FOOD IS ALWAYS FRESH AND TASTY. AUTHENTIC. GOOD SERVICE. TIGHT QUARTERS, BUT WORTH IT! A+
I had a date with my kids. Cam was our waitress and she was excellent! Great atmosphere and the food was everything.
Nora Kabob was an amazing discovery, and I'm kicking myself for not knowing about it until now. Everything we had tasted amazing, and most importantly, everything had its own unique flavors so that each new item was a new discovery. The saffron grilled octopus was outstanding, and I'm not sure how they managed it but the arm was tender and juicy while the suckers were crispy and crunchy. Yum! Lentil soup sounds simple and boring but it exploded with flavor, as did the tzatziki, arguably one of the things that most every restaurant ruins. All the meats -- lamb chops, chicken, beef, lamb chunks, kibbeh -- were all perfectly marinated, seasoned, and grilled to juicy deliciousness. The falafel were large balls that were freshly fried with just a light crunch on the outside but tender and moist all the way through. Wrapped in a warm pita with spicy hummus and salad and it was impossible to put down. My only regret is that I didn't get to try any of the wines (there are many interesting sounding wines and quite a good selection of craft beers in bottles). My other regret is that I can't eat there daily.
This restaurant never fails to dish out fabulous and generous portions of food. It is a small venue, so you should make a reservation prior to leaving home, or even earlier in the week. Their staff are always friendly and paying attention to your dining needs. We have recommended this establishment to many friends and co-workers, and they all thank us for pointing this place out. Nora Kabob is our go-to place for great food and drink.
As always, the service is OUTSTANDING and the food is delicious. The only issue is that the place is VERY small and if you don't get there early or have a reservation you will have to wait. In addition, there is no good place to wait. They need to move to a larger location.
Very good consistent food and service. Price point is mid market, not expensive nor cheap. Interior is small. We will be returning on a regular basis.
I usually don't pay attention to Yelp Reviews, but I took a chance on this #1 Yelp recommendation, and boy, was I ever so happy I did. Tucked away in one of those anonymous strip malls on Rt. 40 West, with maybe 30 seats at best, this was a stupendous find. From the tasty spicy Patron Marguerita (just a nice little kick to it) to the Chocolate Lover dessert, it was fabulous. We especially liked the smoked eggplant dip, the hummus, and the swordfish and lamb kabobs. And the prices are so reasonable. You won't go wrong trying this little place. We'll be back again, for sure.
As usual the food served is very good and the service is excellent. However the availability of wines, that are listed for ordering, is a recurring problem.
Our red wine selection was not available. Then our replacement choice, at the same price, is also not available but they do have a bottle of something more expensive.
This is not the first time it happened. Frankly if a wine is not available either take it off the menu or tell the customer what is available.
Otherwise, as I said, the meal and service was excellent.
Nora’s Kabob is consistently excellent! It has become our “go-to” place and they have never let us down. The food is perfectly prepared, the staff are friendly and accommodating, and the place is clean!
Friendly service and very tasty food. We will be going back regularly!
Nora's has two locations, one in Ellicott City and one in Eldersburg. Have always gone to the Eldersburg location since it is closer to where we live. Recently made reservations through Open Table for a party of 8 for 6:30 on a Saturday evening. Upon arrival discovered that they were totally unaware of our reservation. We helped arrange the tables. Once seated we then discovered there were only two servers for the entire place and one of the servers was really the hostess with very little serving experience. That said, these two young ladies worked their tails off for us and gave us 110 percent, but still.... Orders were mixed up, the lamb kabobs were seriously overcooked, requests for drink refills lagged, even though the place really wasn't that busy. And this has been our experience at this location since they opened. They struggle with adequate staffing, both in the front and kitchen, particularly on weekends. We have found that going during the week and avoiding Friday and Saturday nights gets you a much better dining experience. And when they're on their game, the food is delicious, the portions are generous and they have an adventurous beer selection.
The prices were very reasonable but the food was disappointing. I had a lamb and beef kabob combo and my wife did a lamb kabob. The meat was very tough. Plus they don't give you steak knives so it is hard to cut the tough pieces with just a butter knife. On the good side the meat was flavorful, the salad was good and so were the drinks. They need to marinate the meat longer or use better quality cuts.
One of our favorite places to grab dinner!
The food is really great at this Middle Eastern cuisine kabob place. The dining room was nothing special. The take-out counter (the restaurant seems to get a lot of take-out orders) was at the back behind the seating. Parking at this strip mall early on Thursday evening was at a premium. Considering the reasonable price, good service, and good food, we will come again.
