Nonni's Bistro Ratings and Reviews
The food at Ninni's is very good and interesting it is not your normal restaurant. The service is as good as I fave seen and they are very easy to talk to and welling to do whatever the client want. Although the restaurant is cozy it could be somewhat bigger. The bar is excellent and the bartender knows how to make a drink. I would definitely suggest going to Nonni's for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
This was a good find. Right at the front door we were well received. The hostess was friendly, cheerful and professional. The menu was a mixture of flavors and the portions were ample.
Caesar salad would very easily feed two and was a Caesar salad ---not tricked up with bacon or other "improvements". And it was delicious. Wild mushroom ravioli was very tasty and the sole special was very well prepared and enough to share. The service was attentive, friendly and yet relaxed and professional. The chef visited all the tables. We sat outside and, as can be the habit, were not forgotten. The menu was well priced. We would return and would recommend to anyone.
I wanted to try Nonni’s as it had great reviews. The ambience and service were very good. Our server was attentive and staff very friendly. I would rate food 3.5/5 . My husband, friend and I all felt there was way too much butter on our main dishes for dinner and all were lacking in flavor. Dessert was great though.
Enjoyed catching up with a friend over lunch at Nonni's. Sat outside, and it was very pleasant and laid back. Ordered the steak salad and it was one of the best renditions of this dish I've ever had. Fresh greens & vegs, perfectly cooked and good quality beef, grilled onions, and a terrific basil vineigrette. Indulged with dessert, and the chocolate pot de creme was delicious and a perfect finish to my meal. My friend ordered curry chicken salad sandwich and raved about it. Decent by the glass selection of wine, too. Will be back for lunch, and dinner!
Lovely setting in the heart of old Pleasanton with seating indoors and outside on the patio. Very attentive service. Appreciated the more quiet atmosphere...made conversation with my dinner companion relaxed and easy. Menu had a range of options-- including paleo, GF, vegetarian-friendly.
Yum, the lamb burger salad was amazing. A bit too much dressing on the salad, but that was my fault. Next time I will order the dressing on the side. The fresh ground seasoned lamb was so scrumptious. I really hesitate with lamb as it tends to be gamey...but Nonni's know how to do it right. For an extra treat order it medium rare! Oh my gawd!
Also, the French Pinot Blanc paired beautiful. I ordered By the glass and it was delightful!
Enjoyed the food very much. Everyones choices were delicious. My only complaint was that our server was very quiet spoken and not very well informed about ingredients or the menu in general. Additionally , the food runner " auctioned " the food off at the table and we were not pre-set with silverware nor had dirty dishes been cleared. This type of service should be expected in a restaurant operating at this price point and quality. Not trying to be snobby but service should be polished up a bit ,just a thought .
My husband and I always dine at Nonni's for special occasions. It reminds us of the quaint eateries in Europe. As usual we had the Thor appetizer which was surprisingly filling. Having just returned from Budapest where we loved the duck dishes, I ordered the duck with barley. The entree was delicious, but the sauced barley was too salty for my liking. My husband had the barramundi which is always excellent. We love the ambiance and will always return. 🍷
My husband and I were here recently on the spur of the moment. We were seated indoors at a two-person table. The table was very small and not enough room for everything (the condiments and jars with silverware really got in the way. The table was really not big enough.
The food was very good. My husband had the steak frites and declared it delicious. I, also, thoroughly enjoyed the duck breast. The skin was just the right level of crispiness and the duck was cooked exactly as I liked it.
We have been here for brunch before and thoroughly enjoyed the brunch menu, which I would highly recommend (and maybe a little larger table outside.
Only my second time here. It's hard to write a bad review because everyone here is lovely and the food is great. But the service and lack of air conditioning is a challenge. It was bad enough that the server forgot to turn our order in (we waited over an hour) but then it took forever to get our check. The owner was visiting at the next table and poured me a wonderful pinot on the house and my friend received a complementary cocktail. The server was very nice and apologetic but honestly after the long wait for the meal he should not have made us wait and wait for the check. Might go back for the food it was that good but not on a hot evening with no ac!
Came here with three kids, grandparents and my sister in law, and everyone ordered something different and loved it! The goat cheese crepe appetizer, mushroom ravioli, rack of lamb, and Cobb salad all rocked. The kids loved their kids menu options, and especially the vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce that came with it. Good selection of fun cocktails and good wine as well. Finally, great and pleasant service!
From the arrival, the service was very friendly and attentive. Some of our party ordered that night's special: Arctic char. It was wonderful, cooked perfectly, delicious sauce and sides. Some others got the salmon on the regular menu and found it bland: the salmon and sides under-seasoned, but cooked correctly. The salmon eaters did not provide honest feedback to the wait staff. The rack of lamb got five stars from its patron: beautiful, slightly rare (again, perfect for that dish) cook and enjoyable seasoning. The cocktails also had mixed reviews: the whiskey sour and manhattan were top notch, while the cherry bomb was, well, a bomb. Although not every single dish and drink got full stars, the general feeling around the table was one of satisfaction and appreciation for the skill and presentation of the drinks and dinners. We will go back to this little gem, recommend this to foodies and adults. No vegans in our party, but there's always a vegeatarion entree available -the one that night sounded yummy- and the kitchen got every slight change request spot on. Definitely worth trying!
While most of the outdoor seats were full, the inside was completely empty, which would have been fine, except that service was still extremely slow. Seemed like only one guy was serving all tables, even though there was a bartender and a hostess not appearing to do much to help. Restrooms were not clean and there was a stack of chairs sitting right in front of the toilet. After leaving restroom, all you see is clutter and trash. Food was okay, but obviously a mismanaged restaurant.
Amazing food! My husband and I had the Scandinavian appetizer, beef carpaccio, I had the duck for the entree, and he had something with pork, don't remember the name. Everything was soooo good, although I could only start on my entree and had to take the rest of it away as I was very full at that point. But we ended up sharing the marzipan ice cream nevertheless :-) Absolutely loved our server Esteban! Will definitely be back! The only complaint - noise level was over the roof! Romantic dinner wouldn't work - otherwise perfect!
