Norman's at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I have been to Norman' s In LA, Miami, and Orlando before and thoroughly enjoyed those experiences. This was our second visit to Norman's Orlando. I was attending a conference in the area and as it was my wife's birthday I knew she'd like to return. The restaurant made a wonderful start to the evening for her by having her name at the top of her menu. We had the tasting menu - it was extraordinarily inventive and the combination of flavors and textures was truly sublime. She had the wine pairings and our server provided excellent run down for each course and wine selection. Could not have been better.
Celebratory dinner - 32nd wedding anniv; exceeded all expectations by leaps & bounds! Astounding service from the moment we arrived. Presented with special menu - our names congratulating us. Darren, our server, knowledgeable of menu & made excellent suggestions; attentive, but not overly so. His asst., very service oriented. Food was SUPERB - 1st course foie gras most unusual & tasty prep. Entrees: black Florida grouper and yellow tail snapper - most flavorful, perfectly cooked & beautifully presented we have ever had anywhere. KUDOS to Chef Norman for his superior blend of fascinating flavors & ingredients. And the same to Darren and the entire staff for an anniversary dinner we will always remember. Oh & the dining room is gorgeous!
You can never go wrong at Norman's. From the food to the service, everything is well positioned for a romantic evening. Cuban infused flavors are awesome and the fish is phenomenal, as is the steak. We came to celebrate our 9th anniversary and it was so special. The menu had our name, champagne was served to start and everyone made the evening, so special.
The service was first class. Our server Christian made the evening enjoyable and one to remember. My wife and I split an order of the oysters and tuna tartare for an appetizer. Had the organic chicken for our entree. The best we've ever had. The ambience is awesome. A definite must see.
The food was fantastic!! My husband ordered the ribeye, which was not listed on the menu. It melted in your mouth, best steak we have ever had. I had the Chicken Mofongo, very good but I wish I would have ordered the steak. Our server recommended a great bottle of wine, and was very attentive. Service was amazing, food was amazing, all around amazing restaurant. We will be going again! It is pretty expensive, but totally worth the money!!
I couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate our honeymoon dinner. They paid attention to my special request of having roses as a centerpiece for the table. They even had our names put on a copy of the menu for us to keep. The service was prompt, orderly, and friendly. The atmosphere was great and so was the food. We will definitely be back.
Our experience at Norman's was surperb!
I had the pork 'Havana', a Norman's mainstay, and must say it was the best pork I have eaten. My wife had the chicken 'mofango', which she enjoyed equally. The food was expertly prepared and presented.
The quiet, relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant was enhanced by the expert, attentive service from our waiter and the rest of the floor staff. These folks were friendly, and attentive without being obtrusive.
The bar at Norman's is separated from the restaurant. It was quiet when we walked past. The drinks we ordered were as well prepared as the food. My sazerac was excellent.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this establishment! Food, ambience and service - all 5 star. There is a reason this is an award winning restaurant. Go all out and get the sturgeon caviar, don't skip the cheese cart, steak tartare as good as Paris, pork havana divine, snapper melts in your mouth, tomato salad so fresh, wanted to lick the bowl after the conch chowder!!! Ask for Frank! You are guaranteed a wonderful evening. Made my birthday so special and I have eaten at many fine dining restaurants that don't even come close to this one. In my top three after Victoria and Alberts, and Bull and Bear. Not to be missed! Save up and go all out!!!
Frank our waiter was an excellent guide, describing each menu item of interest, explaining "Norman's" background,
selection of spices as interesting but not over the top, and quality of cruisine as the best. My wife and I were not disappointed.
We shall return. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of the cuisine.
My wife and I got married the weekend before we had dinner at Norman's. The reservation I made on open table noted that the reservation was to celebrate our honeymoon and that I wanted lilies and roses to be on the table since they were her favorite flowers. They paid attention to the detail and when we arrived at our table, there they were. The hostess also handed us a signed copy of the menu which commemorated the dinner and the fact that it was our honeymoon. The service was great and made us feel very welcomed. They were also very accommodating with our certain requests. The dinner overall was fantastic, definitely a place to try for great food. The great choices on the menu made it difficult to choose. Try this place if you haven't!
