Great place, with fantastic service and food. The server Lazar and bartender Brandon were excellent in service.
Top 5 of all time
Without a doubt, one of the great restaurants in Florida for us over the last 15 years. Located at the Ritz Carlton Orlando, it is the direct descendant of the original Norman's in Coral Gables, FL. While there are other NormanVanAiken restaurants, the menu here most closely duplicates the "Floribean" cuisine pioneered at his original restaurant. Consistently great food, professional service, and knowledgeable staff in an elegant setting. The assistant GM, Juan Valencia, was fantastic. The only criticism is the wine list, which is generally pricier than comparable restaurants when compared to retail prices of wines served.
This is one of the best restaurants I have visited so far. The food is awesome and the service is incredible.
Excellent food and service. The conch chowder is the best as were the fish entrees.
Awesome! We were treated like royalty! Will definitely return!
Overall the experience was good. It was our first official date and was hoping to impress my girlfriend. I called in advance to make sure they had gluten free options which they did. They asked if it was a special occasion and I informed them that it was, they asked if they could put something on the menu and the dessert plate so I told them something to write. When the day came, they didn’t put anything on the menu, they also said they’d give her a rose which they didn’t, they did write something on her dessert plate but I would’ve liked a bit more, maybe offered a picture as a remembrance for the special occasion. The food was good although very limited, typical of what you’d expect at this kind of restaurant.
Very pricey, but amazing food and service! Great for birthdays and anniversaries!
We dined at Norman`s yesterday, what an amazing experience we had.
Service was fantastic and the food was delicious.
Thank you all for what you did for us. My fiancee was extremely surprised about our romantic dinner.
We celebrated our 1st anniversary at Normans! It was so romantic and the staff went out of their way to help us celebrate! The food was nothing short of amazing! The prices were great considering its an upscale restaurant! It was a remarkable dining experience!
Amazing food and fantastic service
Food was amazing will definitely return.
Wonderful as usual. Excellent service from David as always. Was also unusually quiet for a Friday evening.
Some reviewers mentioned that the service was slow! so,I was worried about that because I had a special occasion!
After I went there, I surprised everything was amazing and the service was great and faster than normal!
I highly recommend it!
Phenomenal experience. Food was perfect and service was on point!
Food was wonderful. Service was good even though we were turned away for someone wearing shorts in our dinner party. It seems rather silly since it is summer, the restaurant is part of a resort complex and the overall restaurant experience is not that chic. For example, our sommelier was dressed rather slabbily (cheap suit); but, at least he was dressed in a (cheap) suit????
We have previously dined several times at this restaurant. We went for my husbands birthday. The bartender was great, Brandon was helpful and knowledgeable on Bourbon and Whiskey. We decided to go with the tasting menu and wine pairing, which we have done previously here and in other restaurants. Firstly, I am allergic to shellfish so requested a substitute, I wasn't offered a choice, they brought me green fried tomato instead of the Scallop. I do not like green tomatoes. I hate a little of this. The pork chop was so salty that I could not eat it, apparently several diners had complained to the chef. So I left this course. This was paired with a thick peanut sauce that did not go with the pork either. Not a good match at all. We eat Foie Gras for appetizer and main normally, however, we were a little confused when we were advised the dessert has Foie Gras in it. We assumed she had made a mistake. No, we were served a hollow chocolate dome with Foie Gras inside. Very Very odd combination, it has a very distinct flavor and does not go well with dessert in my opinion, another course I did not eat. As for the wine paring, very poor, mediocre wines at the best. Dessert wine was not a dessert wine but a sparkling sweet wine. Awful. We advised our waiter who put a drink behind the bar for us. I will not go back, very disappointed as we like Normans as a rule. The staff uniform seemed scruffy and not for a 5* restaurant. We were never offered, cheese and biscuits, coffee or an after dinner drink. I understand this would have been an additional cost which I wouldn't have minded but it was not even offered. At this point I was just ready to leave
Food was spectacular and the wait service knew everything about every item on the menu. And they brought us a special gift for our anniversary
Cody was amazing.
We opted for the "chef's tasting menu" which we would highly recommend. It allowed us to try a variety of dishes which we would not have otherwise chosen on our own. For example - we don't like duck meat; but, the winning, most delicious dish of the evening for us was a BBQ'd duck breast with mole sauce and pickled peach. Who would have thought?!
Although we had a surprising 'stand-out' dish, the rest of the menu was also delicious and beautifully presented. Perhaps the only disappointment was the smoked cashew crusted scallop, which unfortunately, was a bit too salty. (we mentioned it to the server who took away our dishes, but nothing really came of it). So that was the one tarnished spot of the experience.
Out of our past, 'worldwide' fine dining experiences to-date, this one comes in at 2nd place. Definitely very good, and would highly recommend!
Fantastic every time! Cannot stay in Orlando without going to Norman’s. Compliments to the Chefs and staff!
Excellent facility, service and food!
Absolutely fabulous meal!!
Service was slow and the place was louder than expected. The food was excellent!
Was best dining experience I have had in long time.
Very good but not great. We eat here 4 or 5 time a year. Food was amazing as usual but service was not spot on. Maybe a newer waitress but not as knowledgeable or attentive. A little disappointing really. Still worth the try.
Best in Town !
We have spent a magnificent and wonderful moment.
Great pleasure and great meal.
The yellowtail snapper was phenomenal! Service was top notch and definitely made for a lovely evening.
Fernando suggested wines that paired well.
Norman's and the team consistently deliver exceptional service and food. We highly recommend Norman's and will continue to go there for special occasions, business dinners, and everyday dining when we're staying in Orlando.
The service and food are exceptional! We will be back. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Awesome experience - service, ambiance, food & drinks!!!
Great evening out with my wife on her birthday. Food and service was exceptional.
Absolutely wonderful! I can’t wait to return. Food and service were outstanding! One of our best experiences
Celebrated my 40th birthday with my boyfriend and friends. We truly had a great time!
We did the Spring tasting menu with the wine pairing. Everything was fantastic. Our server Julia was nothing short of amazing. The dishes were unique and tasty. The pairing was pretty spot on. The chocolate pinata for dessert was delicious. Overall our experience was definitely one to remember. If I find myself back in Orlando, we would definitely come back
My wife wanted to come here for her 70th birthday and our 49th wedding anniversary, combined. The martini, the wine & food and the friendly and competent service pleased her immensely. She has raved about the event to her friends ,,,, and even to her husband (me).
