Great food but service was so bad and the waitress was really rude. Took an hour for garlic bread.
Had a reservation and waited about 2 hours for our food. Bad food also. Don’t get the pesto. Very bland.
The restaurant was very cute, and the food was pretty good ... but our service was abysmal. Took over an hour for our food the arrive, while tables around ya all got their food (and we were not a big party - just 5)
Food was delicious!!!
Service was a bit slow!!
I would definitely go back!!!
We always enjoy as in neighborhood . Comfortable , good food .
The absolute worst place to go. We had reservations through Open Table for 7:45pm and arrived right on time. No one to check on seating even 5 mins after we entered. When we finally got hold of a server, she said they don’t work with Opentable any more so we have to wait 45 mins for a table. Her tone was totally unwelcoming and clearly she did not want to seat us at all. She did not put out names down. She went over to the bar and started ringing up someone else. My wife followed her and waited for another 5 mins while the lady steadfastly ignored her. Then she started to walk away when my wife asked her if she put our names down for a table. This lady had the audacity to ask my wife if we were being helped by anyone! My wife told her to put down our names for the table. Then this lady actually checked her watch and put down our name and a time to give us our table - 8:45! Now why would someone already put down a time to give you a table I wonder. We made other reservations and left the place immediately. Will be putting up reviews on other websites too. People need to know to avoid this place! Would rate it as 0 stars if I could.
WHat a wonderful gem. I loved the cocktails and pizza sauce. I also loved the fresh salad.
Highly recommend. Nice waitress!w
The best Italian food and wonderful atmosphere in a city with plenty of competition.
Great food, but meatball sandwich wasn't very hot and drinks were so-so. Had lemon drop and marg on the rocks!
Great food, good service. Wonderful Italian food. Warm olive appetizer not to be missed! Love the liminata iced tea, too.
Great spot for a business lunch. Food was excellent, servers are amazing, and the interior as well as exterior are so inviting and beautiful! My business has been won here!!
The pizza crust was a bit tasteless, but the toppings were good. I like the porch and the rosé was smooth.
Good food and service. Outdoor area was nice and away from street noise. Adequate Italian menu.
Terrible service. Long time waiting for food and drinks. I asked for extra dressing on my beet salad (that wasn't very good), and I was charged extra I noticed on my receipt. Firstly the salad had a drizzle on the beets only. The spinach was dry so I wanted a little more. Waiter should have been forthcoming with that information
I will never be back.
Prima pizza was AMAZING!
Service was good but a bit slow at a point...
But We had a good, relax time out in the balcony with an excellent pizza! Our table neighbors ordered pasta and it smelled to die for (if that helps!)
Made a visit to Nonna during our visit to NOLA. The options were great and the food was good. I'd come back to try other dishes. Despite the extremely friendly host that helped us find a parking spot, the service was poor to fair. They seemed to have plenty of staff to keep things moving, but lots of confusion. Walked out paying premium. Worth giving another shot, I think.
Great service! Food was excellent! We will definitely come back
Had a reservation and the table was ready on time. Right after we were seated a table that I preferred became available and they moved us without any fuss. It was a first date, so that was nice. Drinks were good and we did not want to be rushed and the waitress was available but not hovering. That was also nice. We got a couple of appetizers, and an the hot olives/oil/bread and the shrimp and the roasted beets salad. All f this was great. We Also got the meatballs entrée which was good but the apps were better. Cheese cake was decent and overall it was a good meal and a great experience.
Food was great. Server very gracious and responded with her suggestions when we told her is was a special celebration .
We've been to Nonna Mia twice and both times the food and service have been awesome! Great place for Italian.
The service was terrible and the food was mediocre.
We sat outside and enjoyed the pretty courtyard while we ate a delicious shrimp spinach salad. Our server was attentive and helpful. Very nice experience!
We had our 1 year old with us and were looking for a place without a wait on a Saturday night. We were coming from City Park and found Nona Mia on open table. Pleasantly surprised by this place. Food was wonderful all the way around, it wasn't very crowded, and the service was great. I will definitely visit Nona Mia again.
Food was good but it was very loud at our table. Would come back but not to sit inside.
Wasn't enough wait staff to serve all folks waiting, but food was decent for the price. Ambiance was great.
We were looking for Italian food far from the madding Mardi Gras crowds...this little cafe in Mid-City was just the ticket. The waitress and other diners tried to steer us to the pizzas, but we were in the mood for pasta and were very happy with our choices...the meatballs were especially good. We sat at a cozy little table in the window looking out on the Esplanade street scene. We'll definitely go back...and make sure we order some pizza, too...and check out the wine list.
I have been to Nonna Mia at least 5 times since it has opened and usually am very pleased with my experience. My last trip however left me a little disappointed. The food was great like always but the service was lacking. Our waiter basically took our order and was not present for most of our meal. He did not anticipate the guests needs and we had to ask for items that should be expected with our meal (saucers for coffee cups, red pepper, parmesan cheese). Plenty of other staff walked by our table and did not acknowledge us when it was obvious we needed something for our table since we were not eating and trying to make eye contact with every person that walked by. We were ignored until our waiter came back and smelled like cigarettes
I took my teenage daughter for lunch. She loved the food. The restaurant has a nice comfortable décor. Service was good.
This place has one of my favorite neighborhood places to go for pizza and the patio is awesome. Monday and Tuesday half price bottles of wines make it worth the trip alone. Go on a Monday or other food or Tuesday to eat pizza and half priced wine well worth it and also great a t day of the week . .
My nieces and I visit New Orleans several times a year and we always have at least one meal at Nonna Mia's on Esplanade Avenue near the Quarter. We found it by accident and go back for the food and the dessert! Try the special chocolate torte. It's OMG good!
Although restaurant was out of some food (Veal and Shrimp)and had somewhat limited menu (only 2 apps avail)-- wait staff was very attentive and pleasant.
Good prices and good food--
The eggplant lasagna was scrumptious and the pizza delicious as always. Sergio, our server was pleasant and appropriately attentive despite being super busy.
On Esplanade Avenue you can dine outside at Nonna Mia and enjoy the rare cool and dry(er) weather we seldom get in New Orleans.
The Pizza is very good as are the entrees. I go for the Pizza. The Margherita Pizza is always delicious with a crispy, but not too crispy, crust. The waiters and waitresses are a little different but that's why I like the place. New Orleans ambience at it's best.
Dined here numerous times. The food isn't spectacular, but it's always a safe bet. Love the ambiance and the neighborhood. Will continue to visit regularly.