It is a cozy place; a few tables to sit at and the food is good and inexpensive,
We spent a couple of years in Iran, and Nora’s Kabobs are the closest to those we had there. The only thing I would ask is that the kabobs come with roasted tomatoes and onions instead of the salad.
We visit Nora's every few weeks, and we are never disappointed. The food is always cooked just right and it is always yummy! It is our new favorite place to eat.
Very disappointed this the third time there. Several things were not available and otherwise the lamb kabob meat was tough.
Nora's is by far the best kabob place in Howard County and probably in all of Central MD. No other "mediterranean" restaurant even comes close in terms of food quality, taste, menu choices, authenticity, price and service. In addition to being the best kabob place, it is also on our list of the top 5 overall restaurants in the entire area.
Good food and service. Appetizers are delicious.
EXCELLENT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE, PRICES COMPARABLE! MY ONLY ISSUE IS THE SMALL SPACE BETWEEN TABLES - YOU ARE "STUCK" IN YOUR CHAIR - SPACES TOO TIGHT TOGETHER. NOT SURE HOW THEY COULD EXPAND, BUT IT WOULD BE NICE NOT TO HAVE SOMEONES ELBOW IN YOUR BACK, DEPENDING ON THE SEAT. I LIKE BOOTHS - BUT ALWAYS GET A SMALL TABLE FOR TWO - AND I MEAN SMALL. NO PLACE TO PUT YOUR PURSE, SUNGLASSES, ETC. HOWEVER THE FOOD IS GREAT AND IT IS A SMALL INCONVENIENCE -- IT JUST COULD BE BETTER IF THEY GAVE YOU MORE SPACE! STILL GIVE THEM A 4.8 STAR!
We have enjoyed dining at Nora Kabob for quite a few years now. The Persian/Armenian-style dishes served in this small, intimate space are invariably delicious; and the service is friendly, as well. Our favorite picks are the kabob combo plates. The salmon, swordfish, and koobideh platters, served with half Basmati rice and half salad, are particularly good, and very colorful. And the mirza (smoked, pureed eggplant), served with toothsome house-made pita triangles, is an appetizer "must." Try a glass of the excellent pomegranate wine, or one of many Armenian and domestic beers. And don't forget the baklava when it's time for dessert. All in all, great food at a nice price. (If this restaurant were in DC, you could easily double the cost of your meal!)
First time there, with friends who knew the place well. Food was excellent, the steak kabobs in particular. The place is tiny, so I'd recommend reservations (we had a party of 6, and they had our table reserved for us with no waiting). Definitely will return.
Good Mediterranean place with good food and service. Reservations don’t mean much because the place is small and very busy, but the staff does what they can to accommodate you. Gyros were excellent. Not quite as good as in Greece but washed down with a Mythos beer, it was almost like being there.
Nora’s is our go to restaurant for the best service & kabobs at an incredible value.
Double date with our son and his girlfriend. Wanted them to get the Nora Kabob experience. Swordfish, koobideh, beef, and chicken kabobs all around. Matched with the half Greek salad and basmati rice you can’t go wrong. Everyone was talking about how good the food was in the way home. Small seating area so make a reservation.
An interesting menu, and good specials. The servers are helpful and friendly. And a terrific value.
Love it there!
Excellent food at an excellent price. Though small size means that reservations are recommended or else you might have to wait! Though the wait is worth it!
Best gyros in the area. My only suggestion is to replace zucchini with juicy tomatoes on kabobs. I know that juicy tomatoes are difficult to stay on skewers, but the juice on the rice is delicious.
We like Nora Kabob very much. The Armenian beer ARARAT is very good - too bad that it cannot be bought in wine stores. I have two suggestion: On the Kabobs, replace the zucchini with juicy tomatoes so that the juice from the grilled tomatoes soaks into the rice - yummy. A few of the chunks of lamb on our kabobs were tough and had gristles, but otherwise very tasty.
Love this place. Always consistent and the service is great. Staff warm and friendly.
It was my first time visiting. Hope you can expand for more seating! Great food!
Food is excellent but the server was not nice
Monday night, only one server, service a bit slow, but the server was very kind and accommodating. Good menu. Crowded tables and very little ambience though.
Best gyros and kababs around. my only suggestion is to substitute tomatoes for zucchini.
Always love the fresh food and so much leftovers for future lunches
The service And food was Amazing. Very accommodating and wanting you to be completely satisfied. Definitely a popular place and quite the buzz in town. Making a reservation is a must if you have more than two people. You won’t be disappointed. Quite an unexpected treasure in a shopping strip mall.
Food was very good. Portions large.
Have gone by this place for many years and never stopped in. Tried it for the first time and the food and service were very good. Seating is limited, but definitely would go back.
