salad, then had an absolutely incredible saffron pasta dish with clams, shrimp, and lobster meat in a lobster broth, followed by strawberry shortcake for dessert. The best meal I've had in a long time! I'll definitely go back. The service was amazing, too!
The place is cool, great location but somehow not very busy. Service was excellent, our waiter and the hostess were awesome! Appetizers were pretty good, the mussels were delicious after I added salt, it was under seasoned. The caprese salad was delicious. Our entrees were a bit disappointing though, the ricotta ravioli was salty, hard to eat, the salmon entree had too much tomato sauce and the potatoes got lost in the sauce it was in, personally, salmon doesn’t go well with that sauce, just ate the salmon... On the other hand, redemption with the dessert... it was delicious! I would go back just for drinks, appetizers and dessert... entrees were not my favorite.
The food was very good. I started with Figs wrapped in prosciutto on a bed of arugula (with excellent balsamic) - this appetizer was delicious. My husband had a tomato/mozzarella salad. For entree I had grilled halibut on a bed of vegetables. This was very tasty, but the fish was bit over cooked for me. My husband had the steak which he enjoyed immensely. All in all it was an enjoyable time and the service was excellent.
Nice location and ambiance. However, it took one hour from the time of order to first food coming to the table even though the restaurant was not full. Manager took responsibility and credited some items but the overall service during Mother's Day brunch was sub par.
We came for the Sunday brunch. The food was very good, but the service was slow.
The food was very good with large servings. The bar was lively but the dining area was quiet enough that you could have a decent conversation. Most tables have a view of the Quincy Market place across the street which made for great people watching. I am not in Boston often, but I would go back to North 26 again.
We had a very pleasant lunch. Salad bowls were very good. Service was pleasant and efficient.
Great location. Service was very good. Atmosphere is bit bland, but there is a good view from the seats near bar. Swordfish was a bit over cooked. Short ribs were better. Apps and desert were good.
Ordered 2 different salads which were great! Some confusion with who our server was, but we received attentive service regardless. Would try it again
My family went to North 26 today for Easter brunch. We received a warm and welcoming greeting from the hostess Paula. She was delightful! Our next interaction was with our server Martha who was friendly and very courteous. We have had many wonderful meals here before, but both of these ladies really made the entire experience very enjoyable. We ordered a variety of different entrees but highlights were the halibut, the filet mignon, and the lobster and shrimp omelets. The food was delicious and beautiful...our compliments to the kitchen staff here as well! We also enjoyed meeting Russell, the dining room manager. He came by to greet us and made us feel very welcome. Overall, this was another memorable meal at North 26! We will definitely be back!
Absolutely loved the food & service. We felt that the wine was overpriced.
My husband and I came here for a 30th anniversary dinner. The menu offerings were first class and the food tasted great, from cocktails to dessert. Thanks for the great evening.
Great staff and great food. Terrific street view makes it a truly Boston experience. Highly recommend!
I had the surf & turf. The filet was very tasty and cooked nicely to order. However, I was a little disappointed in the surf....a single shrimp with crab cake around it (3 on a plate). There was very little crabmeat and too much breading in the crab cake. Otherwise, I enjoyed it very much.
The notable thing about this restaurant is the service. Our waiter was Wilfredo and he was exceptional. Food was good, not too pricey, but the service was excellent.
The entree and dessert were very good, but the appetizer was horrid. Shrimp were tough as could be, and mussels were mostly closed.
Wonderful atmosphere for an early dinner. Service was above and beyond and the food was delicious. Thanks for a wonderful dinner in Boston!
We came for dine out Boston, and it surprised us that the restaurant was basically empty. We were seated immediately and got drinks to our table pretty quick. The food was surprisingly good. Everyone after the fact said that the quality surprised them. Nothing was stand out, but it was just a great all around meal. I’m not sure the value is there for a full priced meal, but it’s on the upper end of the scale of places I’ve tried during restaurant week.
A side note: you can valet parking there for cheaper than you can park in garages, but the valet basically drives it 20 yards and parks further along in the parking circle.. not much value there.
If it weren't for the construction right outside the window of the restaurant, it would have been a perfect lunch.
