Food was cold upon arrival after waiting almost 60 minutes. Table in high traffic area by noisy kitchen. Will never go back here.
Had 7:00 reservations and was told at check in they were 30 minutes behind, with 4 groups in front of us. Checked back at 7:30 and was told it would be about 20-30 minutes longer, with 5 groups to be seated. Very disappointed. We’re there for Valentines dinner with my wife and it was such a bad experience, we left shortly after being seated. We witnessed other groups leaving with reservations. I will not go back again.
Great food. Friendly wait staff
Had Valentine's Day reservations for 6:30PM. Didn't get seated until 7:30PM. Clearly overbooked. Other that the food and service were fantastic.
A special night out. Don’t know what else to say but Nooten table won’t let me write less than 50 characters.
We came here for Valentine's dinner and had to take an early dinner reservation to get in. The place is very well decorated with Italian murals on the walls. The food was savory and presented nicely. I ordered the valentines special Mahi Mahi over potatoes and the Mrs. got a chicken caesar salad. We got the Prosciutto hors d'oeuvre and the cheesecake for dessert. The fish was perfectly done with a bit of a crust on the top. The potatoes were whipped so nicely with the skin still on. The cheesecake was "the best I have ever had" according to my wife. The wait staff was friendly and did their best on what is likely one of the busiest nights of the year. At no time did they seem overly rushed or panicked though. I really enjoyed our dinner, while "Scenes From an Italian Restaurant" played in my head. I would definitely recommend!
Quite the Gem in a small community. Great atmosphere, Tasty, Perfect meals . Quiet, Cozy environment. Great for Date Night.
The food is always wonderful! Took my mother-in-law for dinner and she is asking when we are going back. There were not enough servers working and thise that were there were doing their best. Go to enjoy the food and atmosphere and not expect quick service.
The food was very good and we had a good time. Service was a bit slow due to someone missing their shift but we were accommodated for the wait.
Really wanted to like this place: it's hard to get good Italian food in the Twin Cities. Great server, fun atmosphere--but, yeesh, the food is just not good.
Honestly, I felt cheated after having dinner here! We traveled all the way from the city because we saw the 4.5-star review and hoped for a great time. Spaghetti Carbonara was made with alfredo sauce that was probably around 3000 calories. There is no way to finish it without having a heart attack, and I've never heard of an alfredo Carbonaro in my life. My attempt is to warn customers from out of town like me and make sure they don't expect a 4.5-star meal and service. Good luck
We, in Robbinsdale are so fortunate to have Nonna Rosa - always fresh authentic Italian cuisine- Home made everything! Great service and lovely ambiance. Love this place & visit often at all different times & occasions. My Amaretto Gelato topped off my shrimp & angel hair main dish, can still taste them & will return again & again.
Really great authentic Italian restaurant. One of our favorites.
Fantastic food, very reasonably priced as well! Loved it! I also loved the ambiance; had a small town, Italian, intimate feel! Loved it! Only downside was we were there for three hours, because we were waiting to be served/waiting for our food.
Our server was great. She has Italian heritage and seemed to love her job. Our veal dishes were very good, I had the Picata.
Two others had the Veal Parmesan but thought the red sauce was very bland. Overall we had a very nice experience.
This is one of our go to restaurants. We always enjoy the food. It is a family run restaurant. The chef is more than helpful when we ask for alterations on the menu. (I like a dish he makes that is no longer on the menu and he always makes it for me.) They have a small bar and unlike other restaurants that we go to actually serve expresso which my husband likes after a good dinner. I love their home made gelato and their warm chocolate cake with the gelato is absolutely delish.
We love eating at Nonna Rosa's first and foremost for the quality and variety of AUTHENTIC Italian cuisine. Walk through the front door and you are warmly welcomed by the greeter. Everyone working in this establishment is so friendly and proud of the food they serve. The cook Francesco is a genius. This is a family run operation and you never have to wave a server down for assistance they are there always for you. They NEVER push you to finish your meal. Meals are served fresh and hot with delicious bread and butter on the side. I always leave with my mind, body and soul nourished. You will never regret selecting this restaurant for your next meal or gathering with family and friends. The clientele are elderly down to little tots. Everyone is welcome here.
The food was delicious. The pasta I had included seafood and it was a good balance of pasta, sauce and seafood. I would order it again. My drink was really good as well.
Consistently great food and outstanding service. We love the wait staff.
Nice quiet lunch place, friendly, great Italian food
The food was exceptional, from appetizers, to main courses, and dessert. You will leave happy and full, it's perfect for a date night or any night really. The wife and I can't wait to go back. Highly recommended.
This is a great resturant. Greeted when we entered, friendly. Serice was fantastic, Matt told us about the specials, and we did not wait long for entree to arrive. The salted caramel gelato is very good. We always love going to Nonna Rosa's.
Four friends wanted Italian food. We all four enjoyed ourselves , thought the food was delish, and thought the service excellent.
Best Italian in town! Food is fabulous. Service was ok....restaurant was busy with one server.
It was very chilly in the restaurant with drafts from the window we were sitting next to and from the doors. It was New Year’s Eve so the service was somewhat slow, which was somewhat to be expected. We hope that service is more up to par on a typical evening.
Nona Rosa's remains my favorite restaurant nearly seven years after I first discovered it. The food is unique and amazing. Chef Francesco, being born and raised in Italy, ensures the food is authentic and delicious.
The ambiance is warm and welcoming. With the warmth of the staff, it always feels as if you are dining with friends.
My husband and I had our wedding reception dinner at Nona Rosa's in 2014, and that event remains one if my favorite evenings of all times.
Robbinsdale has become a fun destination, and we always enjoy dinner at Nona Rosa's, shopping at Finds on Broadway, and a beer at Wicked Wort.
Unfortunately we went for New Years, and although I consider myself fairly easy to please- it was honestly the worst food I’ve ever had at a restaurant.
Food is always delicious. Service is fair. We had a large table, only one server. She was so busy with her other tables, she barely had time to refill our water glasses (manager was sitting at the bar - she should have gotten up to help!) Highly recommend their seafood dishes in addition to their pasta. Fodder is great, just don't expect great service.
Excellent service and outstanding food
