Nordstrom Grill - Downtown Seattle Ratings and Reviews
I was extremely disappointed in the service. I had to keep flagging down the waitress for utensils (there was nothing on the table when we sat down) for a man brought out bread and butter and left. Didn't ask us if we needed anything, just walked away. During our meal I ask for a white chocolate bread pudding cake to go and they forgot the white chocolate in the box (I noticed it when we were back at the hotel). The food was okay the Salmon and Halibut was cooked very well however the vegetables with the salmon were somewhat burnt. It was my daughters birthday and she ask for Nordstrom's. Every Friday my two daughters and I go to the Lynnwood Nordstrom's for a girls night out. It appears the service has lost its touch. I hope they realize it for I purposely did not leave any gratuities!
We had reservations and were seated right away. Our server came by for drink orders but we weren't ready yet. It took a long time for her to come back. She was not rude but wasn't friendly either. She took our orders and before I could add to my order she walked away. She brought bread to the table and pretty much just threw it on the table and again walked away. She didn't say anything. One of the plates was dirty. We ordered soup and salad starters which didn't come until the rest of the food came. That server was really nice and friendly. Three of the four meals came at the same time. The last meal took another 5 min to arrive. The grilled salmon was ok. Whatever it was served with was way too salty. The other meals were just ok as well ( grilled halibut, cheeseburger, halibut & chips). Nothing to brag about. Server never offered refills on drinks although she did ask how the food was. We ordered desert, creme brule and cookies & ice cream. Cookies arrived nice and warm. Creme brule was a bit over done. Not sure if I'd recommend this place or not. Most of the issues were with the server, not the food. The prices were decent.
Mediocre. They forgot or misplaced my order with only a few tables occupied. So it took far longer than it should. They never apologized or really addressed it, until they were delivering food to the table beside me - someone who came in and ordered long after I did. They food once it came was bland with cold vegetables. They never offered any type of compensation for the mistake. Not the best Nordstrom.
The downtown Nordstrom Grill is a hidden gem. Prices for standard entrees are about 30% less then most downtown restaurants. The food is very fresh and plentiful. Menu items include a classic Cobb salad (excellent), burgers, various chicken dishes, sandwiches and soups. It would have been nice to include a pasta dish. The wine selection is small, but adequate. My husband likes free refills on his root beer. Cocktails are also available. Seating provided at booths, tables and the counter in the bar. I recommend getting a reservation, especially when holiday shopping kicks in.
Need more marketing knowledge on menu items. Calamari was tough. Aioli sauce is the usual. Not chili dip. Waitress insisted I had thousand island dressing on my crab louis when I asked for some extra to compensate for no dressing. Tap water was terrible bought in a glass milk bottle container. Even after I asked for a lemon to help cover the fluoride taste. Will never come back. Will never come to shop here either. After being a customer for 50 years.
I tend to go the Grill 80% of the time I am in SEA. I LOVE the crab bisque! This particular visit wasn't as enjoyable as usual due to the 4 LOUD women to my left and the business meeting of 2 men to my right. A little bit TOO NOISY. The grilled halibut with spring pea and asparagus risotto was delicious! The soup special, French lentil soup was tasty except for the grade of sausage used. The featured Key Lime pie looked way better than it tasted.
The waitress was rushing us big time. Up to coming out to our table with the goal to remove plates and counting how many bites are left. My business lunch was interrupted by her many times, and she wasn't accomodating to our need to be able to talk but she made us to stop and listen to her talking. Not very professional.
Great place to give your shopped out feet a rest and enjoy a meal. The menu has something for everyone. The peppered steak salad (offered on the daily sheet) offers a generous portion of steak served over endive. Roasted potatoes, tomato and blue cheese fill out the plate. Little know fact: the Grill also has one of the best burgers in town.
