Nonna Rosa's Ristorante Italiano
Superb swordfish and shrimp diablo. Friendly service with a menu a notch or two (or three) above most Italian neighborhood restaurants. Yum.
Waited 20 minutes after my reservation time to be seated when I arrived 5 minutes early. Food was rather bland and service was not great.
Wonderful. Like going grandmas. The menu had so many choices it was difficult to decide. I will have to go back to try some other dish. The veal melted in my mouth. Just delicious.
Food and service were amazing! I will definitely be back for a meal!!
As always the food, experience and service was top notch!
Appetizers were cold. Rest of the meal was excellent. Server took awhile to return but believe it was because she was over worked and not just inattentive. Will definitely return.
My biggest issue with this place is that the day after they confirmed I was there and I got my open table points they “cancelled” my reservation and my points were taken away. Also, my daughter ordered a lasagna which was HUGE but my husbands dish was small and left him hungry. They took my nieces soup away before she was finished. I ordered a glass of wine before our food came out but everyone was done eating by the time my wine came. The only reason I wasn’t was because I refused to start eating until my wine arrived. I love the story behind this restaurant and the owners I just wish it was actually a good place to go.
We had a wonderful experience. Food was excellent and the service was friendly and professional. Our server was helpful and thought of everything. Thanks.
Wonderful atmosphere, prompt service, delicious cocktails and fresh food.
Nonna's Happy Hour is the best I have ever seen. You can eat a whole meal, with wine for under $20. It's fabulous!
This is our "go to" restaurant. We love it, and appreciate the personalized service we receive each and every time we go.
Nice family owned small Italian restaurant. Excellent food, large menu, good wine, excellent service. definitely going back.
It was wonderful. Food was soo great, fresh , hot!!
Great food and great place to eat!
Great value and the servers are the best, love Josephine! Always my go to for lunch and dinner.
Tina and Francesco have provided us our favorite eating place for years. We love bringing friends, celebrating special days, or just coming in for an early dinner mid-afternoon. The wait-staff is always courteous, friendly and competent. The food is the best available anywhere. We love Italian cuisine; we love Nonna Rosa's.
We sat on the patio, it was lovely. We had the bolognes bruschetta (wish it came with 4 pieces of cheese bread not 3). Always love their fish special, this time it was pesto crusted walleye, served over noodles but I had mine over veggies, love their flexibility. And Sunday and Monday and 1/2 price bottle of wines. You cannot go wrong here.
The service was not great, there was no bartender so the waitresses were serving food and making drinks, we had empty drinks and water and she never came back to ask if we wanted another drink or even more eater, we got one of the “specials” that was recommended and the gchnooi (however you spell it) was so terrible, I’ve had better at Olive Garden, and way to pricey, all in all it wasn’t terrible but we won’t be going back for a while.
Great wait person. Food was delicious. For me it was enough for a second meal
We were told there was an offsite event that took several staff away from the restaurant. Now I didn’t mind the extra wait for our table, I totally get it that those left in the restaurant were left in the weeds and understaffed as soon as the doors opened. We were handed our nebula and pointed to and empty booth. No plates or silverware. Waited 22 minutes until we were greeted by a server. After describing the specials she proceeded to take our entire order. Drinks, wine, apps and entrees all at once. Appetizer showed up before any silverware. Salads showed up shortly after. Water glasses sat empty most of the meal. The couple at the table next to us got up and refilled their own water glasses. Entrees arrived and our table had to be bussed before anything could be set down to eat. Two outta 3 ain’t bad...my entree was NOT what I ordered. And I had to wait 16 minutes after entrees were delivered before our server came back to our table. The food we did eat was really good! I wish I would have received what I ordered...was really looking forward to it.
We discussed desert options with our 13 yo son and decided on Cannoli and Tiramisu to go since we had already been in the restaurant 2 hours and 5 minutes. 15 minutes later we went and found our server and asked her to run the check so we could leave.
I feel for the staff that was left in the restaurant so short staffed and having to cover for an external offsite event. Priorities seem to need some work. If you pull staff away l, you should staff up to cover the restaurant.
I’ll give it one more try on another night before I cross this place off the list for good.
Out of town visitor on business with a colleague. Neighborhood place with typical menu. Food was acceptable. Wine not great. Service was so-so.
I am from Kansas City, Missouri. I was in Minneapolis over the weekend of Labor Day. I went to Nonna Rosa’s and I was so happy I did. The food was delicious. And our server was extraordinary. Thank you Josephine for your kindness and superb service. Your knowledge of Italian food paired with your personality help create a friendly inviting atmosphere. I hope to visit again soon. A++
Always fantastic food and atmosphere!
The food was awesome. Their lemoncello margaritas were very refreshing. I will go back the next time I'm in Minneapolis!
Waited at our table at least 10 minutes before anyone came over. Silverware was wrapped up in a dirty napkin. I would doubt that they rolled it up that way but someone used it previously and they never bothered to check.
Service was wonderful. Stevie our server was great, always love seeingJosephine! We will be back very soon!
Good quality for the price, everything was good, it's solid Italian comfort food fare. I think they were understaffed the night we dined, service was a little slow.
We like everything there. Awesome food, great service, good atmosphere.
I've already recommended this place to friends. We hadn't been there for a couple of years and decided to give a try. Very happy with everything. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and Stevie was great. She went out of her way to make us comfortable and helped us with some requests. It was also a beautiful evening and sitting outside was wonderful.
I met a work associate of mine at Nonna Rosa's and I simply was not prepared for how delicious and savory the food would be.
The chef is exceptional and exacting with his craft and it shows in the presentation and flavor of the food.
And the prices are very reasonable as well!
always fresh ingredients. We sat outside this time but I do love the aromas inside the restaurants and will get my fill this winter.
Great service and great food. Will definitely go back.
Love that it’s a family owned restaurant. We sat outside at the patio. Service was great and friendly. The food was a bit bland and underwhelming. The lava cake and gelato was delicious!!!!
I love this restaurant. I have had three of the best meals this year here. The service is very friendly. Two areas that needed improvement. We had a lot of dishes that needed clearing and needed clean silverware after finishing our appetizers. I also didn't care for the paper tablecloths- not very elegant. The food is amazing and we will be back!
We love Nonna Rosas but they are understaffed and the servers are working hard but can’t keep up. Our group had plenty of time so it was not a big deal for this get together.
It was great as always
My book club meets here. We are always treated so well. The noise level is moderate so we are always able
to discuss our book selection. We never feel rushed to leave.
Food lacked seasoning and much of any flavor. The service was good but the food was overpriced and either undercooked or overcooked. Their special risotto was undercooked, not al dente, just hard and unevenly cooked.
Service was horrible. Slow, inattentive, and clearly didn’t know the menu. Asked for extra parmasean- was told...and I quote... “we can’t afford to do that”. Really? On a 250 dollar tab? Yikes. Hoping the owners figure this out.
