Nonna's Citi Cucina Ratings and Reviews
Noticed the more recent changes in the menu didn't help. Quality seems to be slipping and would like to see them get back on track. Great ambiance and potential but rather see them not offer so many groupons and just improve the quality of the food. If the food is good, people will come.
We had a wonderful experience! We had come with a group of 7 (3 of them 13 and under), were greeted immediately and provided the specials for the evening. Our server was attentive to everything, from bringing bread to the table, refilling our waters, and asking us if we wanted more drinks, even helpful with choosing the 4 year old's meal. We didn't even realize that the food had taken longer than planned, but our server did and notified the manager who gave us a discount. We would definitely go there again!
Table was super wobbly, almost spilled my wine twice... No idea who our server was, first an older man came over to greet us, then left us for over 20 minutes without taking our appetizer order even though we told him we wanted to put it in. It looked like he was overwhelmed with a larger party he had, or just was choosing to give them better service since it was a larger party and would probably make a higher tip off of them. Finally, a younger woman came by and took our order. My boyfriend had to wait over 30 minutes for a refill of his coke while waiting for our food. No one came to check on us after we received our food until we were almost done. They offered me cheese and pepper for my food when I had about 4 bites left. Then we waited a long time for our check. When we finally received it from the original male waiter, it was wrong because I had already given the female waitress my phone to scan a groupon I had... Food was amazing, but over all just a bad experience. It was supposed to be a romantic celebration of our 3 year anniversary, so it was kind of upsetting we were treated like this. I used to come to this place a lot when I was younger with my parents and really enjoyed it, so I'm pretty upset with the way we were treating during our dinner there.
This is our forth time here so obviously we enjoy the atmosphere and food. Unfortunately, this time the service was horrible. We did not get our salads ( they offered to box it for us at no charge to take home) and the waitress never came back to see if we were okay with our dinner. Also after our plates were cleared she again never came back to see if we wanted coffee or dessert. I had to get someone else to chase her down to get our check.
She seemed a little overwhelmed.
I found it odd that the restaurant only had one other party in the dining area where we ate, yet we were seated practically on top of them. With all of that room, why put us right next to these people...especially when they were SO LOUD! We went for my grandmother's birthday, yet we couldn't hear a word she said the entire time. The food was just OK, definitely not the best Italian in the area, and service could have been better. Overall, I wouldn't recommend.
Having dined here before and been sat at a table for 4 amongst tables seating 10, 15, 20 plus people, I requested a bar table/booth when I made the reservation. I even called and inquired about a table for 4 in the bar and if theyvwhere busy. The young women said the were relatively slow and that the bar area wouldn't be a problem. I said I was making the reservation on Open Table right then. Upon arrival, the hostess (probably the same one I spoke with on the phone, started to seat us in one of the crowded dining rooms. I complained andcsaid thats not what I requested. Someone ekse came up to see what the problem was. I explained the situation and he saw my request on the screen. Obviously the hostess did not bother to read. Good thing I hadnt plan a surprise of some sort, needing the restaurants help in pulling it off. Moral: Read the reservation notes.
The food was delicious for the most part. My husband had the scallops and I had the eggplant rollatine. The only issue regarding the food we had was the dessert. We ordered the bread pudding and I found the portion to be small for the price, it was way too firm, and had an orange taste that the menu didn't say had it. It wasn't the best. The biggest complaint was that a member of our party had most of their meal wrapped up to take with him to work and when he got there to eat it they had given him someone's half eaten fish dish. He spent over $25 for a meal he had to then throw out. They need to be more careful giving people their "doggie bags."
Nice looking place that feel short.
It started being seating to a table with dirty bread plate with food on it.
We shared a Cesar Salad that had some wilted lettuce. It was ok.
Our entrees were Rigatoni Vodka and Eggplant Parm.
Rigatoni Vodka was better.
The server never came over to check how our salad or main dishes were.
Will not be going back.
Our waiter had only large tables to take care of, and the hostesses sat other tables at the same time as us, so the waiter was overwhelmed. Definitely not fair for him. Table wasn't even completely set up, did not have bread plates. We were celebrating a birthday and it was not a great visit. Food was authetic tasting and rustic. I recommend going on an off hour or during the week.
First visit to Nonna's and was very impressed with all aspects of our dining experience. Wonderful salad to start which we shared, very fresh and plentiful. We both had specials, one fish over risotto and the other a short rib pasta with mozzarella, equally exceptional entrees, creatively presented. Nice wine list, excellent wait staff. Would be happy to return!
Far too expensive for poor quality food that was all overcooked. Servers were hovering yet ineffective. My drink went empty 2 times and I had to ask for refills.
food was brought in good quantity, but take home food was not good after reheating as everything was already overcooked before coming to the table.
We had a quiet "date night" dinner. The restaurant was inviting and softly lit, the atmosphere encouraged quiet conversation. We started with a nice crusty bread to dip in seasoned oil then onto Nonna's signature salad, easily could be shared by two, delicious. Our entree's were equally delicious and generous. We had made reservations and shared with the hostess we were
using a Groupon. Although I worried we would not be treated as well as those paying full price, this never made itself apparent. All were gracious and made us feel welcome.
