We could not have had a more fantastic meal in celebration of my brother’s birthday! The food was outstanding, and the waiters friendly and helpful. I would definitely return for dinner as well as for breakfast. On our way out, we saw a live four-piece band in the bar area that sounded terrific. It’s rare to find live music anymore at a restaurant, especially one that plays standards. This place is truly a find.
The service and menu have been hit and miss for years but our dinner this past Tuesday was excellent as was the service
A wonderful Sunday brunch. It was crowded but warm and friendly. Conversation sound level was okay. Food and service were excellent, the former delicious and the latter was careful and attentive.
After hearing for many years how great the brunch was a Normandie Farm, we finally made a reservation. We had to wait 4 weeks, so we thought that the quality was still very good.
We were very disappointed. Service was inattentive. At the beginning, we didn't even know who our server was. We constantly had to ask for things. Most of the food items were very mediocre. The items that were good were all packaged items, like cheese, fresh fruit and pastries. I'm positive that the pastries were made elsewhere.
Asking $36 for this brunch was a extremely high. We will never go again and will tell people to look elsewhere.
Good service & food was great.
Definitely going back soon
It was a really nice meal!
Our second time back in as many weeks. Dinner was great the first time, but brunch was even better with many choices of good quality items for a relatively modest price.
Good food, good service. However, the Bloody Mary was disappointingly mediocre.
We went to Normandie Farm for Easter brunch. This was our first time. The veal Marsala was excellent and the popovers outstanding! The staff was friendly. It was a good experience overall.
Superb Easter Brunch! Had everything from oysters, caviar to ham and broccoli. Even with the extra influx of patrons, the staff seated and served us in a friendly and professional manner.
The atmosphere is lovely, the Sunday buffet is diverse and delicious, and the waitstaff is friendly, if sometimes you have to remind them to bring the famous popovers and it's easier to grab a cloth napkin from another table when yours mysteriously disappears than to flag down a waiter to find you another. They clean plates very efficiently so you don't bring a new plate back to the old one. I would avoid the final brunch seating (1:30) unless you want to have the waitstaff moving tables around you as they prepare for the next service. This is where you'd want to go with a group of people that has very different food preferences; even vegans would manage quite well with the salads and breads.
Haven't been here in about 20 years. It was wonderful - the way I remembered it. Great service, good food, nice ambience. A pleasant evening.
Best Sunday brunch in Potomac . Great food, multiple choices, friendly staff, ample parking
I could almost taste the corn starch as a thickening agent in the Lobster Bisque. It was discusting and thermally warm at best. My husband expressed equal discontent for the Maryland Crab soup.
Next, I had the Blacken Monk Fish, pretty sure it had to be spiced heavily and blackened because it was oderous. I was so disappointed and anticipating the succulant monk fish served in French Caribbean known as ‘poor man’s lobster’. My husband ordered the Salmon Stuffed with Crab and again with this course he was unimpressed and said it was average at best.
Dining area was elegant and welcoming with a fireplace and a roaring fire, which was appreciated on a cold night. Had 4 entrees , rockfish, sea scallops, Vegetarian plate and roast duck. All prepared well and were delicious. Great Creme Brulee' for dessert.
Amazing food, lovely atmosphere and great service. Definitely coming back
I’ve always wanted to try this restaurant because I often drive by it. We were incredibly disappointed; there was nothing good about the food or drinks but in spite of it all, we had a lovely dinner with a good friend that lives close by.
Very good. Place is getting quite dated but staff and food were amazing. Seated right by the fireplace which made the trip extremely enjoyable.
Tremendous lunch menu. Friendly staff. Good food. They don't rush you out, we enjoyed every minute.
My friend didn’t eat her meal she said it was terrible. The food did not make my “oh I want to go back” list.
Had a lovely brunch!! Suitable for all ages - kids to grammas! Thank you!!
First time there. Well worth the adventure!!! Great food! Superb selection of dishes at the Sunday Brunch! A bargain for the selection, quality & caliber of food. Great service. A definite place to visit again. Everything was simply divine!
Very accommodating for our large party. Will definitely be back!
I always love the popovers. The Sunday Brunch features omelets as well as cold salads, a variety of breads, great hot food with egg, meat and vegetables, and very tasty desserts. Trifle pudding and chocolate mousse are two of the notables. Went there with friends to celebrate sale of our house.
It was my mother's 80th birthday. The food was fabulous and the restaurant staff were all so wonderful. My mother was so excited about it because as a little girl she used to come over and visit when her grandmother cooked in the kitchen.
Wonderful service and atmosphere
Cozy and romantic fireplace
The Sunday brunch buffet at Normandie Farm is amazing. I have certain dietary restrictions which made only about 75% of the choices available to me, and even with that I had a great deal of difficulty deciding what to take. I can only imagine how challenging it must be for those who can eat it all. Everything I had was delicious, and the signature popovers are always a treat. I did give the service only a "4" because our waiter was not as attentive as I would have liked. We said we would hold off on having our coffee until we had visited the buffet and it was difficult to get his attention when we were ready for it.
Excellent brunch. One if the best if not the best in the area. We had a very nice meal. The restaurant could use a refresh though as the place just looks tired and in need of paint and new furnishings. It detracts from the overall experience.
Food and service was quite good. However, the restaurant is beginning to look its age. Recommend redecorate the décor.
Disappointed the choice of sides was not more varied.
Sweet potato mash doesn't seem to mix well.with Salmon
The buffet was nice, but the draw here is (theoretically) popovers. We each got only one, overcooked to the point of crumbling when we tried to butter the dry dough. We're not big enough eaters to make buffets a good value, so without tasty popovers, this wasn't our cup of tea.
Service was excellent for Brunch. Omelet was prepared extremely well. I wish they could improve their Veal Marsala and Beef Stroganoff. They needed a plain salad bar not just loose vegetables. Slightly noisy but tolerable. Waffles were soggy not crisp, should be made to order not pre-made. Blueberry pancakes were very good.
Quiet elegant ambiance. Amazing popovers
Food average to blah - seemed commercial.
Drinks and appetizers at best.
Very pretty place but good unexceptional.
The chairs were very uncomfortable which dampened the whole outing
Food could be improved. Somewhat pricey. Fair value only.
Nice venue for the group, many food choices in a cozy atmosphere on a very cold Sunday.
As always excellent food, service and ambience they have been doing it year end and year out.
We were there for brunch. We have been coming to Normandy Farm for quite a while now and it seems it’s always the same menu. Some of the items are good, but like any other establishment, you need to revamp your menu. Also, the water glasses on our table were filthy and had to be replaced as well as the coffee creamer container. We like Normandy Farm and that’s why I’m taking the time to write this review.
Place is past its prime. food OK but not fabulous. a bit run down. stodgy. old school. had gone decades ago and had same impression but tried it again for restaurant week. didn't finish much of my main course because not particularly appealing. even 2 of 3 popovers we had were overcooked (generally the best part of the meal) The special heirloom tomato and beet salad was excellent. steak with peppers was poor cut of meat. lobster bisque uninspired. will wait a few more decades to return. Too bad - great location
Excellent food. Pleasant ambience. Sound level good