We were staying at the Gaylord Palms for a conference and went here the first night with a group of eight. We enjoyed it so much we went back the next night with just my husband and myself. The food was all good. The blackened grouper was great and the table side ceviche was wonderful. They have a cheese cart that they can roll to your table and explain the different types. We had that both nights. The service was wonderful; very attentive. Would go back here again if in the area!!
My boyfriend surprised me with dinner at Norman's for my birthday…..it was amazing. Norman's had printed special menus for us, wishing me happy birthday as well as a take home keepsake menu, signed by Norman. The food and service is always amazing here….this is why we keep coming back for our special occasions because the staff really makes you feel pampered and special.
Frank was our server and made our dining experience wonderful. We are really into food and we appreciated the detail he spent telling us about each item we ordered.
We went there knowing that the food was going to be amazing, no matter what we ordered and we were right! Gregory was the best waiter and helped us choose the best things on the menu for us, paced the food perfectly, made perfect wine recommendations and even was able to get the chef to make a special dish. Recommendation: conch chowder!
It cannot be assumed that two consecutive nights at the same restaurant will be outstanding both times and yet this was our experience here. Great food, great service, delightful hospitality, beautiful view - a winner! Particularly enjoyed the grouper, the shrimp seviche, the tomato salad, Asher blue cheese from GA. Norman's is flexible enough that it will adapt to individual tastes. A very enjoyable evening.
We went to Norman's to celebrate a 10th anniversary and were presented with menus personalized for our occasion and a memento menu for us to take home. Paul expertly guided us through the evening, from excellent wine pairings for each course to actually suggesting we eliminate a tapas order so we would not be too full to enjoy the main plates. The dishes were beautiful in both presentaion and taste. The cracked conch chowder was rich and flavorful, easily the best soup/chowder we have eaten. The 'Down Island French Toast' (foie gras on brioche points) was very delicate and buttery. Our main plates of Pork Havana and Spice Crusted Filet were perfectly prepared and paired with amazing sauces and sides. Start to finish, an amazing experience.
Every dish was a flavor explosion in the mouth! Fantastic: from great service, without feeling rushed, to the food arriving with perfect timing, and for every dish we ordered was unique in flavor without being over the top in weirdness, this restaurant is a must for a romantic occasion! The best snapper I have ever had, fantastic ceviche made table side, not to miss!
As always, the customer service at the Ritz is amazing. My dinner was fantastic, and I highly recommend the pork (medium rare). The wine list is very good and rather than selecting, have them pair food and wine for you to enhance the experience.
Yusif was outstanding. He set the stage and took phenomenal care of me. Sonny was who he had take care of my wine and Paul did an excellent job with the food recommendations. I'll be back soon to work with this wonderful trio.
Was celebrating a big anniversary and thought it was time to visit. I received an email inviting us to celebrate our anniversary and receive some perks. Spoke to the receptionist, she took our info including our anniversary request as well as our seafood allergy.
We arrived and were seated promptly, server came over right away. He has his speech down pat but had no idea we are both allergic to seafood. He went on and on about the seafood until we finally stopped him. The food was exceptional but the service was not wonderful. I had to ask a few times to have my water refilled which is a pet peeve. No champagne and only at the end did they bring out a pastry with "Happy Anniversary". Food A Ambiance C (too loud) Service C
Went with my wife to celebrate a significant birthday.
We both selected the Taster Menu and I also chose the wine pairing.
I won't go into detail except to say from entering Norman's to leaving the attitude, approach and food was exemplary.
Last week's taster Menu maybe wasn't as adventurous or challenging as before (we only go annually when visiting our house in Kissimmee).
But it was up to the usual high standards.
David, the server couldn't have been more attentive but not over-bearing and, when I detected the Port was corked (it was), he had no hesitation opening another bottle, for my one glass, which was excellent (the first WAS corked).
Like Schwarzenegger, we'll be back.
