Nonna Cucina Rustica
The menu includes a selection of dishes ranging from antipasti, soups and pasta with a variety of meats and seafood. The pizzas are made with carefully selected ingredients including Caputo flour from Naples, Italy, extra virgin olive oil unfiltered and fresh mozzarella.
"La Nonna” was the precursor of this Italian cuisine where they used the best ingredients while preparing everything from scratch. It is a throwback to the traditional and rustic cuisine. We try to respect these methods and recipes from the past while integrating cutting-edge techniques.
Excellent fresh food!
Very good food, nice ambiance, excellent service and reasonable prices.
Great creative Italian inspired cuisine. Great wine list and friendly service. One is the best I. San Juan.
Food was outstanding. Jan was great as our server and she made some fantastic recommendations. The whole family thoroughly enjoyed a variety of authentic dishes
Excelente! Me encantó la comida y el servicio excepcional.
I love Nonna. Great food, great service, reasonable prices. Out of the way place. A good find.
Wonderful food and friendly staff but unfortunately very slow service
Small and intimate place with very good food. Being from NYC we are picky about Italian food and this place did not disappoint, would go back again. Service was a bit slow but it was ok to chill and be on island time.
Quaint and traditional small restaurant. Food is impeccable and service outstanding!
Great right from the start: Courteous valet person, warm greeting as we entered.
Our server was friendly and professional.
Food was as superior: salad, main course and dessert. Wine and sparkling water were excellent
Very good local restaurant. Service can sometimes (Sunday evening) can be spotty to bad. Overall worth it, be patient.
Restaurant was lovely; the food delicious.
The service attentive.
The noise level was fine... I couldn’t figure out whether to mark all the squares- did that mean the noise level was too loud or really fine??
Excellent experience all the way, including quality food, service and place.
Been many times. Excellent every time. Great service, excellent food. Get the goat cheese ravioli. I could eat those every. Single. Day.
Nice small restaurant off the beaten path. Good food, friendly and very good service and good value. Food was very good and they had a good selection of drinks and nice menu. Obviously a spot where many local residents dine.
Small but inviting space. Very gracious service. Short but intriguing menu. Had two appetizers and two pasta dishes, all were way above expectations. Arrancini, burrata salad, paccheri a l'amatriciana, and mushroom risotto. Portions were very generous . Server suggested a wine which accompanied well. We visit San Juan often and this is definitely a "go to" place. In Condado, about 5 minutes taxi from the beach hotels.
Excellent like always. The service and the food were excellent!!!
Youngest daughter Birthday celebration.
The food was exceptional and the service even more! Our waitress knew it was our first time in the restaurant so she took care of us and made sure we ate good. Needless to say she didn't disappoint. Would go back in a heart beat!
Excelent food, we enjoyed every dish! :)
It was a poor experience. When the first person arrived they told her there was no reservation in my name. There were tables available but she wasn’t offered to be seated until the others arrived. The valet parking service is complicated and inefficient. We weren’t offered drinks or water so we had to ask to be served. It’s a pity because the food was very good. I don’t think that I would come back.
It’s a jewel we keep coming back
Modest imited menu but with the needed variety to make your visit a good one...quality and care...
Great ambiance and the best pasta I have ever had.
I convinced my sisters to try this place on our way back from a road trip. One of them was actually in the island visiting from Australia, and I wanted for her to experience something different. I would like to give it a better review but I'm going to be realistic. We reserved through Open table, arrived, and I guess that to the hostess standard, we didn't look the part. She looked at us like: "Are you sure you're in the right place?" We get seated and the waiter doesn't introduce himself, he was kinda expecting for us to order right away. So we ask for a couple of minutes and then he just kept serving other tables. After quite a bit he comes back and takes the order and then leaves abruptly without taking the drinks orders. After quite a bit he comes back and takes the drinks order. Food arrives and was delicious, yes. The risotto, the pastas, all of it. The chef is not to blame in this review. The huge let down was the service and it is such a shame. We honestly felt condescended by the hostess and waiter throughout. Not so Italian, who are all about comfort and making you feel like family if you ask me. Ultimately, as a member of the hotel industry at an exclusive address in the island, I wasn't impressed. A great dinner goes hand in hand with great service; food and drinks were fantastic, but even a good glass of Pinot Grigio can't wash down bad service.
One of the finest Restuarant experiences. Food, ambiance, Jan the waitress, the other patrons. A rich moment of joy which brought a multitude of smiles and satisfaction. I cannot express enough how pleased I was to have eaten at Nonna.

Having had a fabulous meal here last year, we revisited this local gem and were not disappointed. Our lovely meal was fresh and delicious AND well-priced.
Our server Jan was amazing. She did a "chef's table," serving us their best and everything was so good!
I went to celebrate my birthday and Nonna never disappoints! The food quality is outstanding! The service of our waitress was excellent and her recommendations were too. Definitely going again very soon !
Outstanding as always. If they have the goat cheese ravioli, don’t skip it. Even if you don’t like ravioli.
This place has a 4 1/2 stars I go to many places this is 2 stars. Not really an Italian restaurant more like a restaurant that served Puerto Rican food. Certainly not 4 1/2 stars. We had a small salad and the fish yuck not good.
What an amazing experience! We met the chef during a food festival and we came back for dinner. She offered to prepare a tasting menu for us, it was incredible! Some of the best Italian food ever. Best arancini balls and amazing mushroom risotto. Great wine selection at very reasonable prices... a must-go!
The experience was disappointing.
They ran out of Coca Cola and did not want to run to the corner store to satisfy a customer.
The meatballs were cold and had to be sent back. The rest of the food was ok.
I would not go back.
The duck lasagna and gnochis were amazing... the menú is very creative
Our go to Italian restaurant in San Juan.
This is on my list of places never to return to...Never
This restaurant was recommended to us and we went for my son's 30th birthday dinner. This was my second trip to PR and we've gone to quite a few restaurants - I have to admit this was my favorite - the food was fresh and delicious - raviolis were out of this world. We had the nicest waiters. I've already recommended it to my friend who is heading to PR this year. It will be #1 on my return visit.
Pretty good. Had a good time with my partner and the food was amazing. Carla's service was excellent too. Would recommend!!
Nonna was recommended to us by friends of ours that live in PR. We went with them the first night we were in town and loved it so much that we returned later that week. GREAT food. Highly recommended!
