Nora's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We found Nira’s Online and drove about 45 minutes from CT to MA on scold wintry night. Found Nora’s and the place was packed, but our reserved table was ready immediately. Get the eggplant appetizer. I’m not a big eggplant person, but I could have made a meal of their eggplant tower. If you go to Nora’s, get it. You won’t be disappointed. Everyone loved their entrees too. We’ll be back. Oh, live music too. And not too loud.
Food was excellent. Portions were generous and nicely prepared. They had a couple of large parties they were hosting so service was slow. I heard several of the wait staff mention they were slammed during the course of our evening.
This is our favorite restaurant in the Farmington Valley/Greater Springfield area. The only drawback is the limited parking, but once inside it is a cozy atmosphere, perfect for a romantic date or a get together with friends. Our favorite appetizer is the eggplant tower which is heavenly, but we tried crispy brussel sprouts last night which I loved just as much. Every dish is wonderfully prepared, but their haddock Florentine stands out -- melts in your mouth. The staff is friendly and the drinks are reasonably priced. Also a nice bar if you're looking to hang out and enjoy drinks and apps. They do have some limited al fresco dining, plus a small upstairs dining room perfect for a small conference. If there is a better restaurant in Western Mass I have yet to find it.
Very disappointing. Heard several good things do decided to try it. Had to park about 400 yards away. Took over 30 mins to get a drink. Martini was sub standard. Mai tai could have been anything. Tried to order one of their special meals and they were out. And it was only 7 PM. Ordered a calamari appetizer that never arrived. Wife had salmon with soy bourbon glaze. Salmon was very good but they forgot to put the glaze on it. We wont go back.
Very good service despite some large parties and reviews suggesting otherwise. The apps, particularly the perogies were exceptional. Unfortunately, the entrees were mostly misses. There was a dearth of seasoning on most dishes, the swordfish was a tad overdone and the chicken (a "popular" dish) was felled by too much time in the fryer. I would go back for the apps.
Once again food just great! Really delicious! Fast friendly service. My only complaint is when you make a dinner reservation you don't expect to be seated in the bar with the live music. If you don't have room to add a reservation then don't. If we were there for the bar it would have been great but for dinner conversation we couldn't hear one another.
Terrible experience, service was horrible - a table of five was served before my table of two and we arrived 20-minute earlier. No attention to detail. Drink orders were forgotten about. We had to ask to hear the specials, we had to ask for bread, we had to verbally cancel a drink order that never arrived anyway. Loud music started playing shortly after our arrival so you couldn't have a conversation. We've been to Nora's before and enjoyed it but this last visit is our final visit. There are plenty of there places to bring our business. Save your patience and your money, skip Nora's.
Fried Brussels were amazing, and the spinach salad with goat cheese was incredible as well. Less incredible was it took over an hour to get the apps, and another hour to get entrées. As good as the apps were we were patiently anticipating an outstanding dinner. Sadly, not so much. The scallops were good, but slightly overcooked, the chicken Nora, which had the makings to be outstanding was beautiful breaded and fried, but the chicken was complete rubber, virtually impossible to chew. It seems that they have a good chef creating some nice dishes, but some really poor execution. We will go back, but for apps and drinks and the view of the lake, skipping dinner...
This was a nostalgic visit for my mother's birthday - she used to come here 60 years ago when Nora would be making steaks in the kitchen. Other than the location, not much is the same - the food is certainly high end dining (so are the prices!), and the dining room is cozy and warm. We enjoyed the pierogies as an appetizer (excellent), the beet and arugala salad, rack of lamb, sesame sea scallops - all delicious. Though it was a bit pricey, we enjoyed every part of the meal and would likely go back. One suggestion would be for a prix fix menu that allows smaller portions of each course at a reasonable price.
This was our second visit to Nora's. Trent was our waiter. He had a great knowledge of the offerings, and was especially helpful with finding items that my wife could enjoy, as she has a severe allergy to egg yolk. The service was awesome, the food was prepared well, and overall, it was a great night. We shall return again, and highly
Recommend Nora's to everyone
Nora's is s long time favorite. Went for Valentines Day. Live music in the bar... not really great for intimate dining. Asked to be moved and was offered a nice seat in the rear dining area. The waitress was friendly as usual, but there was a disconnect between her and the kitchen as well as the timing of the kitchen being way off. Every course took a very long time to come out for some of us, while others around us were getting salads and their entrees at the same time. Unusual for Nora's and won't stop me from returning... I'll give them another chance because the food is awesome!! Other note, they need to address the parking issue ASAP. It's getting darn dangerous walking up and down the dark hill to park in their neighbors parking lots. Get valet, Nora's!!!
Wonderful evening with great food and beverages. We got there early for a nice quite
evening. That was short lived when the table next to us arrived. Husband, wife and two
Teen children. The family was fine except the husband. He was so loud and obnoxious
we could not take it anymore we decided on no desert.
